This research aims to analyze the knowledge necessity and implementation of the occupational health and safety (OHS) of students in SMK Negeri 1 Kaidipang while taking the industrial work practice. This is a quantitative research by applying questionnaires and observation with 2 variables, those are; 1) the knowledge necessity of the occupational health and safety (X) and 2) the implementation of the occupational health and safety in the industrial work practice (Y)..The test with the significance level (a) of 5%. It shows that: (1) Knowledge necessity of occupational health and safety greatly influences its implementation during the industrial work practices, this is evidenced by the R Square value of 0.358 or 35.8% which means that the knowledge necessity of the occupational health and safety variable only contributes 35.8% to its implementation during the industrial work practices. (2) the knowledge necesssity of the OHS positively influences its implementation during the industrial work practice of students in class XI and XII majoring in Architecture with proof of value, count> cable (4,604> 2.02439). The knowledge necessity of occupational health and safety can affect students' awareness in its implementation because students can know the consequences of not paying attention to occupational health and safety

This exploratory paper focuses on the well-being of diaspora returnees seeking entrepreneurial opportunities in Nigeria, with an emphasis on health, safety and development. The paper is based, in part, on a review of literature on diaspora migrants' returnees' well-being. However, in the absence of large scale quantitative research, the report presents partial and anecdotal evidence on the well-being of specific groups of migrants in Nigeria that may not readily be generalized to the whole livelihood-seeking, cross-border migrant population in the SSA region. The paper concludes that returnee entrepreneurs should prepare to contribute meaningfully to controlling occupational health and safety in informal sector of Nigerian economy.

Purpose Thailands’ informal workers are faced with job insecurity and poor working conditions. Good health status can promote lifelong working and increase quality of life. This study analyzed factors associated with the health status of the community informal workers. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted with 390 informal workers aged 15 to 59 years in Thasala district, Nakhon Si Thammarat, southern Thailand. A multi-stage sampling method using proportional to size selection was employed in various types of informal workers. The interviews on self-reported health status, health behaviors, occupational hazards, healthcare utilization, occupational health and safety (OHS) access are reported as descriptive. The multivariate association was explored using the simple logistic regression. Findings The results revealed that 80.77% of the participants had good health, 57.44% had healthy behavior, 76.41% had safe work practices, 22.05% had moderate to high exposed of occupational hazards, and 56.41% had the low OHS access. Safe work practices, moderate to high OHS access, low exposed to occupational hazards, and low income were more likely to produce good health status, which yielded the adj. OR 2.57, 1.86, 0.39, and 0.48, respectively. Conclusions The community informal workers health status was associated by income, work practices, occupational hazards, and OHS access. To strengthening the informal workers’ health, the OHS program should be managed intensively by the primary care services, especially the OHS risk management.

Background:Little research has been undertaken into occupational health and safety in the Prosthetics and Orthotics profession. Objectives:To identify physical, psychosocial and environmental workplace experiences of Prosthetists and Orthotists in organisational settings.Study design:Qualitative methodology, cross-sectional design, using thematically analysed data collected from focus groups. Methods:Focus groups explored workplace and work experiences across varied Prosthetic and Orthotic settings. Data were thematically analysed to identify physical, psychosocial and environmental workplace experiences. Results:Three major themes, Demands of Work Practice, Impacts on the Individual and Job Design, were identified as problematic. A latent theme Perceptions of Others of P&O highlighted a lack of understanding of the Prosthetics and Orthotics job role outside the profession. Conclusion:This first study of occupational health and safety in the Prosthetics and Orthotics profession identifies a number of important physical and psychosocial issues, including characteristics that have been previously identified as risk factors for work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Findings from the study indicate that some Australian organisations lack understanding of the Prosthetics and Orthotics job role, which results in inappropriate expectations of Prosthetics and Orthotics professionals. Preventing injuries and retaining experienced Prosthetists and Orthotists in the workplace is vital for the profession, and as a result, issues raised in this study require further exploration and then development of appropriate management strategies.Clinical relevanceThis is the first study characterising the experiences of work and risk of injuries in Prosthetists and Orthotists. Preventing injuries and retaining experienced Prosthetists and Orthotists in the workplace is vital for the international profession. Issues raised in this study require further exploration and then development of appropriate management strategies.
