Energy production through the contact of piezoelectric crystals, in a teaching institution in the City of Manaus- Amazonas

Electric energy is responsible for several factors that keep us active and in communication with the rest of the world, where they present various ways of producing electric energy, including renewable energies. The most used type of energy is linked to non-renewable sources, causing numerous environmental impacts, other types can be described for power generation considering less consumption, greater stability, lower cost as in the case of piezoelectricity, which is still little used. However, it proves to be a highly efficient alternative, given the generation of energy by means of piezoelectric crystals, mechanically stimulated by pressure (scalar magnitude of mechanical condition, presented in physics), which proves to be an advantage given the types of production power.

The rapid depletion of fossil fuels and their adverse effect on the environment have led scientists to look for alternative sources and technologies of energy production. India took the lead in utilising biological wastes for the production of 'biogas' with varied applications like cooking and power generation. South Africa first used transesterified vegetable oil as 'biodiesel' to power vehicles. With the numerous benefits to mankind and environment, the use of biological fuels is gaining momentum throughout the world. With a little more streamlining, biofuels will be soon replacing the existing fuel sources, at the same time helping us to rectify the thoughtless exploitation of the past.


The article analyzes the prospects for changes in the volume of exports of Russian coal due to the reduction of its consumption for energy production by the importing countries. The importance of Russian power generating coal for the energy supply to the world as a whole and to individual importing regions in particular is shown. It is justified that a radical and abrupt refusal to use coal as an energy source in the next few years would hardly be possible because the per capita and the total electric energy consumption has been growing all over the world. To a large extent, this is due to the increase in the number of data centers around the world, which centers do not yet have enough “green” sources of energy to ensure the uninterrupted operation thereof. Therefore, coal exports from Russia to the European countries, China and DPRK will continue to grow in the years to come; this is confirmed by the forecast models built by the authors, which models consider changes in the coal and electricity consumption by major importers. By the time the conditions are ensured for the majority of countries in the world to abandon coal as a source of electricity in order to stop air pollution, Russia will need to find opportunities for its alternative use, an example of which would be the creation and development of production of competitive products of the coal chemical industry.

The fast urbanization in many regions of the world has generated a high competition between cities. In the race for investments and for international presence, some cities have increasingly resorting to the territorial marketing techniques like city branding. One of the strategies of recent years has been to use of creativity and / or labeling of creative city for the promotion of its destination. This phenomenon raises a question whether the city branding programs have worked in accordance with the cultural industries of the territory or if such labels influence the thought of tourists and locals. This paper begins by placing a consideration of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) and the strategies of the Territorial Marketing Program of the city of Lyon in France, Only Lyon. It also raises the question the perception of the target public to each of the current actions through semi-structured interviews which were applied between May and August 2015. Finally, I will try to open a discussion the brand positioning adopted by the city of Lyon

In this regard, and in line with Ashworth (2009), three urban planning instruments are widely used throughout the world as a means of boosting a city’s image: (i) personality association - where places associate themselves with a named individual from history, literature, the arts, politics, entertainment, sport or even mythology; (ii) the visual qualities of buildings and urban design, which include flagship building, signature urban design and even signature districts and (iii) event hallmarking - where places organize events, usually cultural (e.g., European Capital of Culture, henceforth referred to as ECoC) or sporting (e.g., the Olympic Games), in order to obtain worldwide recognition.

Writers of the early nineteenth century sought to find new ways of writing about the urban landscape when first confronted with the phenomena of London. The very nature of London's rapid growth, its unprecedented scale, and its mere difference from any other urban centre throughout the world marked it out as demanding a different register in prose and poetry. The condition of writing the city, of inventing a new writing for a new experience is explored by familiar texts of urban representation such as by Thomas De Quincey and William Wordsworth, as well as through less widely read authors such as Sarah Green, Pierce Egan, and Robert Southey, particularly his fictional Letters from England.

Every child has a right to an education. In the United States, the issue is not necessarily about access to a school but access to a quality education. With strict compulsory education laws, more than 50 million students enrolled in primary and secondary schools, and billions of dollars spent annually on public and private education, American children surely have access to buildings and classrooms. However, because of a complex and competitive system of shared policymaking among national, state, and local governments, not all schools are created equal nor are equal education opportunities available for the poor, minorities, and underprivileged. One manifestation of this inequity is the lack of qualified teachers in many urban and rural schools to teach certain subjects such as science, mathematics, and technology. The purpose of this article is to describe a partnership model between two major institutions (The American Museum of Natural History and The City University of New York) and the program designed to improve the way teachers are trained and children are taught and introduced to the world of science. These two institutions have partnered on various projects over the years to expand educational opportunity especially in the teaching of science. One of the more successful projects is Seminars on Science (SoS), an online teacher education and professional development program, that connects teachers across the United States and around the world to cutting-edge research and provides them with powerful classroom resources. This article provides the institutional perspectives, the challenges and the strategies that fostered this partnership.

Abstract The bulk of the scholarly literature on city-regions and their governance is drawn from contexts where economic and political systems have been stable over an extended period. However, many parts of the world, including all countries in the BRICS, have experienced far-reaching national transformations in the recent past in economic and/or political systems. The national transitions are complex, with a mix of continuity and rupture, while their translation into the scale of the city-region is often indirect. But, these transitions have been significant for the city-region, providing a period of opportunity and institutional fluidity. Studies of the BRICS show that outcomes of transitions are varied but that there are junctures of productive comparison including the ways in which the nature of the transitions create new path dependencies, and way in which interests across territorial scales soon consolidate, producing new rigidities in city-region governance.

Trade is a form of business that is run by many people around the world, ranging from trading various kinds of daily necessities or primary needs, to selling the need for luxury goods for human satisfaction. For that, to overcome the many needs of life, they try to outsmart them buy products that are useful, economical and efficient. One of the markets they aim at is the second-hand market or the so-called trashy market. As for a trader at a trashy market, they aim to sell in the used goods market with a variety of reasons. These reasons include; first, because it is indeed to fulfill their needs. Second, the capital needed to trade at trashy markets is much smaller than opening a business where the products come from new goods. Third, used goods are easily available and easily sold to buyer. Here the researcher will discuss the behavior of Muslim traders in a review of Islamic business ethics (the case in the Jagalan Kediri Trashy Market). Kediri Jagalan Trashy Market is central to the sale of used goods in the city of Kediri. Where every day there are more than 300 used merchants who trade in the market. The focus of this research is how the behavior of Muslim traders in the Jagalan Kediri Trashy Market in general. Then, from the large number of traders, of course not all traders have behavior in accordance with Islamic business ethics, as well as traders who are in accordance with the rules of Islamic business ethics. This study aims to determine how the behavior of Muslim traders in the Jagalan Kediri Trashy Market in buying and selling transactions and to find out how the behavior of Muslim traders in the Jagalan Kediri Trashy Market in reviewing Islamic business ethics.
