<p>The purpose of this research is to find out how to manage education and training<br />strategies that not only maintain the existence of the institution but also provide benefits for the perpetrators even though it is carried out during the pandemic. This research was conducted in 6 courses and training institutions in East Java and West Java, from March to April 2021. Using a qualitative approach, starting with the distribution of a preliminary questionnaire, then elaborated by in-depth interviews. The results of the study show that the pandemic provides fundamental changes to the governance or management of educational and training institutions starting from planning, implementation and evaluation. At the planning stage, the course and training institutions change the time, goals, and costs to adapt to pandemic conditions, then create digital marketing strategies, and initial assessments for material efficiency. At the implementation stage, the institution applies virtual learning, as well as face-to-face meeting if it is really necessary to do so. At the evaluation stage, the institution uses a contextual evaluation adapted to the pandemic situation but with the appropriate conditions.</p>

The move to an outcomes-based education and training system in South Africa presents higher education and training institutions with a challenge to review their curricula and to adapt to changes brought about by the new education and health care dispensations. Key aspects of the move to outcomes-based education and training as contained in the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) Act, information regarding the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and other matters informing curriculum review are addressed. The Department of Physiotherapy of the University of the Orange Free State has just completed the first phase of restructuring its education and training programme in order to submit the qualification for registration on the NQF. The rationale behind the shift to an outcomes-based, student-centred curriculum and the key features of the programme are briefly discussed, as this is the first step towards the registration of unit standards/qualifications, a process which all education and training institutions will have to embark upon soon.

The training of Imams and Muslim religious leaders has received much interest in the post-9/11 era, resulting in a vast amount of research and publications on the topic. The present work explores this literature with the aim of analysing key debates found therein. It finds that throughout the literature there is a pervasive demand for reform of the training and education provided by Muslim higher education and training institutions (METIs) and Islamic studies programmes at universities in the shape of a synthesis of the two pedagogic models. Such demands are founded on the claim that each is lacking in the appositeness of its provision apropos of the British Muslim population. This article calls for an alternative approach to the issue, namely, that the university and the METI each be accorded independence and freedom in its pedagogic ethos and practice (or else risk losing its identity), and a combined education from both instead be promoted as a holistic training model for Muslim religious leadership.

Increasingly, individuals are using more blended, hybrid, and online deliver formats in education and training. Although research exists about how the physical and social environment impact learning and training in traditional face-to-face settings, we have limited knowledge about how the environment affects learners when they are interacting with technology in their learning situations. In particular, concerns arise about levels of engagement, whether learning is enhanced, the impact or helpfulness of robotics, and how the social dynamics change. These five panelists bring expertise in education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, training within industry and the military, and the use of various teaching and training methods. The panelists will present their perspectives to several questions relative to how the environment can (or cannot) accommodate enhanced learning in education and training when technology is involved. Ample time will remain for audience participation.
