En este artículo dilucidaré una respuesta buscando una lógica diferente a la binaria que permita desenmascarar la distancia tajante entre cuestiones de justicia y cuestiones de la vida buena. Deep blue organic-emitting fluorophores are crucial for application in white lighting and full color flat-panel displays but emitters with high color quality and efficiency are rare. Herein, novel deep blue AIE luminogens (AIEgens) with various donor units and an acceptor of cyano substituted tetraphenylbenzene (TPB) cores were developed and used to fabricate non-doped deep blue and hybrid white organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Benefiting from its high emission efficiency and high proportion of horizontally oriented dipoles in the film state, the non-doped deep blue device based on CN-TPB-TPA realized a maximum external quantum efficiency 7.27%, with a low efficiency roll-off and CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.08). Moreover, efficient two-color hybrid warm white OLEDs (CIE<sub>x,y</sub> = 0.43, 0.45) were achieved using CN-TPB-TPA as the blue-emitting layer and phosphor doped host, which realized maximum current, power, external quantum efficiencies 58.0 cd A<sup>-1</sup>, 60.7 lm W<sup>-1</sup> and 19.1%, respectively. This work provides a general strategy to achieve high performance, stable deep blue and hybrid white OLEDs by construction of AIEgens with excellent horizontal orientation

How profoundly can humans change their own minds? In this paper we offer a unifying account of meditation under the predictive processing view of living organisms. We start from relatively simple axioms. First, the brain is an organ that serves to predict based on past experience, both phylogenetic and ontogenetic. Second, meditation serves to bring one closer to the here and now by disengaging from anticipatory processes. We propose that practicing meditation therefore gradually reduces predictive processing, in particular counterfactual cognition—the tendency to construct abstract and temporally deep representations—until all conceptual processing falls away. Our Many- to-One account also places three main styles of meditation (focused attention, open monitoring, and non-dual meditation) on a single continuum, where each technique progressively relinquishes increasingly engrained habits of prediction, including the self. This deconstruction can also make the above processes available to introspection, permitting certain insights into one’s mind. Our review suggests that our framework is consistent with the current state of empirical and (neuro)phenomenological evidence in contemplative science, and is ultimately illuminating about the plasticity of the predictive mind. It also serves to highlight that contemplative science can fruitfully go beyond cognitive enhancement, attention, and emotion regulation, to its more traditional goal of removing past conditioning and creating conditions for potentially profound insights. Experimental rigor, neurophenomenology, and no-report paradigms combined with neuroimaging are needed to further our understanding of how different styles of meditation affect predictive processing and the self, and the plasticity of the predictive mind more generally.

Emotions play a critical role in both moral deliberation and moral action. Understanding the emotions and how they ought to interact with theoretical principles is an important part of fulfilling our duty of due care in moral deliberation. By examining the Nazi police squads and the Nazi virtue of “hardness,” we can come to see how ordinary people can suppress their emotions in order to carry out morally odious tasks. We can then see that the methods we use to live with our treatment of nonhuman animals bear striking similarities to the methods used by those in the police squads. Ted Bundy, a psychopath, suggests that a lack of emotions can hinder our ability to grasp moral concepts, thus showing that even while emotions must be regulated by theory, they also play an important role in any full understanding of the significance of moral demands.
