The increase in tax revenue in Indonesia is not accompanied by an increase in tax ratio The low tax ratio indicatestax avoidance practices in Indonesia. Some tax avoidance practices can be conductedthrough transfer pricing and thin capitalization. This study is aimed to examine empirically the effect of thin capitalization as well as transfer pricing aggressiveness on tax avoidance practice in Indonesia. This study uses manufacturing companies which are listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) within the period 2013-2015. Using purposive sampling, the selected samples in this study are 90 companies, so the total sample is 270 samples. The hypothesis examination used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis of panel data. The results of this study suggest that thin capitalization is positively associated with tax avoidance, while transfer pricing aggressivenessis not associated with tax avoidance.

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence of the effect of leverage and capital intensity on tax avoidance with the proportion of independent commissioners as moderating variable. The research population is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013-2017. The method of determining the sample used was purposive sampling and obtained 200 observations. Data analysis techniques using multiple linear regression analysis and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of the analysis show that leverage has a positive effect on tax avoidance. This means that the more debt the company uses to finance assets, the higher level of tax avoidance. Capital intensity has a negative effect on tax avoidance. This means that the more capital invested by the company in the form of fixed assets, the lower level of tax avoidance. The proportion of independent commissioners does not moderate the effect of leverage and capital intensity on tax avoidance. Keywords: Leverage, capital intensity, independent commissioners, tax avoidance

This research is important to do to examine and analyze the effect of sales growth, leverage, and capital intensity on tax avoidance. The population in this study were manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) 2015-2019, totaling 182 companies. The sample was selected by using purposive sampling and selected 35 companies. This study uses secondary data in the form of financial reports which can be accessed through the website www.idx.co.id. The method of analysis used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS version 23. The results of this study can prove that sales growth, leverage, and capital intensity have an effect on tax avoidance. Increased sales growth will trigger companies to avoid paying large taxes by carrying out optimal tax planning. High leverage causes the company to pay less taxes. The higher the intensity capital, the more it can reduce the company's tax burden.
