This study reports on a pilot program conducted by members of the international Einsteinian Physics Education Research (EPER) Collaboration that aims to pool and combine innovative learning approaches in Einsteinian Physics. The collaboration also aims to disseminate learning resources and research results across a range of countries. In this study, we describe an integrated pilot programme that combines physical models and digital resources to explore secondary school students’ (Grade 10, 15 years old) conceptual understanding in the learning domain of Einsteinian physics. After the teaching units “gravity and warped time”, “gravity is geometry”, and “quantum weirdness”, we found that students had gained knowledge of key concepts in the learning domain of Einsteinian Physics. The units rely on physical models or digital learning resources. Both approaches proved successful in introducing Einsteinian concepts. By reporting on this integrated programme, we wish to share our model of an international physics education collaboration. Raising awareness for the need and possibility of introducing Einsteinian physics to school curricula, we hope to offer valuable impetus to the field of physics education that will inspire researchers and teachers alike.

Mandailing culture is part of Indonesia's diversity located in North Sumatra province. Local wisdom of Mandailing community can be used as a learning resource for students of Islamic primary school,so attitude of spiritual, social, knowledge and skills are formed. The local wisdom of the Mandailing community contains the learning resources that must be known and understood by Islamic primary school students such as (1) Ulos Mandailing, (2) Bagas Godang, (3) Amak Lampiasa, (4) Eating Kipang, (5) Marsialapari, (6) Harangan Rarangan, (7) Lubuk Larangan, (8) Marmalim Malim, (9) Gordang Sambilan, (10) Marpokat, (11) Naposo Nauli Bulung. Eleven parts of culture have meaning and values that become the basis of education to students as early as possible. The quality of learning in schools is determined by how the teacher do the learning process in class so that the learning goal can be achieved effectively and efficiently. The use of learning resources becomes one of the things that must be paid attention in the learning process. Integrating Mandailing local wisdom as a learning resource can facilitate the level of students’ understanding and can maintain ancestors’ relics that begin to fade with the changing times.

With the development of the digital age, “digital learning and innovation” is becoming more and more important in the core literacy of information technology discipline. Through the elaboration of relevant concepts, this paper explores the connotation and concrete performance of “digital learning and innovation” literacy of senior high school students, and then obtains its three manifestations: the collection and management of digital learning resources, the adaptation of digital environment, the application and innovation of digital learning resources. On this basis, a questionnaire survey was designed to understand the status of “digital learning and innovation” literacy of high school students in S Middle School of Anhui Province, and the data results were analysed. It was found that senior high school students generally have this literacy, but some students still have some problems and need teachers’ timely guidance. Therefore, this study further proposes strategies for achieving high school students’ “digital learning and innovation” literacy to assist teachers in reminding students of “digital learning and innovation literacy” in teaching.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Minecraft-game-based learning towards on 21st century skills among primary school students. This study employed quasi-experimental methodology. The dependent variable of this study was the 21st century skills. During Minecraft-game-based learning session, students were given the opportunity to build and recreate a world based on certain themes inside Minecraft world based on their creativity and imagination. The session involved a learning process of different skills and knowledge relevant to school and real world which was imitate inside the Minecraft world. The result shows that the intervention of Minecraft-game-based learning is effective in enhancing and retaining the 21st century skills among students. The implication of the study suggests that the functionality of Minecraft as a digital learning tool should be promoted as it involves students to work in a team to solve problems and have fun while acquiring and sharpening the students' 21st century skills.

The aim of this study was to identify the factors associated with school refusal behavior in primary school students. Student’s self-report and teacher’s measures were implemented; and students were recruited from 20 primary schools in six districts in Selangor, Malaysia. The survey was conducted at the end of school term in 2016, with a total of 915 students from Year 4 and Year 5 participating. The sample of students had been absent from school for more than 15% of school days in the current year. Pearson correlation shows a significant relationship between academic achievement and school satisfaction toward school refusal behavior. The findings of this study suggest that academic difficulties and dissatisfaction towards school environment could be the important risk factors for school refusal behavior. The present study underscores the importance of early detection and intervention as measures to reduce school refusal. Finally, the findings imply that the role of school factors should always be taken into account in connection with school refusal behaviour.
