PurposeThe purpose of the paper is to develop a methodological framework for supply chain risk management using the hierarchical holographic modeling approach. It analyses supply chain risks in a systematic manner and develops a hierarchical methodology for identifying, prioritizing and managing the potential supply chain risks.Design/methodology/approachThis research reviews supply chain risk management literature and develops a conceptual framework, which outlines general principles and guidelines for managing risks in a systematic manner. Through decomposition, the complexity of supply chain risk can be identified by analyzing smaller subsystems.FindingsThe paper provides a conceptual framework to identify supply chain risks from multiple overlapping perspectives. The structured filtering and ranking procedure enables decision-makers to focus on the most critical risks. The research shows that the supply chain risks associated with the sub-systems within the hierarchical structure contribute to and ultimately determine the risks of the overall supply chain system.Research limitations/implicationsThe risks associated with each sub system within the hierarchical structure can contribute to and determine the risks of the overall supply chain system. Further applications in various companies and industry sectors would benefit supply chain managers on a case-by-case basis.Practical implicationsThe hierarchical risk identification framework can serve as guidance for applications to specific supply chain systems and processes. The framework from a holistic overlapping perspective can efficiently and effectively help supply chain managers identify supply chain risks and facilitate the evaluation of the subsystem risks.Originality/valueThe paper applies system thinking in supply chain management and presents an efficient and practical framework for supply chain risk identification and evaluation.

Supply chain risk management (SCRM) is imperative to achieve business sustainability in the long-term perspective and also to increase companies’ competitiveness. ISO 31000—Risk Management explains in its latest versions the need for companies to integrate a risk management process into their business models. Complementary to this standard, ISO 31010 presents 31 risk tools to guide companies in this task. However, a question of practical application arises as to which tools should be used for each stage of the SCRM process. In view of the raised question, the main objective of this research is to select ISO 31010 tools that can be used in each of the stages (identify, analyze, and evaluate) of the risk management of the import and export process of an automotive industry located in Brazil. For this, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP method) was used in a case study to prioritize the tools to compose the SCRM. As practical implications, this study resulted in the suggestion of a structured risk management process, considering the assessment of key professionals of the department studied in the company.

AbstractThis work provides a general risk management procedure applied to synchronized supply chains. After conducting a literature review and taking the international standard ISO 28000 and ISO 31000 as a reference. The most important steps that enable organizations to carry out supply chain risk management are described. Steps such as defining the context, identifying and analyzing risks or avoiding them, controlling them and mitigating them are some of the main points of this work. On the other hand, we carried out a practical case in which the execution of this procedure is carried out in a real supply chain located in the city of Jaén. In this specific case study, the most important risks and those that require early treatment will be discussed. In addition, a series of suggestions and ideas will be established, by way of conclusions, that allow said organization to improve the results that we have obtained in risk management.

Kata kunci: Rantai Pasok, Manajemen Risiko Rantai Pasok, MitigasiABSTRACTSupply Chain is a network of companies that work together to create and deliver a product into the hands of the end user. These companies usually include suppliers, manufactur, distributors, retail / stores and logistic service companies. In the supply chain consists of various streams of information that must be managed by the company. Therefore, to create an integrated and superior supply chain, companies need to manage supply chains using supply chain management. In the supply chain, supply chain risk management is needed to control the risks that may happen in order not to disrupt supply chain. Supply chain risk management process begins with the identification of business processes in the supply chain, then identify risks in the business process. After that, a risk assessment is performed to assess the risk probability and consequences through the questionnaires. Risk identification brings out 64 risks, 33 lowrisk, 21 to medium-risk, and 10-high risk. After obtaining the risk based on its level, then do some design risk mitigation to the high-risk.Keywords: Supply chain, supply chain risk management, mitigation

There is a dearth of empirical and theoretical investigation in the field of supply chain risk management. Even though SCRM is an important component in supply chain management research, there is still a lack of understanding regarding the term and the concept to develop advantageous SCRM. In the literature of SCRM, different aspects have been discussed, for instance, risk identification, risk assessment, risk management strategies, risk monitoring, and contingency plans. Supply chain risks are increasing because of multiple outsourced partners linked with each other making it more complex, along with this, business is also uncertain, so these scenarios increase supply chain risks. Knowledge management has been used to know about the market scenarios and the information of trading partners and supply chain managers from different firms to know about the uncertainty or risks. However, the discussion shows that the efficient implication of KM capabilities on the SCRs and SCRM is still lacking. This paper provides a comprehensive conceptual framework on the effect of knowledge management within supply chain risk and supply chain risk management.

Purpose: Previously there are many studies that focused on risk management in general context and little attention was paid on how supply chain risks management effects an organization profit and performance. The main aim of our study to explore the effect of supply chain risk management on organization performance in national foods Manooabad Muridke district Sheikhupura. Methodology: This study conducted in National foods Manooabad Muridke. Data were collected by using questioner from the employees of National foods Manooabad Muridke. SPSS 22 (Statistical package for social sciences) was used to analyze the collected data. Main Findings: This study is an attempt to check the effects of supply chain risk management variables to the performance of the organization. Three main supply chain risk management variables were identified namely, supply chain risk identification, supply chain risk sources and supply chain risk mitigation. We find that risk register method is mainly used for the identification of risks in the supply chain at any level. The most important risks of our study that are supplier risks, environmental risks, political risks, markets risks, warehousing risks, and financial risks. In mitigation strategies that are good to mitigate the risk in supply chain risk avoidance measures, risk control measures and risk cooperation measures. Applications: We concluded that it is important for an organization to identify risks proactively as early as possible in the decision-making process. Different types of risks need to be identified in all process of supply chains. After all the identification of risks, the organization needs to be mitigated these risks by using different mitigate strategies plan. Originality: In the future, this study will be helpful for many organizations which deal with food items consumed by people. As in this study, we worked on supply chain risks and their management before many studies were conducted generally on risk management so this study especially focused on supply chain risks. There is a need to conduct more study in this regard in different industries so better information available to people to control risks in supply chain management.

Purpose The research on supply chain risk management (SCRM) is visibly on the rise, although its literature still lacks the state of the art that critically analyzes its content. The SCRM literature seems to require studies that utilize risk typology, sources of risk, etc. for reviewing the topic. The purpose of this paper is to bridge the gap by synthesizing the information obtained from 343 articles across 85 journals. This study also presents a critical analysis of the content of SCRM in a structured manner to identify the directions for future research. Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review (SLR) was devised and adopted, which involved the selection, classification, and evaluation of 343 research articles published over a period of 11 years (2004-2014). The content of extant SCRM literature was critically analyzed and synthesized from the perspective of the risk management process (RMP). Findings The analysis of extant literature shows that there is a marked rise in research in the SCRM area, especially after the year 2005. It was observed that not only risk but also different forms of uncertainties make supply chain (SC) operations difficult to manage. The SCRM actions yielded most benefits when their implementation was at chain or network level and managed strategically. The analysis also reveals that the manufacturing sector is most affected by risks and highly investigated by researchers. Practical implications A complete process for SCRM based on risk stratification, objectives of risk management, and RMP will be a guiding model for firms to manage risks. The research gaps identified and future directions provided here will encourage researchers and managers to devise new methods, tools, and techniques to address the risks in modern SC operations. Originality/value An SLR and risk-based content classification of SCRM literature were performed. To identify, locate, select, and analyze the SCRM literature, a structured and systematic process was adopted with some very rarely used methods such as two levels of search keywords, and strings were formulated to locate the most relevant articles in major academic databases.

Supply chain management paradigms are becoming increasingly common management perspectives all over the world due to violent global competition of trade organizations and rapid changes in technology. In recent years, thanks to the communication improvements, customers have become more conscious about purchasing goods or services. Furthermore, organizations have to be customer oriented and more flexible against the dynamism of supply chain environment which increases uncertainties in supply chain parameters. Although a considerable amount of risk factors appearing in supply chain operations, this study concentrates on detecting key supply chain risks which could cause abnormalities and occur from rapid changes in customer demand, unpredictable price fluctuations, defect variations and delivery delays and provides the correction of these problems automatically. Thus, a system dynamics model is established for determining risks. This combined approach would be helpful for integrated supply chain risk management.
