The online sources of the web, since years, are an extraordinarily important base of information and knowledge. Indeed, the web is one of the best access point to any type of information. For the users who want to share their knowledge, the wiki system is a powerful tool. Nevertheless, any system has its limits. The investigation on the contributions performance of individual contributors is yet unexplored because it is partly related to the design of wikis which is considered for collaborative work. Consequently, this has made the assessment and evaluation of individual contributions a hard task. In this research, we will attempt to emphasize the significance of distinguishing the relevant articles based on the opinions of contributors and their contributions. In this way, we will focus on the utilization of data mining using clusters analysis and k-means algorithm techniques.

In the last decade, selecting suitable web services based on users’ requirements has become one of the major subjects in the web service domain. Any research works have been done - either based on functional requirements, or focusing more on Quality of Service (QoS) - based selection. We believe that searching is not the only way to implement the selection. Selection could also be done by browsing, or by a combination of searching and browsing. In this thesis, we propose a browsing method based on the Scatter/Gather model, which helps users gain a better understanding of the QoS value distribution of the web services and locate their desired services. Because the Scatter/Gather model uses cluster analysis techniques and web service QoS data is best represented as a vector of intervals, or more generically a vector of symbolic data, we apply for symbolic clustering algorithm and implement different variations of the Scatter/Gather model. Through our experiments on both synthetic and real datasets, we identify the most efficient ( based on the processing time) and effective implementations.

In 2008, the authors’ team started an ongoing project to administer music therapy sessions for patients with neurodegenerative diseases. Studies were made conducted from the “caring” perspective to evaluate the effects of music therapy on the mental health of the patients (Inomata, 2008a, Inomata 2008b) and on the role of nurses in integrative medicine (Inomata, 2008c). On the basis of the findings from these studies, music therapy programs were designed and conducted to meet the different needs of various neurodegenerative diseases. This project was the first ever reported music therapy initiative undertaken as a multi-disciplinary collaborative work and in partnership with a patients’ group (Saji, 2010). The findings from four years of running the project are summarized as follows: (1) Music therapy helped maintain/improve the QOL(Quality of Life) level of neurodegenerative disease patients, which would otherwise deteriorate with the progress of symptoms; (2) There was an improvement in the patients’ psychological and spiritual health as exemplified by the expansion of consciousness and rebuilding of relationships; (3) The project increased the feeling of partnership among the multi-disciplinary team members; (4) Care providers shared values such as self-belief and respect for both the self and others; (5) Caring for patients’ emotional side by being compassionate and staying with them and/or listening to them resulted in a stronger care provider-patient bond; (6) Nurses were engaged in the building a healing environment as “healers,” and the patients found more hope in everyday life.

This article uses bibliographic analysis techniques to examine the papers in the Web of Science database that have citation links to key operations research/management science (OR/MS) journals. The research identified the journals and papers in the environmental domains which cite these OR/MS journals and identify the key journals, papers, and themes. This research shows that environmental disciplines are becoming more important relative to the business and engineering domains that predominated in the previous years. However, much of the citation of OR/MS journals is for techniques like data envelopment analysis (DEA) which are used to conduct research rather than directly model environmental problems. Of the modelling techniques used to address problems in the environmental domains, MCDM methods are the most often cited, reflecting the importance of MCDM with the decision support systems (DSS) field. There are also significant numbers of applications relating to logistics and energy which cite OR/MS papers. Further research is needed to clarify the role of OR/MS techniques in the environmental sector, a domain outside the traditional areas of OR/MS application.

The purpose of this study is to develop a distance personalized teaching platform. The web data mining is used for the construction of the system and by analyzing the character of web data mining (WDM) and the essence of personalization teaching and instruction, based on WDM, The system contains knowledge base, individual database, WDM and web server four modules. The web data mining is used for the construction of the system and by analyzing the character of web data mining (WDM) and the essence of personalization teaching and instruction. Simulation results show that model has important enlightenment and pushing effect for promoting the individual service and improving teaching quality of modern distance education.

The spiritual dimension of health is the subject of much controversy; since it is not seen as a purely scientific and quantifiable aspect of health. However, it is exactly this quality of spiritual health that makes the thorough examination of the concept worthwhile. Furthermore, a comprehensive assessment of the theoretical concepts associated with it should be prioritized. The present study is a combination of a literature review followed by a series of expert interviews. First, articles addressing the different aspects of spiritual health were identified and acquired from academic databases. After a thorough assessment and evaluation, the findings were listed and prioritized in order to determine the most important aspects of spiritual health. Then, the most significant features were specified and interpreted. The interpretations were then sent to a group of experts for assessment and evaluation. The expert reviews and comments were then collected and analyzed in order to refine and improve the primary interpretations. The responsibilities of the health sector do not end with the provision and maintenance of the physical aspects of health or even the non-medical population. It includes not only promoting spiritual health in health sector graduates and personnel, but also conducting profound scientific studies, providing documentation, and interpreting the evidence for beneficiaries. However, establishing a new university major to train professionals exclusively for pursuing this objective and even adding new university credits in this field does not seem to be necessary from the point of view of experts and studies. In addition to providing the education necessary for students and personnel of each organization, providing adequate spiritual health and promoting the essential education and related skills are also the responsibilities of the health sector. Instead, it is suggested that an active secretariat be established to oversee the promotion of spiritual health in all sectors using the minimum independent facilities and manpower.

Prior research on collaboration and creativity often assumes that individuals choose to collaborate to improve the quality of their output. Given the growing role of collaboration and autonomous teams in creative work, the validity of this assumption has important implications for organizations. We argue that in the presence of a collaboration credit premium—when the sum of fractional credit allocated to each collaborator exceeds 100%—individuals may choose to work together even when the project output is of low quality or when its prospects are diminished by collaborating. We test our argument on a sample of economists in academia using the norm of alphabetical ordering of authors’ surnames on academic articles as an instrument for selection into collaboration. This norm means that economists whose family name begins with a letter from the beginning of the alphabet receive systematically more credit for collaborative work than economists whose family name begins with a letter from the end of the alphabet. We show that, in the presence of a credit premium, individuals may choose to collaborate, even if this choice decreases output quality. Thus, collaboration can create a misalignment between the incentives of creative workers and the prospects of the project.

WEB sites are playing very vital role in information dissemination. Most of the businesses are using their WEB sites to promote market and conduct business. The quality of the WEB sites has indirect relationship with quantum of business conduct by the industrial establishments. Quality of a web site is based on number of characteristics; computation of the same in quantitative terms is a complex process. Structure of a WEB site plays a vital role in hosting the content in most comprehensive manner. In this paper the subjecting of the WEB to data mining and determining the structures contained in the WEB site is presented. The structures are evaluated to find the quality of the same individually and also combined considering all the structures that are mined. A method is presented in this paper using which the quality of a web site is computed considering the structure of the WEB site alone.

Customer satisfaction is the key secret of success for all industries regardless of whether it is web enabled or not. This paper focuses the role of web mining in achieving a viable edge in business. Web mining is becoming the tool for success for those who adopt electronic means of operation for conducting their business. Web mining is the application of data mining techniques to discover patterns from the Web through content mining, structure mining, and usage mining. Web mining can contribute to a large extent in gaining a competitive advantage in business. Business goals should be well understood.
