Throughput Dependence on SNR in IEEE802.11 WLAN Systems

This chapter seeks to present the dependence of Throughput on Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) in IEEE802.11 WLAN Systems. High throughput and low delays are presented as the requirements for indicating good performance of WLAN systems. The multiple communication data rates specified by the physical layer of IEEE802.11 WLANs which vary depending on the SNR observed is shown to appreciably influence the throughput experienced by the users. Cross layer modelling principles which simplifies the process of estimating the dependence of throughput on SNR is presented. Recent research findings which apply cross layer modelling principles to model the dependence of throughput on SNR only is presented along with future research directions.

Customer engagement is one of the most debated topics in marketing literature. The great interest of the scientific community resulted in a large amount of research on this topic making it difficult for scholars to understand how to really contribute to advance the research. Based on these considerations, this chapter aims to provide an overview of the research findings and trends of previous studies to guide the researcher to the most influential works, results, and issues that need more insights. In particular, this chapter offers a literature review on customer engagement and retail customer engagement using bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping study. Results show the most productive authors, most cited publications, most frequent words, and clusters of related words. The analysis provides a description of the state of the art of retail customer engagement and suggests future research directions.

Routing is an essential mechanism for proper functioning of large networks, and routing protocols make use of routing metrics to determine optimal paths. The design of routing metrics is critical for achieving high throughput and we begin this chapter by proposing the design principles for routing metrics. These design principles are for ensuring the proper functioning of the network and achieving high throughput. We continue by giving a detail analysis of the existing routing metrics. We also look at the pitfalls of the existing routing metrics. We conclude the chapter by outlining the future research directions.

Because the majority of research has been conducted on walking and running, the material presented in this chapter will focus exclusively on these modes of gait. Abstract This paper provides a systematic review of the evidence linking housing and health. This involved a review of 59 peer-reviewed journal papers, that included case studies on the health impacts of housing and were published in English, in the past decade (2010–2020). Our systematic review of the literature suggested most of the research on the health impacts of housing employed quantitative methodology, were conducted in the Global North and were published in Medical and Health Sciences journals. Research findings demonstrated four key areas through which housing impacts health: neighbourhood or context, physical building, housing market and housing policy. This paper provides valuable information to researchers for future research directions on the associations between housing and health and to decision-makers and planners for planning healthy cities.


Within the last few decades, wireless connectivity has experienced an exponential growth. With far more features than 4G communications, next-generation (5G) will soon be available worldwide. In the year 2027 to 2030, the sixth- generation (6G) wireless system, fully supported by artificial intelligence, will become the dominant paradigm for wireless communication. Beyond 5G, the main factors to consider are higher system capacity, greater data rates, reduced latency, enhanced security, and improved quality of service (QoS) compared to current 5G systems. In this paper, we describe the strategy for future 6G wireless networks, emerging technologies and the architecture within which they will operate. This paper focuses on key performance indicators, applications, new services, and key technologies that could enable 6G networks. By presenting a new perspective on future research directions, this article will make a significant contribution to future research directions.

This research aims to examine football fans' awareness of their team sponsors and to compare sponsorship awareness between season ticket holders and casual spectators. Data was collected from among fans of a professional football team and results revealed that spectators recall 'top of mind' those sponsors with their logo displayed on the team shirts. Thus, being visible from the stadium stands is important to ensure recall rates. Fans are typically able to properly recognise sponsors and non-sponsors of their team. However, some competitor brands engaged in football sponsorship are incorrectly recognised as sponsors of a team. Finally, the number of brands recalled and recognised correctly by season ticket holders is significantly higher than for casual spectators. The research findings, managerial implications, limitations and future research directions are discussed.
