Enterprise Information systems implementation is one of the most challenging parts of IT strategy for an organization, since implementation brings in efficiency in the system and justifies the investments made. Therefore, it becomes increasingly important to study the perspectives of implementation to understand the current dynamics. The purpose of this paper is twofold, first is to explore the type of literature that exists in information system implementation and secondly to determine the research methodologies incorporated therein for the information system field's implementation in specific. The basic content analysis is done to review the articles on information system implementation. A total of 47 articles were selected from peer reviewed journals and conferences. The study was conducted to assess the methodology used, the strategies followed along with the issues and challenges faced in the implementation. It presents an arena of the studies done in information system implementation in past 20 years (typically 1993 to 2013). The IMPLEMENT framework has been proposed to synthesize the literature finding for smooth functioning of IS implementation process. The factors influencing the adoption of information system innovation are described. The comprehensive framework for information innovation process is developed. This framework is then mapped to IMPLEMENT framework. This study would encourage the practitioners in the information systems domain to improve upon their organizational capability and incorporate other best practices.

Enterprise information system is based on the condition of the computer network technology information platform. It has an important value for enterprises to enhance its brand influence, enhance customer management, promote the development of e-commerce processes, promote enterprise management level, adapt to the current situation of information and other aspects of economic development. There are some problems in the current enterprise information system construction. The current information system should make scientific plan, expand information systems development space, play a catalytic role in the government promote, emphasis on information security, strengthen of human resources and team building starting implementation of enterprise information systems building strategy.

Nowadays, organization development is needed to handle fast-changing market, organizations can utilize information system as their main support for creating business processes with effectiveness and efficiency. One of information system types that can implement to organization in order to provide the competitive advantage and manage the business resource is Enterprise Information Systems (EIS). The superiority of EIS is integration of all areas of business in organization and improvement of business process. This paper is systematic literature review paper that will present new trend of architecture, network and integration of EIS to support the success of EIS implementation. We conducted deep-review of 15 literatures as main data in this research and found enterprise networking are Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Social Network (ESN); The enterprise architectures are The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), ISO/IEC 15288, ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010 and Axiomatic Design (AD); The enterprise integrations are Extensible Markup Language (XML), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Could Computing.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to articulate clear understanding about the role of enterprise information systems (EIS) in developing innovative business practices. Particularly, it aims to explore the different ways that make EIS enables innovation development. Design/methodology/approach – The study adopted exploratory case study, based on qualitative approach. Investigations included two case studies each involved interviewing a number of senior information technology staff, working at these cases. Findings – The paper provides empirical insights about the EIS role in enabling innovation. The analysis of the case studies revealed that integrating an EIS with other system(s) or with digital devices can provide new practices that could not be easily available without these technologies. The study also found that applying data analytics tools into data accumulated from EIS, to extract new insights, lead to innovative practices. Practical implications – The study provides a set of recommendations for organizations interested to maximize the benefits from their investments in EIS. Originality/value – The paper provides evidences from cases in United Arab Emirates for the EIS role in enabling business innovation.
