In this chapter, optical luminescent biological objects diagnostics methods and biotissues are considered. According to the previously developed method, excitation and photoluminescence spectra agricultural plants seeds, including cereals, legumes, fodder, technical, and vegetable, were measured. The typical excitation spectrum lies in the range of 355-500 nm and has two maxima: the main one at 424 nm and the side one at 485 nm. The luminescence spectrum lies in the range of 420-650 nm and has a maximum in the region of 500-520 nm. The maximum luminescence is less pronounced than in the excitation spectrum. The measured spectral luminescence characteristics forage plants seeds by scarification. Due to the scarification forage plants seeds spectral characteristics increase. In Galega seeds with multiple scarification, observed qualitative changes in the excitation spectrum was associated with the appearance of a new maximum at a wavelength of 423 nm. Similarly, for clover seeds, the obtained results can be used to create seed diagnostics devices.

Cuscus is an arboreal animal whose habitat is in the forest with the type of food consumed are fruits, leaf shoots, and agricultural plants. Animal manure can also be used as organic fertilizer for forage plants. This study aims to determine the growth response of Setaria grass (Setaria sphacelata) given a dose of cuscus manure fertilizer with banana and avocado consumption. The study was designed in a CRD with 3 treatments. The treatments were P0 = without fertilizer (100% soil), P1 = 40 g/polybag of cuscus manure with banana consumption, and P2 = 40 g/polybag of cuscus manure with avocado consumption. Planting is done by pols on polybags measuring 30 x 25 cm. The results showed that the highest plant height of Setaria grass was found in P2 with an average of 101.70, then P1 was 101.47 and P0 was 71.16 cm/week. The results were the same for the number of leaves and tillers, P2 showed significantly higher results (P<0.05), followed by P1 and control. The application of organic fertilizer of cuscus manure with the consumption of bananas and avocados can increase the growth of Setaria grass.

Abstract The absorption and luminescence characteristics of a group of newly synthesized methyl esters of 2-alkyl (p-substituted-aryl) -aminomethylene-3,4-dihydro-1(2 H)-naphthalenone-4-carboxylic acids have been investigated. The studied compounds may exist in three tautomeric forms. On the basis of comparison of their electronic spectra to those of similar substances, the observed substituent effect on the position of the UV-VIS absorption bands, the IR spectra and the results of PPP-SCF-CI quantum-chemical calculations it is concluded that the keto tautomer predominates in solution.

The results of the study of the spectral characteristics and photo cathodoluminescence zinc tungstate crystals subjected to heat treatment in an oxygen atmosphere, or flows of high-energy irradiation of oxygen ions. It was observed that additional introduction of oxygen leads to decline in luminescence’s effectiveness. It was discovered, that introduction of oxygen by thermal processing leads to changes in excitation spectrum. Decline of excitation effectiveness proportional to increase of excitation quanta energy from 4.5 to 6.5 eV was observed; in the meantime, in the unprocessed crystals it declined by only 25-30%. The effect can be explained by destruction of complex defects with luminescence centers during introduction of additional oxygen. It was demonstrated, that characteristic oxygen’s depth of entry during thermal processing is 20 nm.

Investigated are the structure, luminescence, and IR absorption spectra of (Lu1−xEux)2(WO4)3 solid solutions in a wide range of Eu concentrations (0 ≤ x ≤ 1). A sequential replacement of two types of crystalline phases occurs with an increase in Eu concentration. The orthorhombic phase (Pbcn space group) of tungstate solid solutions is observed at 0 ≤ x < 0.5. A monoclinic phase (C2/c space group) arises along with the orthorhombic one in the range of 0.5 ≤ x ≤ 0.8, while at x > 0.8, the solid solution has a monoclinic structure. The correspondence between the structure and spectral characteristics of these compounds is established. A change in the structural state results in a change in luminescence spectra, as well as in the spectra of luminescence excitation of tungstates. The isotherm of water adsorption by the tungstate samples and its effect on their spectral and structural characteristics are studied in view of the wetting ability of (Lu1−xEux)2(WO4)3 solid solutions. It is established that the maximum luminescence under the resonant excitation of Eu3+ ions is observed in the samples with a monoclinic C2/c structure at x ~0.9.

Study object included leaves of deciduous trees in the Krasnodar Territory at different stages of senescing visually manifested in their color alteration. Study subject was the optical characteristics of light diffused reflection from green, yellow-green and yellow leaves of deciduous trees in the Krasnodar Territory during the autumn season. Work objective lies in identifying the possibility to establish differences between green leaves of deciduous trees, and yellow-green and yellow leaves of deciduous trees using the terrain multispectral and hyperspectral sounding methods, as well as collecting information on spectral characteristics of the diffused light being reflected from various biological objects. Results of quantitative and qualitative analysis of data obtained through the diffused light reflectance spectroscopy from leaves of deciduous trees are presented. Narrow-band vegetation indices mNDVI705, mSR705, CRI1, SIPI and PSRI were used in quantitative analysis of data on the diffused light reflection spectra obtained from green, yellow-green and yellow leaves of deciduous trees. It was revealed that the use of narrow-band vegetation indices in the remote sensing algorithms using multi- and hyperspectral cameras makes it possible to rather accurately distinguish leaves at different stages of senescing. Optical characteristics of diffused light reflection from green, yellow-green and yellow leaves of deciduous trees, which are typical species of trees in urban and rural plantings in the Krasnodar Territory, are described for the first time

The complexes of europium with two schiff base ligands [2-carboxybenzaldehyde- diethylenetriamine (1), 2-carboxybenzaldehyde-triethylenetetramine (2)] were in-situ synthesized. The formation of complexes was confirmed by the luminescence spectra. The luminescence spectra of two europium complexes were investigated in solid and in DMSO solution, respectively. The results show that two europium complexes exhibit low luminescence emission. And organic solvent DMSO could quench the luminescence of europium complexes.
