Location-based mobile services (LBMS) are at present an ever growing trend, as found in the latest and most popular mobile applications launched. They are, indeed, supported by the hasty evolution of mobile devices capabilities, namely smart phones, which are becoming truer mobile pocket-computers; by users demand, always searching for new ways to benefit from technology, besides getting more contextualized and user-centred services; and, lastly, by market drive, which sees mobile devices as a dedicated way to reach customers, providing profile-based publicity, products, discounts and events. With e-commerce, products and services started arriving to potential customers through desktop computers, where they can be bought and fast delivered to a given address. However, expressions such as “being mobile”, “always connected”, “anytime anywhere” that already characterize life in the present will certainly continue to do so in the near future. Meanwhile, mobile devices centred commerce services seem to be the next step. Therefore, this paper presents a system architecture designed for location-based e-commerce systems. These systems, where location plays the most important role, enable a remote products/services search, based in user parameters: after a product search, shops with that products are returned in the search results and are displayed in a map, around the user present location; and services like obtaining more information, reserving and purchasing are made available as well. This concept represents a mix between traditional client-oriented commerce and faceless mass-oriented e-commerce, enabling a proximity-based user-contextualized system, being well capable of conveying significant advantages and facilities to both service-providers/retailers and users.

This document offers data involving mobile security exploitation penetration testing. Compared to desktop computers the expansion of mobile devices is tremendous in this years. Mobile de- vices are integrated into daily activities of people’s life. Mobile Applications became a part of our daily lives in order that virtually each internet or desktop application may be executed from a smartphone i.e. social networking, online banking, gaming applications and many others. This document also includes about different types of Mobile security threats, Types of penetration testing, Phases of penetrating testing, Principles of testing and Security risk assessment model. Due to the expansion of mobile devices now a days, it opens vast scope for attackers to steal sensitive information or to perform other kinds of attacks on these devices . The main purpose is to know the vulnerability and technics that ac- customed to find vulnerabilities in mobile applications. In the paper we have studied differing kinds of security risks concerned in mobile devices and mobile applications and regarding varied defensive mechanism to stop these security risk in mobile devices.

Globally, those who have traditionally been adversely impacted by the digital divide due to lack of access to computing technologies such as desktop computers, are also the ones who have been shown to have high adoption of mobile devices. If open educational resources (OER) are to have the envisaged wide impact, it is necessary to look at the role mobile applications and mobile app markets play in the OER movement. In this chapter, we link mobile applications and OER and discuss the role mobile app markets play in facilitating open-access learning initiatives. This is done by exploring OER and mobile learning definitions, benefits, and barriers; and comparing and contrasting mobile apps across a set of variables including purpose and resource format.

Coupons have been used as a sales promotion tool for several decades. As mobile devices are increasingly becoming consumers' personal companions, the role of coupons is changing. Mobile coupons (i.e., coupons delivered via mobile devices) allow companies to deliver time- and location-specific offers to potential customers. Building on previous knowledge of traditional paper coupons and emerging research in mobile communication adoption, some scholars have applied attitudinal and technology-acceptance models to explore consumers' adoption of mobile coupons. Others have explored the design and mechanism of mobile coupons, or the role of mobile coupons as a unique marketing communication channel. In the near future, as consumers' adoption of mobile communication matures, we can expect research on mobile coupons to grow. The broader influences of this tool on consumer behavior merit further exploration.

This article will focus on the current state of the art in the deployment of multi-agent systems on mobile devices and smart phones. A number of platforms will be described, along with some practical issues concerning the deployment of agents in mobile applications.


This empirical study was aimed to explore the factors of food ordering mobile application (FOMA) services perception and usage among the customers in Chennai city. This research was adopted exploratory and empirical research design and structured questionnaire was used to gather the perception of users residing in Chennai city. The data collected were subjected to analysis using statistical tools such as percentage analysis, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, cluster and discriminant analysis has been applied to explore the findings. The result indicates that seven factors has been extracted out of 20 FOMA services perception variables and three cluster groups were significantly classified among the users of FOMA services. The researchers concluded that online food ordering service providers are suggested to attract more food suppliers in nook and corner of the city to attract and serve more customers in near future to meet the expected increase in the demand.

Mobile devices and applications are expected to have a significant impact on teaching and learning in the near future. Yet colleges and universities are currently facing severe budget constraints and discretionary funding is restricted for new initiatives. The question addressed in this paper is: “What strategy should an institution of higher learning with limited resources use in adapting the capabilities of mobile devices to benefit its academic programs?” To help answer this question, students were surveyed to identify their perceptions on the importance of a selected set of mobile learning functions, their experience with using those functions, their recommendation for a mobile learning adoption strategy, and information on the particular mobile devices they possess. The recommended strategy was “pick and choose special capabilities to develop” with the selected functions being (1) Receive alerts and reminders about assignments and appointments concerning the course being taken; (2) Communicate individually with faculty, an advisor, or other students using voice, email, or text messaging; (3) Post or reply to items in a poll, discussion board, or other application; and (4) Download and review lesson materials from a course being taken. Other recommendations included techniques for faculty and student support services as well as institutional policies for limiting models of mobile devices for use in courses, making online courseware for laptops and desktops the same as mobile learning courseware, and making the opportunity for mobile learning optional.

M-learning or mobile learning is defined as learning through mobile apps, social interactions and online educational hubs via Internet or network using personal mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones. However, in such open environment examination security is most challenging task as students can exchange mobile devices or also can exchange information through network during examination. This paper aims to design secure examination management system for m- learning and provide appropriate mechanism for anti- impersonation to ensure examination security. The users are authenticated through OTP. To prevent students from exchanging mobile devices during examination, system re-authenticates students automatically through face recognition at random time without interrupting the test. The system also provides external click management i.e. prevent students from accessing online sites and already downloaded files during examination.

Rapidly increasing mobile data traffic have placed a significant burden on mobile Internet networks. Due to limited network capacity, a mobile network is congested when it handles too much data traffic simultaneously. In turn, some customers leave the network, which induces a revenue loss for the mobile service provider. To manage demand and maximize revenue, we propose a dynamic plan control method for the mobile service providers under connection-speed-restriction pricing. This method allows the mobile service provider to dynamically set the data plans’ availability for potential customers’ new subscriptions. With dynamic plan control, the service provider can adjust data network utilization and achieve high customer satisfaction and a low churn rate, which reflect high service supply chain performance. To find the optimal control policy, we transform the high-dimensional dynamic programming problem into an equivalent mixed integer linear programming problem. We find that dynamic plan control is an effective tool for managing demand and increasing revenue in the long term. Numerical evaluation with a large European mobile service provider further supports our conclusion. Furthermore, when network capacity or potential customers’ willingness to join the network changes, the dynamic plan control method generates robust revenue for the service provider.
