My original intention, when I was a member of the staff of a post-primary school, was to carry out an investigation into the Post-primary Examination system in this country, but on my appointment to my present position at the beginning of this year, I decided that the best and quickest way of becoming acquainted with the Intermediate School system in New Zealand would be to make a survey of the schools of this country as they are at present.

With cloud computing's powerful computing power, many end users can create a variety of effective network applications using the cloud's services without having to worry about computing technology or access methods. Based on CC technology's on-demand service characteristics and unlimited dynamic expansion capability, this article designs and implements a shared network examination system. In the Web mode, the functions of receiving and distributing examination data, identity verification, online examination, and examination result collection can be realized using the SaaS deployment structure, MVC three-tier architecture, Java modeling language, XFIE, JSON, web service, DES, and other technologies combined with MySQL database. At the same time, the improved parallel genetic annealing algorithm (IPGAA) is proposed as a CC resource scheduling strategy. The IPGAA has better adaptability in the CC system with various cloud resources because it combines the fast global search ability of the genetic algorithm (GA) with the local search ability of the simulated annealing algorithm. Simulation tests show that the IPGAA is effective.

In 2017, the Ministry of Education promulgated the General High School English Curriculum Standards (2017 Edition), which stressed the importance of affective factors in English learning. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as student questionnaires and interviews to explore the motivational function of affective factors and its negative influence upon English reading of 80 students with low English reading ability in a high school in Jiujiang. The results of the study show that reading anxiety is common among high school students, the internal motivation for English reading is weak and the external motivation is strong, the self-efficacy of reading is not clear and firm. The study further found that the great academic pressure and high school students’ self-awareness which are subject to external environment, language and other factors cause high school students’ anxiety, the international social environment and examination system have a large impact on high school student’ external motivation. In order to improve the English reading ability of high school students, this research tries to make corresponding suggestions for teachers, students and other aspects from the perspective of affective factors. As for the English teachers, they should set up diversified activities and increase the interest of teaching content in order to promote emotions with knowledge. As for the students, they should clarify their tasks to enhance learning motivation. The school should set up mental health courses and psychological counseling room and provide psychological training for teachers. Then, parents should try to communicate with students and learn to ask for help rather than paying too much attention to students’ performance.

This paper entitled “Analysis of Grade 10 English textbook with reference to curriculum and examination” was an attempt to explore the relationship among curriculum, text book and examination system. It aims to explore the contents in the textbook which were assumed by curriculum and evaluation procedures specified in the examination system. The contents and exposure sufficiency to develop intended language competency in learners were attempted to analyze. Another important concern of this paper was to explore the opinions of school level English teachers, who are the keys to materialize the textbook in relation to curriculum and examination system. Phenomenological research design was used in the study and the data was collected through interview, group discussion and interaction. The collected data were critically analyzed by developing themes. The findings of the study depict that there is insufficiency of the contents in the prescribed textbook for grade 10 in the experience of teachers and students. Introduction: The way medical students learn is largely determined by the way they are assessed. There is a need to rationalize the examination system by giving due emphasis on internal assessment, and supplementing the traditional short case examination with more valid and reliable instruments for the assessment of clinical skills. To compare the Aims And Objectives: marks/score pattern between short case and OSCE and to study the students and faculty feedback about short case method of assessment versus OSCE. This study was conducted on 60 nal year MBBS students at the end of thei Methodology: r clinical posting in skin department of IRT Perundurai Medical College Hospital, Erode. Clinical assessment was rst done on short case and then by administering OSCE. The results were analyzed using ANOVA. Two scenarios were chosen namely Hansen's disease and psoriasis. Marks obtained by the students were only Results: marginally higher in OSCE than short case assessment. Students performed better in OSCE leprosy. 26 out of 60 students scored 70% or above by short case method whereas 32 out of 60 scored 70% or above by OSCE method. The student's feedback regarding both in general was positive. Students preferred short case assessment in terms of method and time. Logistical difculties were noted in OSCE. The practical Conclusion: clinical examinations are of key importance in the assessment of clinical competence of medical students. Students perform better in OSCE because it is objective, fair, unbiased, without examiners marking variability, without fear of examiner and anxiety. Students and faculty sensitization regarding nuances of OSCE is the need of the hour.

The 19th century was a period of rapid change in English medical education. Little is known about the important contribution of smaller, hospital-based, provincial medical schools which sprang up to provide important practical training opportunities for students, typically as a foundation for further training and examination in London. One such example is the 1834 Brighton ‘School of Practical Medicine and Surgery’, which was based at the Sussex County Hospital and recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons and Worshipful Society of Apothecaries. Unlike many other 19th century medical schools, the history of the Brighton school is largely undocumented. Although it remained dependent upon London through the ‘College and Hall’ examination system, this article shows that the school's pragmatic and adaptive educational approach allowed it to play an important role in educating future doctors in Brighton from 1834 into at least the early 20th century.
