This chapter focuses on analysing system utilisation patterns, in connection with the use of the “Movement and Training” knowledge management system. Developed with the aim of supporting teaching courses at university level, or more precisely their preparation, realisation and follow-up, this web-based system is free of charge and has been available to a general educational audience since 2005. The authors present an analytic approach, which, in the first instance and from the user’s perspective, illustrates whether the intended utility and added values for instructors and learners have been achieved. A further intention was to identify any potential barriers that would obstruct utilisation of the system. In combination with basic theoretical principles and empirical findings relating to knowledge management, the authors derive implications for modifying the system with the aim of facilitating its future use.

<p> The level of consumption of animal protein in Indonesia has been increasing. Unfortunately, this increase has not been balanced by the adequate rise stock production.  The use of closed house system for broiler production is very potential to contribute the increase of protein source. The purpose of this research is to build a knowledge management system broiler production management closed house system. Web-based system developed using PHP programming language, and Protégé as processing knowledge representation. This research has developed the concept of knowledge management system with ontology model of semantic network, among the results of this research is a conceptual model, knowledge maps, and prototype production management knowledge management website broiler closed house system. Knowledge management system is equipped with recording system applications. This application is useful to be able to see results in the production of a period of production. The prototype knowledge management website provides links consultancy services for farmers who want to ask about production management. The concept of knowledge management systems can be used as a basis for building a semantic website that can model the process and rules management broiler production closed house system.</p>

ncreasing the number of vehicles in our country into fertile fields to increase revenue for workshop owners. The increase is also a job opportunity for outomotiv vocational students to get jobs. Implementation of knowledge management into a solution to improve the quality of human resources, especially the graduates smk. Knowledge management is an attempt to increase knowledge useful in the organization. Knowledge management is not only an arrangement of knowledge, but rather the management of an organization with a particular focus on knowledge. Implementation of knowledge management with a web-based system, is expected to be a solution of the needs of the flow of knowledge that is not hindered by time and place limits. The methodology used is contingency factor analysis to get the knowledge management system model. The resulting knowledge management system model supports the Socialization, Externalization, Combination, Internalization (SECI) process. Knowledge management system was developed as a means of knowledge sharing at the workshop of Vocational High School Vocational School.

This paper presents an approach to enhance various intelligent services of a Web-based collaborative knowledge management system. The proposed approach applies the two widely-used argumentation technologies, namely IBIS and Toulmin’s argumentation schemes, to structurally capture the deliberation and collaboration occurred during the consensual knowledge creation process. It employs RDF and OWL as its underlying knowledge representation language with well-defined semantics and reasoning mechanisms. Users can easily create knowledge using a simple corresponding graphical notation with machine-processable semantics. Derivation of implicit knowledge, similar concept discovery, as well as semantic search, are also enabled. In addition, the proposed approach incorporates the term suggestion function for assisting users in the knowledge creation process by computing the relevance score for each relevant term, and presenting the most relevant terms to users for possible term reusing or equivalence concepts mapping. To ensure the knowledge consistency, a logical mechanism for validating conflicting arguments and contradicting concepts is also developed. Founded on the proposed approach, a Web-based system, namely ciSAM, is implemented and available for public usage.

The development of science in the era of globalization is happening so quickly. The ability of humans to develop a variety of science (knowledge) is getting better with the tacit and explicit knowledge. From this development both tacit and explicit knowledge can be combined and varied to a Knowledge Management System. PT SCF (Limited) Palembang branch is a company engaged in the field of inspection and certification services. The problem faced by this company is that the process and media for sharing and transferring knowledge between colleagues is still small and not yet entrenched. This condition makes the company less effective in terms of producing and disseminating knowledge to staff quickly and accurately. Documentation of daily activities and routines are not carried out in a planned and integrated manner. Each department carries out its own activities in its own way, for example storing documentation on a CD, as well as a piece of paper. So the authors are interested in analyzing and designing Web Knowledge Management System. The method used is the object analysis and design method. While the tools for modeling using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The results obtained are a prototype web Knowledge Management System (KMS) that can be a media of information and knowledge sharing related to employee acceptance and training

Web based knowledge management systems have opened new arrays in the present web based world. This paper proposed a web based knowledge management system (WBKMS) for university libraries that will support the creation, organization, storage, dissemination and utilization of the institutions digital knowledge assets. Existing web based knowledge management systems were surveyed and a model framework was developed keeping in view the prevailing loopholes in the present systems. This research will improve staff professionalism and will help in achieving coordination with other libraries and library users.

In view of the need of using knowledge management (KM) systems for learning and training, this chapter discusses six major design factors of such KM systems based on learning literatures, namely media of representation, multiple perspectives, complexity, user control, online support and navigation aids. Their implications toward learning and training effectiveness as well as various strategies and implementation methods are investigated in four categories: content, motivation, support and accessibility. It is believed that by considering the factors involved and their potential impacts on learning in the design of KM systems, the effectiveness of using these systems for learning, training and problem solving will be significantly improved.
