Compared to the supply chain management of other business domains, agricultural supply chain management is affected with issues such as diversity of production and demand, the bulkiness of produce, perishability, seasonality, harvest uncertainty, and climate complexity. These issues are more prominent in rural agricultural sector. Availability of mature supply chain management processes and systems can enhance the productivity of rural agricultural communities. This chapter proposes a five-stage capability maturity model for the implementation and maintenance of supply chain management processes in farm management information systems. The capability maturity model is a valuable aid to determine the digitized supply chain process' ability to consistently and continuously achieve improvement and organizational objectives. The model is proposed based on the findings of the analysis of 121 supply chain management software in the farming sector, the Capability Maturity Model by the Software Engineering Institute, and the Supply Chain Process Management Maturity Model.

Objective This research is to examine the supply chain management process carried out by fishermen in searching for fish in the Brondong archipelago - Lamongan East Java fishing port. In this study, researchers used a qualitative case study method with miles and hubberman analysis techniques (data reduction, data display and data verification). In this research, researchers look directly at the supply chain management process carried out there. In this study, researchers also examined the process that is adapted to Islamic Sharia, so that the supply chain process that is there can be said as a halal activity and also thayyiban. In accordance with the research objective, which is to examine halal supply chain management, researchers found that the process carried out by the fishermen who were there in carrying out their activities could be said to be halal and also tayiban

In this study the improvement of supply chain process based on the supply chain management has been considered. In this regard,  two vital factor of time and cost  has been  taken into account to optimize the process of product delivery. To harness the available methods, among the all options, the construction company’s integration has been elicited in order to improve the business process by concentrating best logistic and supply chain factors to improve the construction quality and standards.  By ensuing the proposed methods, the importance of supply chain relationships in construction companies as well as efficiency of the flowed information in terms of relevant data to improve customer and supplier relation has been manifested. In the strategies, followed aforementioned trends, the best potential tools for improvement of constructed companies have been identified. At the end, implementing the mentioned strategies, the obtained results attested the quality performance and supply chain management expediency.

This paper provides a detailed overview of the block chain technology and how it can be used to build a foolproof system in eliminating counterfeit products in pharmaceutical industries. From the last decade, pharmaceutical companies are facing difficulties in tracking their products during the supply chain process, allowing the counterfeiters to add their fake medicines into the market. Counterfeit drugs are analysed as a very big challenge for the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. As indicated by the statistics, yearly business loss of around $200 billion is reported by US pharmaceutical companies due to these counterfeit drugs. These drugs may not help the patients to recover the disease but have many other dangerous side effects. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) survey report, in under-developed countries every 10th drug use by the consumers is counterfeit and has low quality. Hence, a system that can trace and track drug delivery at every phase is needed to solve the counterfeiting problem. The block chain has the full potential to handle and track the supply chain process very efficiently. In this paper, we have proposed and implemented a block chain based drug supply chain management. Our proposed system block chain-based drug supply chain management for consumers. In this drug supply chain management the system is deployed using Hyper ledger fabrics which is capable of continuously monitor and track the drug delivery process in the smart pharmaceutical industry. Finally, we also perform several tests to check the efficiency and usability of our proposed system.

The purpose of this chapter is to develop a conceptual insight and an integrated framework to global supply chain management through strategic aspects of business philosophy as it pertains to the small- to mid-sized supplier. Primary consideration is given to characteristics of the integrated supply chain and the necessity of adaptation in managing the supply chain in order to attain competitive advantage. A review of the current literature and an analysis of the supply chain in changing global markets emphasize the relative importance of strategically managing the supply chain process given the limited resources of the small- to mid-sized firm.

This case aims to provide information on the importance of supply chain management in creating and positioning of brands of products by companies. Supply chain management entails configuration, collaboration, and coordination. The company that uses only costing for creating brands without resource availability exposes its supply chain to an insufferable risk. Consequently, the company hoping to create its brand in the world market needs to be more resilient in the supply chain process and resources. A strategic and holistic approach to supply chain in collaboration with different companies will help to identify the different strategies, which can be more resilient and efficient supply chain. Supply chain management acts as branding tool and is vital for conveying branded goods to the market in optimal time and cost. The creation of a brand name is linked to management strategies, but persistence and character are possible solely by using supply chain efficiently.

The chapter will explain the concept of sustainability in supply chain management. Sustainability in business operations is fast becoming a vital element to successful global acceptance. It is also one of the major marketing strategies for Points-of-Difference (POD) product positioning. It is necessary to have a basic knowledge of how sustainability is brought about in supply chains in order to truly comprehension the opportunities from it. An understanding of the basic elements to sustainability in supply chain management and global models adopted for implementation of sustainability by corporations is essential. The chapter further focuses on introducing the concept of reverse logistics as sustainability supply chain process and the strategic advantage for industries from adoption of reverse logistics across the supply chain. An insight into United Nations Global Compact program for sustainability across businesses and sustainability governance has been provided.

Supply chain management has an integrated system that can manage the entire process in preparing a product or service for all consumers. For this reason, supply chain management is one of the most important strategies in knowing the needs of customers. One example of the application in supply chain management that is currently done in Malang is a small and medium enterprise (MSME). These small and medium businesses use worm media as fertilizer. The business has two manufacturing processes namely solid fertilizer and liquid fertilizer. In the supply chain management model using 3 different models and can be known the comparison between the first SCM model to the third SCM model. The difference starts from the first SCM model that is 9:11 wherein a supply chain process from the beginning to the end it can still have an error of 2 times the error in structured management. And in the second SCM model that is 10:11 were in a supply chain process from beginning to end still has an error of 1 time in structured management. In the third SCM model 11:11 which states that in a supply chain process from beginning to end there are no errors in structured management. And in this 3rd SCM model, it can be said to be a very efficient model in the supply chain process.

The rising awareness about environmental issues and the need to outrank the competitors necessitates reverse supply chain management. By implementing reverse supply chain process, the industries are able to recapture the products value and can minimize the production cost. The implementation of reverse supply chain management requires huge investment and upgraded technology. Hence most of the manufacturing sectors are outsourcing reverse supply chain management. When it comes to outsourcing, selection of appropriate supplier becomes a problem for industries. In this study, fuzzy Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (fuzzy PROMETHEE) methodology is applied to select the best reverse supply chain management from five alternatives by four decision makers considering ten factors.
