This chapter aims to extend the current body of knowledge about phenomenological research methodologies. By focusing exclusively on the Husserlian-oriented descriptive phenomenological methodology, (1) the authors will first provide a brief introduction to Husserl's phenomenology. (2) They will then give a thorough delineation of Giorgi's descriptive phenomenological psychological methodology, which is underpinned by Husserl's phenomenological philosophy. They will subsequently describe in detail methods of data gathering and the method of data analysis of this phenomenological methodology. (3) Finally, they will borrow raw data from published empirical research to demonstrate the application of this data analysis method.

This article focuses on the triangulation of research methods and techniques in the discussion on the evaluation of marketing research. Research traditions in marketing can be referred to the division of research methodologies, according to which the methods of conceptual, theoretical, empirical and formal research is distinguished, based on the use of quantitative methods, mathematical and statistical models. In scientific research on marketing, conceptual methods (i.e. heuristic or creative methods) are used, with a primary focus on the analysis of qualitative aspects of the studied processes, thus making little reference to empirics. The methodology of empirical research in marketing is used to a great extent. It allows developing empirical models, thus making it possible to recognize, e.g. actually implemented models of marketing strategies that may be consistent with or deviate from the theoretical models. However, it should be noted that empirical models do not always have implementation properties, as they most often refer to the present or past reality. Nevertheless, these models may be subject to benchmarking. Moreover, they serve to make conceptual models more probable. For the further development of marketing, it becomes essential to increase the scope of application of formal research methodologies as well. The analysis of the literature indicates the need for an in-depth diagnosis of combined methods in the research process in the broader context of management sciences. The aim of the article is therefore expressed as a research problem in the form of the following question: Is methodological triangulation a prerequisite for research processes in the management sciences? The research results presented in this article are a fragment of complex study on research methodology. Moreover, the conducted empirical research confirms and theoretically proves that methodological triangulation is a necessary condition in research processes. In contrast, verification of developed methods, models or procedures is an essential condition allowing to combine science and management practice, while methodological triangulation supports research processes. Concerning the preceding, the author recommends in the present article to make a scientific effort aimed at elaborating a tool, method or procedure to select proper research methods and techniques for the research process within the scope of management science, with a particular emphasis on factors determining the process quality. Nowadays, a large ratio of nation's educated population suffers from unemployment problem. Since the available capacity of employment in governmental jobs is limited, hence the entrepreneurship can be a solution for resolving this problem or at least reducing it. The entrepreneurship centers in universities can play an important role in developing and promoting the entrepreneurship. The aim of current research is to investigate the structural obstacles of technologic entrepreneurship in Tehran University's science & technology Park. The research methodology is descriptive & survey and is of applied type. The research statistical society is the technological entrepreneurs of Tehran University's science & technology centers. Data gathering was carried out using researcher's questionnaire with a stability of α=0.92. Data analysis was performed in two descriptive and inferential levels using software SPSS 16. The research results revealed that the entrance of unskilled individuals into technologic topics, the lack of skilled labor force required by technologic entrepreneurship and the lack of sufficient infrastructures for technologic businesses are among the structural obstacles of technologic entrepreneurship. The obtained results are in line with researches of Phan and Der-Foo (2004). Regarding the obtained results, one can promote the technological entrepreneurship through planning and adoption of applied strategies for resolving the recognized obstacles.

Exploring long-term educational change, we investigate our re/construction of research methodology as we moved from a positivist framework to working with ideas drawn from Deleuze and Guattari. We reveal our becoming rhizomatic in data analysis in the metamodelling of the richness flowing horizontally through our practices. We tell of our struggles to escape hierarchical thinking and relations researching between the smooth and striated. A space of interactions, conversations and writings created relations between polyphonic voices, leading us to an emergent methodology. Our struggle against hierarchies in data analysis yielded rich educational possibilities for becoming that Deleuzo-Guattarian thinking offers us.

Volunteering, the volunteer’s intercultural competence and emotional intelligence contribute to intercultural education and sustainability in various societies of today. The aim of this study was to analyse the impact of emotional intelligence and intercultural competence on work productivity of volunteers. The first part of the article substantiates theoretical associations between emotional intelligence, intercultural competence and work productivity. Based on theoretical insights, empirical research methodology was prepared, which consisted of four categories divided into sub-categories that provided the structure of the question groups. The empirical research involved seven informants working in Lithuania, who welcomed volunteers from abroad. The research was conducted using the method of semi-structured interviews. The conclusions present a systematic perspective towards the role of emotional intelligence in the intercultural competence and work productivity of volunteers. In this context, emotional intelligence works as a mediating factor. The contributing role of volunteer-receiving organisations in the development of the volunteers’ emotional intelligence is also highlighted.

Research on sustainability and sustainable tourism has thus far avoided evaluating how tourists actually understand these terms. Instead, scholars have focused on the supply side, presuming a common and precise understanding of sustainability and sustainable tourism among all tourists and stakeholders. This study shows that most consumers link sustainability only to environmental issues, and understand sustainability differently from sustainable tourism. It finds significant interpersonal and intercultural differences regarding consumers’ conceptualisations of sustainability. The results illustrate that empirical research methodology for conceptualising consumers’ sustainability understanding frequently is doubtful or weak. This research exposes tourists’ limited understanding of sustainability, and helps tackle widespread scepticism about the effectiveness of sustainable tourism, by creating better informed sustainable tourism marketing.

Aim To present findings about experiences of relational caring at an arts-based academy for persons living with dementia. Background There is a compelling call and need for connection and relationships in communities living with dementia. This study shares what is possible when a creative arts-based academy for persons living with dementia grounded in relational inquiry and caring focuses on relationships through the medium of the arts. Design A qualitative phenomenological methodology (informed by van Manen) was used to answer the research question, “What is it like to experience relational caring at an arts-based academy for persons living with dementia?” We address two research objectives: (1) to explore how relationships are experienced when a relational caring philosophy underpins practice, including arts-based engagements; and (2) to understand the meaning of relationships that bring quality to day-to-day living. Methods Twenty-five participants were recruited from the Academy and interviewed in one-to-one in-depth interviews or small groups. Participants included five persons living with dementia, eight family members, four staff, five artists, one personal support worker, and two volunteers. Participants were asked to describe their experiences of relational caring or relationships in the Academy space. Findings Three thematic patterns emerged, which address the research objectives. Relational caring is experienced when: freedom and fluid engagement inspire a connected spontaneous liveliness; embracing difference invites discovery and generous inclusivity; and mutual affection brings forth trust and genuine expression. Conclusions Findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge about both relational caring and arts-based practices that call forth a different ethic of care—one that is relational, inclusive, and intentional. Findings also shed light on what is possible when a relational caring philosophy underpins arts-based practices—everyone thrives.

This article is based on the assumption that the researcher cannot detach from his or her own view in phenomenological research. The researcher is assumed to be able to understand the experiences of an individual only through the points of departure created by the researcher's own view. The goal of this article is to describe practical aspects and their theoretical grounds that are of crucial importance in overcoming a researcher's views in data gathering and analysis. Its purpose is to clarify the authenticity and ethical standards concerning the views of the researcher in phenomenological research.

Proteomics has the capability to generate overwhelming quantities of data in relatively short timescales, and it is not uncommon to see experimenters investing substantially more time in data analysis than in data gathering. Although several sophisticated tools for data reduction and analysis are available, they lack the flexibility to cope with increasingly innovative experimental strategies and new database resources that encode both qualitative and quantitative data. I will outline a specification of a flexible proteomics tool that could address many current bottlenecks and deficiencies.

Learning is an interaction process between learners and educators. At the covid '19 pandemic study activity is experiencing a lot of problems, students are struggling to understand the materials the teachers explain through an online system. Addressing the problem, the madrass sabielil muttaqien an open-ended learning approach to a learning activity that is carried out once a week with the system offline by keeping the health protocols recommended by the government. The research is intended to describe the steps of open-ended learning and action action at the madrasah ibtidaiyah sabileil muttaqien lesson year 2020-2021.The study a descriptive qualitative approach and the type of research is case study. Research subjects select using adhesive techniques. As for the data-gathering techniques in this essay using non-participant observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Whereas data analysis the interactive data analysis model presented by miles and Huberman and the validity of the data using source and technical triangulation. The study concludes: 1) Preparation of an open-ended approach learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sabilil Muttaqin is a teacher constructing a learning device that is Silabus and described in the form of an invasive learning plan (RPP) by listing the open-ended question in the application of the learning plan (RPP). 2) The performance of open-ended learning approach works effectively and passionate learners follow the learning process. Learning activities consist of introductory activities, core activities, final or concluding activities and evaluation activities. For the core activity of the delivery of materials with the six stages of activity carried out by the teacher. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran merupakan proses interaksi antara peserta didik dengan pendidik. Dimasa pandemi Covid’19 kegiatan pembelajaran banyak mengalami permasalahan, peserta didik susah memahami materi yang dijelaskan oleh guru dengan system online. Menanggulangi permasalahan tersebut Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sabielil Muttaqien menggunakan Pendekatan Open-Ended Learning pada kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan satu minggu sekali dengan system offline (tatap muka) dengan tetap menjaga protokol kesehatan yang dianjurkan oleh pemerintah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Open-Ended Learning berjalan dengan efektif dan peserta didik semangat mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Untuk kegiatan inti berisi tentang penyampaian materi dengan enam tahap pendekatan Open-Ended Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan jenis penelitian adalah studi kasus. Penentuan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive. Adapun tehnik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi Non-Partisipan, wawancara semi terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model analisis data interaktif yang dikemukakan oleh Miles dan Huberman dan keabsahan datanya menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Penelitian ini memperoleh kesimpulan: 1) Persiapan Pendekatan Open-Ended Learning Pada Pembelajaran Tematik di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sabilil Muttaqin adalah guru menyusun sebuah perangkat pembelajaran yang berupa Silabus dan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Dan membuat pertanyaan Open-Ended dalam isian Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). 2) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Open-Ended Learning berjalan dengan efektif dan peserta didik semangat mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Kegiatan pembelajaran terdiri dari kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, kegiatan akhir atau penutup dan kegiatan evaluasi. Security is multidimensional in nature and diverse in practice. This diversity leads to difficulty in providing a single all-encompassing definition for the many applied domains of security. Security cannot be considered singular in concept definition, as definition is dependent on applied context. Security incorporates diverse and multi-disciplined actors, originating and practicing across many disciplines. This multidimensional nature of security results unclear understanding of a definition for the concept of security. Bridging the gap between the traditional definitions of science and the undefined definition of what is Security can be achieved through Scientific Security Research methodologies that will be engaged and implemented in the exploration, analysis and conclusions of the systematic and organized body of knowledge.
