The process of producing and selling items, from the beginning of delivering raw materials till their end of production and sale for consumers, is referred to as a supply chain. In the present era, supply chain management has also transformed according to the requirement and changing complexities. It is a netting of businesses that work together so that things like logistics, stock management, transport, etc. go as smoothly as they can, including suppliers, manufacturers, carriers, distributors, and retailers. Companies have been trying to develop ways of enhancing flexibility and reaction and competitiveness by changes in their operational strategies, processes, and technology.

Purpose: Retailers are revolutionizing the ways they manage their operations and supply chains to meet customer's ever changing needs. Advancements in Information Technology (IT) and Information System (IS) are supporting the companies to achieve this goal. Core activities of a retailer; stock management, category & space management, forecasting, negotiation and tracking all depends upon efficient supply chain management (SCM). These tasks cannot be executed without the proper implementation of IT/IS solutions at various levels of organizations. The purpose of this paper is to focus on critical SCM performances and to highlight how IT/IS system can help the retailers to overcome the challenges of modern day retail business.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) includes management of materials, products, services, information and financial flows which network of consisting suppliers, manufacturers, logistics service companies, and clients. The individual elements of this chain with coordination and integration of each element to perform themselves ensure successful of SCM. Information technology has a very important role in activities for coordination and integration of supply chain. Acceleration of sharing information, simplification and increasing of reliability provide effective use of time in logistics companies, cost savings like effective management ways. In this prepared study which taking into account the positive impact on supply chain of information technologies, it was investigated on the effectiveness of sharing information of supply chain by examining infrastructure of the information technology, ranging from the production of raw materials to the end user in SCM. The results of the analyses by using the structural equation model indicate that the use of information technology in supply chain management enhances the relationship between buyer-supplier; the enhancement of such relationship improves the quality, safety, and flexibility of products and reduces the cost of products; as a result, it increases firm performance.

The objective of this study is to analyze and review the influence of government regulations and information technology on the operational performance of local television stations in East Java with service supply chain management practices as the mediator variable and capital owner’s intervention as the moderator variable. The data of exploratory research was collected through questionnaires distributed to twenty-nine local televisions stations, selected through saturated sampling method from a population of local television stations in East Java, and was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The finding of this study reveals that government regulations and information technology significantly influence the operational performance of local television stations with service supply chain management (SCM) practices as the mediator variable, which means that better government regulations and better information technology are analogous with the importance for the improvement of local television stations operational performance. Capital owner intervention weakens service SCM practices on operating performance and has a direct and immediate effect on reducing the operational performance of local television stations. The practical implications of this study signify the understanding that service SCM practices is an important concept in enhancing the operational performance. Capital owner’s intervention weakens service SCM practices on operating performance of local television stations.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the practice of coordinating the flow of goods, services, information and finances as they move from raw materials to parts supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer. Different supply chains have been designed for a variety of firms and this chapter discusses some issues in this regard. This chapter attempts to find why we require different supply chain for different companies. In this chapter we discuss the role of stochastic models in supply chain management system, and also discuss other mathematical models for SCM.
