Many universities use Moodle as a complementary medium of lesson delivery to extend learning beyond the classroom. However, the merits of using Moodle will not be realized if students fail to use this learning platform. This article investigated essential factors and gender differences that influence students' decisions to use Moodle. Technology acceptance model (TAM) was integrated with Moodle enjoyment and quality of internet connection factors to form the theoretical framework of this study. Data collected from 327 randomly selected students were analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM). The results showed that quality of internet connection has the greatest effect of β = 0.86 on behavioural intention while Moodle enjoyment has the highest impact of β=0.74 on actual Moodle usage. Furthermore, findıngs revealed that significant differences (t =1.77, p = 0.05) of Moodle enjoyment influence on behavioural intention exist between genders. The findings serve as a guide for planning, designing, and implementing Moodle as e-learning for students in universities.

This study aims to examine the variables that influence Serbian pre-service teachers’ intention to use technology to teach mathematics. Using the technology acceptance model (TAM) as the framework, we developed a research model to include subjective norm, knowledge of mathematics, and facilitating conditions as external variables to the TAM. In addition, we investigated the influence of gender and age on the behavioural intention to use technology. With data gathered from 313 participants using a survey questionnaire, structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis revealed that the proposed model in this study has a good fit and accounted for 5.4% of the variance in the behavioural intention to use technology. Pre-service teachers’ attitudes towards computers were found to be the only factor with direct influence on the intention to use technology. All other factors were found to have an indirect influence. Using multiple indicators, multiple causes (MIMIC) modelling, pre-service teachers’ intention to use technology was not found to be significantly different by age and gender. Various contributions to research and implications for teacher training are discussed.

This chapter attempts to study the intentions to use cloud-based CRM applications through a combination between a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and a Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). To test the different links identified in the research model, a research questionnaire was prepared and sent to marketing managers within Saudi SMEs in Saudi Arabia. A total of 41 useful questionnaires were collected. The authors opted to the structural equation modeling (SEM) using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) to analyze data. The tests are prepared with XLstat software since it integrates both factor analysis and PLS modules. Among the main statistical analyses, the authors conclude that the TPB-TAM is suitable to study cloud CRM. From a managerial perspective, the authors expect that cloud CRM is perceived with good impression and that this new technology should be implemented strongly and gradually in SMEs to improve the quality of services provided to customers and organizations.

Sustainable, improved rescue operations contribute to both the safety of traffic participants and the quality of transportation services. From this perspective, we considered the need to determine to what extent the target audience, consisting of owners and/or users of road vehicles, is prepared to purchase and use an eCall In-Vehicle System (eCall IVS) for passenger vehicles, using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a research framework. To confirm the hypotheses of our research, we resorted to structural equation modelling (SEM), based on the analysis of variance (PLS—partial least squares), and we were able to validate all the causal relationships of the conceptual model, with significant path coefficients at a chosen significance threshold of p < 0.01. Analyzing the obtained results achieved in the field of eCall IVS, one can state that the integration of these approaches with the TAM research framework gives a much more complete picture of a driver’s acceptance of using an aftermarket eCall IVS, which can also serve as a starting point in aftermarket vehicle implementation and future studies.

The usage of Learning Management System (LMS) conducted in Blended Learning style is believed to increase students’ academic performance and their self-directed learning. Nonetheless, the success of students’ behavioural intention to use these e-learning platforms still remains unclear due to factors like self-directed learning, computer self-efficacy, satisfaction and perceived enjoyment and ESL. This preliminary study aims to incorporate factors that impact students’ self-directed learning of English language in achieving behavioural intention to use LMS with an extended model namely, SDLTAM, generalised for the Malaysian educational institutions. The original Technology Acceptance Model 1 by Davis (1989) was used as a theoretical framework of this study. However, the last variable Actual Use was excluded in this study. A sample of 338 respondents from both private and public universities in Malaysia took part in the 48-items survey. The data were analysed through Structural Equation Modelling through SPSS AMOS 24. The SEM AMOS revealed that the factors were found to moderately fit into the proposed model. This could be misspecification within the model and some items within a factor were more correlated to each other than others.

The study aims at investigating university students’ acceptance of a statistics learning platform to support the learning of statistics in a blended learning context. Three kinds of digital resources, which are simulations, online videos, and online quizzes, were provided on the platform. Premised on the technology acceptance model, we adopted a revised model consisting of four external factors (self-efficacy, facilitating conditions, subjective norm, and anxiety) that may influence students’ perceptions and acceptance of the platform. A mixed research method was used. A total of 102 participants were involved in this study. Data collection includes questionnaires survey, individual interviews, and focus group discussions. The findings show that students’ intention to use the platform is affected by their attitude toward the platform, which is significantly influenced by perceived usefulness. Further suggestions regarding the design and implementation of a learning platform are provided based on the observations and results of the study. This preliminary study provides valuable insights into our further refinement of the platform and development of a learning analytics platform in the future for better learning of students in statistics.

This empirical paper examined the moderating role of comprehensiveness between social media and online shopping intention among customers of Jordanian pharmacies. Technology acceptance model (TAM) and the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) were the applied theories in this study. Data were collected from potential customers using a survey questionnaire. A total of 198 usable questionnaires were obtained and the data were analyzed. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used in the outcome examination. The results show a positive impact of social media on online shopping intention. Further, comprehensiveness moderated the relationship strengths between social media and online shopping intention. This paper finds that focusing on social media strategies such as adopting intimacy, decreasing the perceived risk, and increasing trust could motivate online shopping among customers. Pharmacies in Jordan may consider these findings and achieve them by providing more comprehensive information in their advertisement and announcement.
