The final project service is a supervision service from the lecturer for students who prepare the final project. Satisfactory service can be an effective promotion to prospective students. The Quality Control Group (GKM) of STMIK Indonesia Padang carries out one of their responsibilities, namely analyzing student satisfaction with final assignment services as an evaluation of the performance of final assignment supervisors and also to improve final assignment services. Therefore, we need an information system that can help GKM employees obtain accurate results to analyze student satisfaction. The system development method used is to use an object-oriented methodology. The website-based information system that was built (named WALTA (Final Project Service Satisfaction Analysis Website)) used the Likert scale measurement method to measure the level of student satisfaction with the services of the final assignment supervisor with 5 category levels, namely very satisfying, satisfying, quite satisfying, less satisfying and unsatisfactory. The existence of WALTA, GKM STMIK Indonesia Padang employees worked more effectively and efficiently because there was no need to collect students locally to fill out the questionnaire, no need to print out the questionnaire and process the questionnaire data, and the results of the questionnaire were immediately displayed on WALTA. 32 lecturers supervised the final assignment of Odd Semester 2018/2019. It was found 9 lecturers provided final assignment services with a very satisfying category and 23 lecturers with a satisfactory category. Furthermore, the results of this assessment were one of the lecturers' performance evaluation instruments.

This study investigated the perceptions of piano performance programs in higher education from current collegiate students and faculty members’ perspectives in China and the United States. Participants were from representative university-level institutions in the U.S. ( n = 41) and China ( n = 130). They were sent a questionnaire concerning (a) the factors that motivate students to pursue a piano performance degree, (b) the most important educational practices in their programs, (c) the most challenging tasks the students encounter, (d) students’ career goal, and (e) faculty members’ suggestions for prospective students and opinions on improving the piano performance programs. A summary of students and faculty members’ perceptions were outlined and the comparison between the two countries were explored. It is encouraging that not only students gave careful attention toward the applied lessons and performance opportunities in their studies, but also that a large percentage of the students believed they received excellent advice regarding practice strategies and artistry in their applied lessons in both countries. Most of the faculty participants in both countries expressed positive attitudes regarding the piano performance programs in their universities. By providing statistically significant data, this study provides a comprehensive vision for institutions to continue establishing piano programs.

Graduate admissions is one of the events that attracts a lot of attraction from prospective students and universities alike. Be it the university conducting graduate admissions or an aspiring student; both yearn for a prediction system to aid in the process of selecting admits. On one hand, the university can get an insight on the probability of a student's admit thus aiding the graduate admissions office in their workload, and on the other hand the student can get a forecast on the chance of admit and can take preemptive decisions to facilitate the process. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the graduate admissions has seen a slight change in paradigm. This change creates confusion among the related masses. A probing analysis on this change serves as a reference to act upon. In this study, prediction models are built with an extra parameter signifying whether a record in the dataset belongs to the COVID-19 pandemic period. Various models such as Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Gaussian Naive Bayes and Artificial Neural Networks are used to determine the change in probability of admission due to the effect of the pandemic. All the models provide an accuracy score in the range of about 55% to 80%, with the Neural Network outperforming all the other models with a test accuracy score of 79.03%. The effect of the pandemic has caused an ambiguous response to various factors, but it can be stated the chances of admits of students have generally increased likely due to the lower number of applicants

This study used a re-storying methodology to develop narratives of 13 Asian students who came from overseas to study in New Zealand at Victoria University. These narratives considered connections the students made both on and off campus and their reflections on how these connections shaped cultural identity. The research also explored students’ experiences of resilience and agency. Their stories revealed strong connections made with other international students but less well formed relationships with domestic students, where ties are superficial despite programmes designed to facilitate these connections. The exception was the stronger connections students developed with domestic minority learners, such as Pasifika and Maori students. Volunteering, rather than paid work or homestays, were contexts that offered community connections. Student narratives suggest that the experience of studying at VUW refreshed home country identity but also encouraged a flexible identity with a growing awareness of cultural diversity, which for some students, constituted a global citizen perspective. While all students reported struggles, they maintained resilience in the face of challenges, using their networks to sustain them, rather than formal support services. They demonstrated agency in making moves to improve their situation and that of prospective students. Micro-aggressions encountered did cause social suffering but students confronted racism, in their own way, trying to enlarge cultural space at university. Leadership opportunities taken, along with the difficult social encounters they navigated, lead to personal change and growth. Implications of these findings, for policy makers and providers of support services, are discussed.

Despite efforts to increase diversity, a glaring underrepresentation of minorities (URM) persists in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Graduate school can be a stressful step in the STEM pipeline, especially for students previously unaware of the structure and challenges of post-graduate education. To promote successful minority participation in STEM and prepare prospective students for the impending challenges of graduate school, we developed a workshop based on the mentoring and fostering of a champion-oriented mindset entitled, The Trials and Tribulations of Graduate School: How Do You Make an Impact?. We administered the workshop to a cohort of university undergraduates and conducted pre- and post-workshop surveys to measure students perceived need for instruction on specific workshop topics. The results suggest that the workshop was well received by the students and provided information that they considered helpful to help navigate the graduate school process.

The current learning process is carried out online with the help of e-learning. This certainly changes the pattern of learning and this pattern requires students to be more independent in the learning process. This study aims to compare the effect of using e-learning on the learning independence of prospective teachers in the exact field of exact sciences with the social and humanities field at Universitas Samawa. Respondents in this study amounted to 62 students from five study programs under the auspices of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Respondents were divided into two based on the specifications of the fields of science, exact sciences, and social humanities. The data collection technique used observation technique with the tool used in the form of a Likert scale questionnaire. The results showed that in general, student-teacher candidates in the field of social humanities obtained a higher score of learning independence than prospective students in the field of exact sciences, while based on each indicator of learning independence, prospective students in the field of exact sciences teachers were higher than prospective students in the field of social humanities specifically on disciplinary indicators. The results of the influence test show that the significant value is greater than 0.05. So, it can be concluded that the use of e-learning during the covid-19 pandemic does not significantly affect the learning independence of prospective teacher students at Universitas Samawa

Abstract The development of AGEC introduced a new facet to gerontological education: accreditation. The presence of such a new organization requires continuing marketing and education. Throughout its first three years, AGEC has continually worked to provide information and to differentiate between accreditation and credentialing for the broader community. Through informal and formal feedback processes, including focus groups and interviews, AGEC has refined its message and delivery. While schools and departments of Gerontology remain the decision-makers behind seeking accreditation, students have become one of the largest drivers and constituencies AGEC engages as they seek clarification on and the availability of accredited programs of Gerontology. Prospective students, many coming from the health sciences, see the value of accreditation. Furthermore, emerging and international programs see accreditation as an opportunity to engage the field. There is an opportunity to further refine the messages around accreditation and differentiate among the organizations active in gerontological education.

The basics of accounting are very important for someone who will do business. Therefore, we conduct counseling to students, as well as motivate them about choosing a career related to the science they are pursuing for their future in choosing which major and university to go to. Since the 2020 Pandemic, all schools use an online learning system, so we want to provide counseling to high school students about the basics of accounting, as well as provide information about professions that can be taken into consideration after graduating from school. As prospective students, they must know a very promising profession for their future. This introduction can be a factor in their career choice. This is what drives us, in introducing a promising profession for the future. Then a follow-up was carried out by making a statement of cooperation from Mr. Joseph Setiawan as the Principal of the Almasih Christian High School. This activity was carried out through zoom, followed by high school students majoring in science and social studies, which could provide knowledge and insight for them. The results of this activity can increase the intention of school students to continue to college, coupled with support from schools and parents. So that it can improve the quality of human resources to become useful individuals for the nation and state. The results achieved in this activity encourage their interest to enter college in the accounting field.
