Questionnaires and interviews were used to obtain primary data while document analysis and related sources provided secondary information. Decent work and economic growth is the leading and relevant rudimentary goals of sustainable development practices that provides not only perfect employment and wealth creation opportunities but also the fundamental denominator to poverty eradication, food security, quality education, good health and well-being as well as clean water and sanitation. Post-implementation strategies for building sustainable development practices should connect the social, economic and political aspects of people with practical policies.

This chapter reviews the current debates on the role of work and working conditions in the discourse on international development and explores the impact of vulnerable work and poor psychosocial working conditions on health. The launch of the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 is a welcome addition in the fight to secure decent work and ensure health and well-being in developing countries. For decades research from Europe and North America has consistently shown that being exposed to poor psychosocial working conditions, such as not having sufficient control to meet the demands at work or being inadequately rewarded for one's efforts, can have serious negative health consequences. The extent of poor working conditions in these countries today demonstrates just how big a task the UN and associated agencies face in tackling this issue. This in turn raises the question of how Sustainable Development Goal 8, of ensuring decent work for all, will be realised.

Sustainability and digitalization both require major transitions in our world and the way we imagine them. Digitalization is considered to be the engine that alters sustainability. However, it is not yet known whether and to what extent this digital transformation facilitates or hinders the development of a more sustainable world. The aim of this paper is to shed light on the implications of digitalization for sustainable development in Romania and to provide answers to the following questions: how does digitalization affect the most important pillars of sustainability? How can digital technology help to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the next period? These key issues are of immediate practical relevance and therefore need to be addressed by researchers and decision-makers alike. In order to achieve this objective, this research examines the relationship between digitalization and sustainable development, in the specific case of Romania, and examines how digital performance affects the main components of sustainable development, pursued on the basis of the following sustainable development objectives: non-poverty, good health and well-being, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, At the same time, it examines the most important measures for evaluating the level of digitalization of countries (more specifically, the Digital Economy and Society Index DESI methodology) and sustainable development at the macro-economic level (through the Sustainable Development Goals Index SDGI components).

Nutrition of the employee at work has a huge impact both on his health and labor productivity, and therefore on the financial well-being of the enterprise. But today it is wrong to limit ourselves to these factors. In today's world, it is impossible to separate human health or the well-being of an enterprise from the environmental component. Therefore the eco-consciousness and eco-choice of the worker, including in nutrition as well as carrying out the eco-policy at production is very important. The modern man spends a lot of time at work, so a healthy diet plays an important role for his health. Today healthy nutrition means ecologically conscious or in another way - sustainable. Sustainable healthy eating in the workplace should be seen as a comprehensive initiative. In today's global climate imbalance, it is nutrition awareness and sustainability that will not only improve health and business performance, but also have an impact on mitigating environmental problems. Awareness of sustainable diets and common dietary practices in the workplace are investigated. The impact of nutritional-ergonomic strategies on physical employment standards, workplace safety and productivity is analyzed. A contemporary approach to nutrition based on informed employer choices in the context of nutra-ergonomics adjusted for environmental sustainability is discussed, helping to optimize employee health and well-being. Recommendations for workplace nutrition interventions to normalize weight and improve employee health are discussed, taking into account the current requirements of the sustainability goals. Practical intra-ergonomic sustainable strategies and recommendations for employee workplace nutrition are offered. The company's eco-initiatives in sustainable nutrition for its employees help not only to show concern within the framework of production activities, but also increase the education of citizens in the issues of eco-sustainability in everyday life. This increases the eco-education of the individual, which creates conscious consumption and minimalist views in all areas of life, both for the employee and possibly for his or her environment - family and friends. Investing in nutrition in the workplace is a high return on investment for the employer, which can improve the health of workers, create comfortable working conditions, increase efficiency and productivity in the workplace. It is a direct pathway to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 3 (good health and well-being), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production).

The aim of this article is to understand the relationship between two of the Sustainable Development Goals (UN Agenda 2030) – Good health and well-being (SDG 3) and Clean water and sanitation (SDG 6) – and the statistics of the COVID-19 pandemic (number of cases and deaths) in Brazilian cities. To analyze this relationship, we used secondary data from public organizations on the SDG panorama by city and conducted a moderated regression analysis. The sample was composed of 649 cities with a population exceeding 50 thousand inhabitants. The results show that the higher were the indicators used to measure SDGs, the lower was the number of cases and deaths from the disease. We have also proved that cities’ population density and their distance from the pandemic epicenter moderate this relationship, since a higher level of these moderation variables increases the impact of a lower level of SDGs 3 and 6 coverage in society on the number of cases and deaths from COVID-19. Thus, the efficient and effective investment to reach SDGs 3 and 6 is directly associated with cities’ ability to successfully deal with infectious diseases and the resulting number of deaths. As for its contribution, this research innovates by establishing a model for analyzing the impact of compliance with SDGs on cities’ performance in their fight against COVID-19, which may also suit other nations.

Yoga is now increasingly used as a wellness solution replacing high cost antibiotic drugs. Employee well-being leads to Cost Savings in terms of personnel by reduced payment of Insurance and Medical Bills. The paper studies the Impact of Yoga to Financial benefits in MSME Organizations in Odisha in light of three different perspectives of Internal Control, Inventory management and Cash Flow. The primary data was collected from a sample of 155 high profile finance executives working in the MSME sector. Ranking Table and Regression Analysis Methodology was used to derive meaningful conclusions. The research takes initiative to transform the effectiveness of Yoga into improved financial health for the Organization. The observation from the study interprets a positive impact of Yoga on good financial health of Organization.

India is ranked fifth in the world in terms of COVID-19 publications accounting for 6.7% of the total. About 60% of the COVID-19 publications in the year 2020 are from United States, China, UK, Italy, and India. We present a bibliometric analysis of the publication trends and citation structure along with the identification of major research clusters. By performing network analysis of authors, citations, institutions, keywords, and countries, we explore semantic associations by applying visualization techniques. Our study shows lead taken by the United States, China, UK, Italy, India in COVID-19 research may be attributed to the high prevalence of COVID-19 cases in those countries witnessing the first outbreak and also due to having access to COVID-19 data, access to labs for experimental trials, immediate funding, and overall support from the govt. agencies. A large number of publications and citations from India are due to co-authored publications with countries like the United States, UK, China, and Saudi Arabia. Findings show health sciences have the highest number of publications and citations, while physical sciences and social sciences and humanities counts were low. A large proportion of publications fall into the open-access category. With India as the focus, by comparing three major pandemics—SARS, MERS, COVID-19—from a bibliometrics perspective, we observe much broader involvement of authors from multiple countries for COVID-19 studies when compared to SARS and MERS. Finally, by applying bibliometric indicators, we see an increasing number of sustainable development-related studies from the COVID-19 domain, particularly concerning the topic of good health and well-being. This study allows for a deeper understanding of how the scholarly community from a populous country like India pursued research in the midst of a major pandemic which resulted in the closure of scientific institutions for an extended time.

New managerialism and the pervasive neoliberalisation of universities is by now a well-established phenomenon. Commentaries explore the political and economic drivers and effects of neoliberal ideology, and critique the impact on higher education and academic work. The impact on the health and well-being of academic staff has had less attention, and it is to that we turn in this paper. Much academic interest in neoliberalism stems from the UK, Australia and the United States. We draw particularly on studies of public Irish universities, where neoliberalism, now well entrenched, but something of a late-comer to the new public management party, is making its presence felt. This conceptual paper explores the concept of neoliberalism in higher education, arguing that the policies and practices of new public management as exercised in universities are a form of bullying; what we term institutional bullying. The authors are researchers of workplace culture, workplace bullying and incivility. Irish universities are increasingly challenged in delivering the International Labour Organisation (ILO) principles of decent work, i.e., dignity, equity, fair income and safe working conditions. They have become exposed in terms of gender imbalance in senior positions, precariat workforce, excessive workload and diminishing levels of control. Irish universities are suffering in terms of both the health and well-being of staff and organisational vibrancy. The authors conclude by cautioning against potential neoliberal intensification as universities grapple with the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper reviews neoliberalism in higher education and concludes with insight as to how the current pandemic could act as a necessary catalyst to stem the tide and ‘call out’ bullying at the institutional level.

This paper aims to measure disparities among the variables associated with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 defined by the United Nations (UN) in the least developed countries (LDCs) of Asia. In the terms of the UN Conference on Trade and Development, LDCs are countries with profound economic and social inequalities. The indicator was constructed using a set of variables associated with SDG3: Good Health and Wellbeing. Applying Pena’s DP2 distance method to the most recent data available (2018) enables regional ordering of Asia’s LDCs based on the values of these variables. The index integrates socioeconomic variables that permit examination of the impact of each individual indicator to determine territorial disparities in terms of the partial indicators of SDG3. “Maternal education,” “Proportion of women who make their own informed decisions regarding sexual relations, contraceptive use, and reproductive health care,” and “Gender parity index in primary education” are the most important variables in explaining spatial disparities in good health and wellbeing in the LDCs of Asia.
