Organizations are looking for solutions to manage and maximize the performance of their workforce. They recognize that there has been a shift in the business environment from a tangible asset economy to an intangible asset economy. The value of a company is comprised of employee knowledge, brand, and intellectual capital rather than inventories, goods, and machinery. As a result of this, organizations are relying on the technological solutions to monitor and improve employee performance and productivity. Several technological solutions such as Electronics Performance Management Systems (e-PMS) are being used by many organisations to monitor the performance. This paper attempts to assess the impact of e-PMS in the organisational change. A model is proposed based on empirical results.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini ditujukan pada anggaran dalam bentuk intangible asset (sumber daya manusia) dan tangible asset (aset tetap dan persediaan) yang diprediksi dapat mempengaruhi intellectual capital, kinerja keuangan sekarang dan mendatang, serta indikator kinerja utama. Alokasi anggaran sebagai baromater prioritas dalam mengembangkan intellectual capital ditujukan untuk memenuhi performa keuangan bagi indikator kinerja utama organisasi. Populasi yang juga menjadi sampel yaitu unit dan fakultas pada UIN Walisongo Semarang sebanyak 30 unit. Metode pengambilan sampling menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh yang mengambil seluruh populasi. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder berupa laporan tahunan dan laporan pencapaian indikator kinerja utama tahun 2019-2020. Analisis data menggunakan path analysis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah alokasi APBN tahun 2019 UIN Walisongo hanya terfokus pada tangible asset sebesar 82%, sementara 18% dialokasikan untuk intangible asset. Intangible asset tidak berpengaruh secara terhadap semua hubungan, hanya tangible asset saja yang dapat mempengaruhi intellectual capital secara langsung dan kinerja keuangan sekarang secara tidak langsung. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perlu dilakukan audit sumber daya manusia sehingga dapat ditetapkan alokasi kebutuhan anggaran bagi intangible asset-nya. Abstract: This research is aimed at the budget in the form of intangible assets (human resources) and fixed assets and inventories that are predicted to affect intellectual capital, current and future financial performance, as well as key performance indicators. Budget allocation as a priority barometer in developing intellectual capital is aimed at meeting financial performance for the organization's main performance indicators. The population that is also a sample is 30 units and architecture at UIN Walisongo Semarang. The sampling method uses a saturated sample technique that takes the entire population. The data used is secondary data in the form of annual reports and performance indicator reports for 2019-2020. Data analysis using path analysis. The results of this study were that the 2019 State Budget allocation of UIN Walisongo only focused on tangible assets by 82%, while 18% was allocated for intangible assets. Intangible assets do not affect all relationships, only tangible assets can directly affect intellectual capital and current financial performance indirectly. Results Based on this research, it is necessary to conduct an audit of human resources so that they can determine the allocation of budget requirements for intangible assets.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyse the impact of intellectual capital (IC) on the reputation and performance of Italian companies. Design/methodology/approach The paper exploits a unique data set of 452 non-listed companies that obtained a reputational assessment from the Italian Competition Authority (ICA). To test the hypotheses, this study implemented several regression analyses. Findings Results support the argument that human capital efficiency is a key driver of corporate reputation. Findings also reveal that companies, which obtained reputational rating under ICA scrutiny, show a positive relationship between IC elements and various measures of financial performance. Research limitations/implications The study focuses on a single country; it is not free from the imprecisions of Pulic’s VAIC model. Practical implications This paper recommends companies that are interested to achieve a robust reputation should consider the human capital as a strategic intangible asset. Second, the results suggest that companies with an ICA reputational rating are able to leverage their intangibles to potentiate performance and competitiveness. Originality/value This is the first empirical investigation on the contribution of IC in generating value for corporate reputation. Additionally, the study contributes to the literature on the link between IC and performance by examining a sample of firms not yet explored in prior research.

Employees are major assets of every organization. The accomplishment of the industry depends on its employee performance. Therefore, upper management knows the significance of expense in training for the advantage of improving employee performance and also places them to get the challenges of the today’s competitive business environment. This research also aims to see the “Impact of Training on Employee Performance in Pharmaceutical Industry in Karachi Pakistan”, in which Training consider as independent whereas dependent variable ‘Employee Performance‘ having its Performance areas i.e.; demonstrating team work, communication skill, customer service, interpersonal relationship and reduced absenteeism and its Developments areas i.e.; job-satisfaction, employee motivation, new technologies, efficiencies in process and innovation in strategies as its levers. The paper presents a concise summary of the literature on the value of training in improving the performance of the employees. Four pharmaceutical companies are selected. A survey of 356 employees via self administrated questionnaire with the help of random sampling technique is conducted with the response rate of 96%. Two sets of hypothesis are developed which relate directly to the research questions. SPSS 19 is used to perform reliability, descriptive, correlation and regression analysis. The analysis shows a positive significant relationship between them and the results reveal that the more the employee gets training, the more efficient their level of performance would be. The last section of the paper concludes along with recommendation to give guidelines for future research.

The present paper contributes to the understanding of impact of corporate scams and scandals and understanding the reason how these frauds and white-collar crimes impact the investors trust and business environment as a whole. When these scams occur the trust of investors break with each and every turnout. The impact of such corporate scams is not limited to the company where it took place but to each and every business, be it big corporate units or it be some small-scale businesses by directly impacting the stock exchange where the shares are listed. The authors have also tried to focus upon the issues and problems faced by the investors of the company while the company got involved in corporate scams and to figure out the responsible person of the company who will be held accountable in such kind of cases. The present study is limited to the extent of personal liability of a Director and too specifically in the cases of fraud and insolvency. White collar crimes are everywhere these days and that need to be treated as a growing branch of the Criminal law in India. With increase in the Globalization companies are growing and along with it the stakeholders of the company are also growing, any scam done will step back the investors to invest again and more in the company. Thereby with increase in the market share of a company the director of the Company has to establish an internal mechanism to tackle various white -collar crimes nurtured and how these are dealt in the court of law.

Purpose Services to researchers are a key strategic focus point for academic libraries. In many cases these services are linked to performance management systems. However, this kind of system for measuring scholarly research has unintended side effects and may demotivate researchers on a number of levels. This presents somewhat of a catch-22 for research libraries. The purpose of this paper is to describe the Bibliometric Research Indicator (BRI) in Denmark, show why the researchers may feel demotivated, outline the dilemmas and the effects on libraries, and present a possible course of action. Design/methodology/approach At least 14 countries have implemented performance management systems for researchers. The impact has been the topic of several – primarily quantitative – studies, e.g., in Denmark. The analysis is made by means of a qualitative study (interviews with 43 Danish researchers), using motivation crowding as well as self-determination theory to further explore their motives and experiences, to determine whether these factors have any influence on their experience of the BRI. Findings The analysis confirms earlier studies which showed that researchers as a whole do not see the BRI as supportive and that this kind of system may have unintended side effects. Unintended side effects include pressure, limitation of freedom, a drop in the perceived standard of research, the slicing of articles, negative collegial behavior as well as borderline academic theft. In connection researchers do not see the incentives or rewards given by the system as supportive. Research limitations/implications This BRI study is made within only one country and as these systems tend to vary not only from country to country but also with incomparability within faculties and institutes, further studies might expose different patterns. However, as the results fit a more general trend within the research area, the takeaways could potentially prove useful for research libraries in general. Furthermore it could be beneficial to research libraries in general to get a clearer understanding of the role they play, which in part could be done by surveying them on this subject. Practical implications The finding presents potential dilemmas for research libraries, as they might get caught in the crossfire between expectations or demands from the university management and the hope and dreams from individual scholars with the risk of unintentionally alienating a key target group. Thus, a possible course of action is outlined including focus points and target areas for libraries. Originality/value This paper presents original research with some key findings with a focus on the dilemmas for research libraries with regard to BRI-like systems, strategic management and performance measurement.
