Welding process is a non-linear, multi-variable and time-varying process accompanied by many interference factors such as dust, intense arc and electromagnetism, so it is difficult to obtain accurate information reflecting the welding process status, let alone controlling the process precisely. This paper used arc sensor, sound sensor and visual sensor simultaneously to obtain different information of the pulsed-GTAW process, and SVM was used to fuse the information to predict the quality of the welding process, experiment results showed multi-sensor information fusion could predict the process more precisely. This laid the foundation for further controlling the welding quality automatically and intelligently.

The present study is to observe the distortion development in the weldment of Inconel 625 to SS316L multipass weldments. In this work two-level factors such as welding process, filler wire and root gap were employed with L4 orthogonal array. The welding has been carried out with continuous current and pulsed current gas tungsten arc welding process implementing ERNiCrMo-3 and ERNiCr-3 fillers rods respectively. The fractional factorial experimentation was analysis of variances (ANOVA), it was carried out to observe the critical parame-ter which influence distortion caused in the weldments. The quality of welds has been evaluated by X-Ray Radiography test. The results show that welding process and filler wire are contributing more in the distortion.

Multi-sensor information fusion is that fuses information of multiple sensors gained through use of redundant, complementary, or timelier information in a system can provide more reliable and accurate information. Under the research of mobile robot environmental information, a control method of fuzzy neural network based on T-S (Takagi-Sugeno) type is given, it can fuses effectively collected information from multiple ultrasonic sensors and a CCD camera, and realize the real-time control for mobile robot. The results on mobile robot obstacles avoidance verified the effectiveness of the method.

Multi-sensor Information Fusion can get more accurate information required by the system through fusing redundant, complementary, or more real-time information provided by multiple sensors. This paper, with the emphasis on the MIF technology, combining its application in mobile robots, is discussed from two aspects, namely theory and simulation experiments. First of all, this paper expounds the basic principle of MIF technology, systematic structure and gradation of information fusion and information fusion methods; Secondly, based on the theory of neural network integration, it discusses the application of MIF technology in the field of robots , providing an effective method for navigation and obstacle avoidance of mobile robots.

The present study has investigated the channels through which the linkage between economic institutions and growth is gauged, by addressing the main hypothesis of the study that whether quality of governance and democratic institutions set a stage for economic institutions to promote the long-term growth process in Pakistan. To test the hypothesis empirically, our study models the dynamic relationship between growth and economic institutions in a time varying framework in order to capture institutional developments and structural changes occurred in the economy of Pakistan over the years. Study articulates that, along with some customary specifics, the quality of government and democracy are the substantial factors that affect institutional quality and ultimately cause to promote growth in Pakistan. Underwater weld technology is urgently needed for the widely development of marine recourses, and weld automation technology is the inevitable choice because of the underwater environment. Because of the influence of the rigorous environment, the weld seam forming of underwater wet welding is very poor. To control the weld seam forming automatically, the model between the weld parameters and the weld seam shape must be built. This paper used arc sensor to monitor the electrical information of underwater wet welding process, and regression method was used to model the process, and the factors that influence the weld seam forming mostly were analyzed.

A wearable electronic system constructed with multiple sensors with different functions to obtain multidimensional information is essential for making accurate assessments of a person’s condition, which is especially beneficial for applications in the areas of health monitoring, clinical diagnosis, and therapy. In this work, using polyimide films as substrates and Pt as the constituent material of serpentine structures, flexible temperature and angle sensors were designed that can be attached to the surface of an object or the human body for monitoring purposes. In these sensors, changes in temperature and bending angle are converted into variations in resistance through thermal resistance and strain effects with a sensitivity of 0.00204/°C for temperatures in the range of 25 to 100 °C and a sensitivity of 0.00015/° for bending angles in the range of 0° to 150°. With an appropriate layout design, two sensors were integrated to measure temperature and bending angles simultaneously in order to obtain decoupled, compensated, and more accurate information of temperature and angle. Finally, the system was tested by being attached to the surface of a knee joint, demonstrating its application potential in disease diagnosis, such as in arthritis assessment.

Resistance spot welding (RSW) is an important welding process in modern industrial production, and the quality of welding nugget determines the strength of products to a large extent. Limited by the level of RSW quality monitor, however, RSW has rarely been applied to the fields with high welding quality requirements. Associated with the inversion theory, in this paper, an electromagnetic inverse model of RSW was established, and the analysis of influence factors, such as the layout of the probes, the discrete program and the regularization method, was implemented as well. The result shows that the layout of the probe and the regularization method has great influence on the model. When the probe is located at the y direction of x-axis or the x direction of y-axis and Conjugate Gradient method is selected, a much better outcome can be achieved.

The dynamic process of the weld pool is a high complex object with strong nonlinearity, mult-variable coupling and a mount of stochastic and uncertain factors. It is very difficult to obtain an analysis mathematic model of weld pool dynamics. Pulsed Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) is an important metal’s welding technology, which has been widely applied in the aerospace and manufacturing areas. Therefore, the dynamic characteristic of the welding process has always been hot and difficult in the field of academic research and engineering applications. In order to solve the difficulties of modeling and controlling of nonlinear system, this paper investigates the dynamic characters of the pulsed GTAW from the classic control systems. It obtains the SISO transfer function model by the area method and least square method. The results of simulation experiment show that the area method is better between the two methods.
