In order to ensure the safety of the runway expansion project in Qingyang airport, the paper conduct an in-depth analysis of construction safety features from the aspects of construction machinery and equipment, intercrossed construction, the construction team, the surrounding environment, and the construction time limit. First of all, measures are taken in terms of the safety regulatory agencies, the responsibility realization, related management systems, safety publicity, and three-level education. Then further measures are taken from the aspects of safety investment, safety facilities, hazardous source identification, and on-site safety management. These measures work together to make the whole project construction process without any security accidents and realize the intended goal.

The rapid economic growth in China has promoted the development of all walks of life. The most prominent is the construction industry. The safety management of the project construction during the construction process is very important. If there is a safety problem in construction, it will not only affect the progress of the construction, but serious loss of people and property will occur. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the safety management of the construction. Therefore, we should strengthen the management of safety management and improve the prevention of safety technology. Only under the premise of safety can the progress of the construction work be normal and the requirements of the project before the design are reached. Today we are in the engineering construction safety management problem is analyzed, and the problems of construction safety management is put forward rationalization proposals, prevent the occurrence of all kinds of problems in the engineering construction, to ensure security in project construction.

The construction industry has one of the highest occupational accident incidence rates among all economic sectors. Currently, building information modelling (BIM) appears to be a valuable tool for analysing occupational safety issues throughout the construction life cycle of projects, helping to avoid hazards and risks and, consequently, increasing safety. This work investigates BIM methodology and the application of related technologies for building safety planning and demonstrates the potential of this technology for the integrated implementation of safety measures during the design phase and construction site management. The first step consisted of a literature review on applying BIM-related technologies for safety in the design and planning phases. Following this, to show the potentialities of construction simulation, a case study based on BIM 4D to prevent falls from height was developed. With BIM 4D, it is possible to follow the construction process over time, giving the construction safety technicians, designers, supervisors and managers the capability to analyse, in each phase, the potential risks and identify which safety measures should be implemented. BIM can effectively integrate safety measures from the design phase to the construction and use phase and enable integrated safety planning within construction planning, leading to reliable safety management throughout the construction process.

Performance evaluation in construction safety is of great importance to further improve upon safety management processes. This paper develops a data envelopment analysis (DEA) based framework to evaluate the construction safety performance at the macro level. The core of the method is to compare the output-input ratio of construction safety. Using the building practitioner, construction machinery and equipment, and construction area as the inputs, and value added of construction and death toll as the outputs, safety performance score is computed for the China’s provincial construction industries from 2009 to 2017. The results show that the number of benchmark provinces every year is between five and seven. The gap between the best-performing and underperforming province was relatively small in 2012 and big in 2014. Beijing, Qinghai, Hainan, Fujian, Chongqing, and Tianjin can be utilized as role models for the provinces that need to improve their performance in construction safety. The eastern region has the highest score in construction safety performance, followed by the western and central region. This study provides an effective solution to solve performance issue in regional construction safety and improves the tradition performance evaluation system to a certain extent.

Safety accidents occurred frequently in construction process. In order to prevent similar accidents from happening again, It is needed to conduct in-depth analysis of its reasons urgently. Accident prevention is a prior work, the relevance and effectiveness are also important. This paper analyzed the typical construction safety accidents in 2012 from the aspect of engineering, technology and education, combined the principle of accident prevention theory. This paper pointed out that to propose 3E construction safety accident prevention countermeasures from the accident prevention 3E principle can be effective in preventing the construction safety accidents.

The targeted and scientific strategies of safety management are badly in need and its owing to the different characteristic of the complexion in construction environment, technology and constructors. In order to build a construction safety knowledge management that based on construction process through brings the methods of knowledge into the construction site. Finally analysis the main process parts of intellectual resources to realize the safety goals and improve the safety management.
