Active service is a kind of Web service which can be customized by customer’s requirement. The development of component technology provides foundation for the implementation of active services. Based on UCDL, the key technology of Local Component Resource Warehouse (LCRW) is expounded, the model of component library based on active service is constructed, the organization method by facet classification combined with ontology information classification is proposed, and the component retrieval based on Ontology Information is also proposed in view of facet retrieval.

With the development of component technology and component library expansion, component representation and retrieval technology as the component library management two core technologies has become a research hotspot. According to the current widely used methods described and characteristics of components faceted classification, this paper starting from component reuse by different search methods, based on view search method、based on faceted search method、based on terms retrieval method three kinds of term component retrieval methods and the corresponding model of the five matches and two matching algorithms are proposed. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the three kinds of retrieval methods used in large-scale component library component retrieval, to meet the component reuse of various search requirements and the retrieval efficiency is feasible.

An active service architecture called AAS (active service based on acquaintances) for intelligent manufacturing environments was proposed. The proposed architecture exploits stable relation and resourceful nodes, called acquaintances, which perform active services in the manufacturing network. The AAS architecture recognizes node heterogeneity in terms of mobility and capability. We analyze the characteristics of AAS architecture and operations for optimal system performance. By showing that AAS outperforms broadcast-based solutions in manufacturing environments, we validate that AAS is a flexible and adaptable architecture appropriate for dynamic manufacturing environments.

Microwave atmospheric radiometry and radio, mm and sub-mm astronomy are “passive” services, i.e. not involved in any man-made transmission but only concerned with the reception of naturally occurring radio waves. The intensity of the radiation received is not subject to human control, unlike the situation for active services. All active services operate in bands occupied by natural signals of atmospheric and cosmic origin and the active service tranmissions may be powerful enough to noticeably interfere with reception of those signals by scientific services. A conflict exists for the coexistence of active and passive services in many frequency bands, which leads to a need for regulating how to share the electromagnetic spectrum. This document gives an overview of the problems of frequency sharing in the longwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum (radio to submillimetre waves).

To integrate the information of equipment and plant in designing, achieve the whole information of plant production course and share the data is the only way in corporation management information. The method and key technology of integration from local control layer to management layer were introduced. The application of Web Service was presented, and the detail development process for a plant was expatiated.

Web services have been employed in a wide range of applications and have become a key technology in developing business operations on the Web. In order to leverage on the use of Web services, Web service operations such as discovery, composition, and interoperability need to be fully supported. Several approaches have been proposed for each of these operations but these have advantages and disadvantages as well as varying levels of suitability for different applications. This leads to a motivation to explore and to compare current approaches as well as to highlight problems of the operations and their possible solutions. In this chapter, an introduction, a brief survey, problems and possible solutions to the three Web service operations mentioned above are discussed. The research opportunities and possible future directions on Web service are also presented.

In this paper, a new component assembly library for mechanical devices is presented. Component modeling is the key technology, and component library is also an important functional module, which is a tool for instruction design in the mechanical devices. Mechanical properties are mentioned. Interactions between the component design process and the component library are realized. This paper covers the details about the implementation of the component library. The process of traditional mechanical design is simplified with the component library. Consequently, the design and development time for mechanical device instructions can be significantly shortened.

Aiming at the PLM component library system, this paper studied the characteristic and requirement of the development of the PLM component. The main goal of this research include: deploying PLM component library using open source project OpenStack and KVM; studying the component communication method under heterogeneous environments on the basis of distributing framework model Remote Method Invocation (RMI); designing PLM soft component’s facet and interface; putting forward the steps of developing the distributed PLM component based on EJB technology (include Session Bean, Entity Bean, Message Bean); issuing distributed PLM component that is packed into Web service in order to achieve the mapping between PLM soft component and Web service by using J2EE Web service component; developing a PLM component library management system based on SOA framework.
