A transformation technology for part model to blank model based on feature mapping of turbine blade was prompted to improve the design efficiency of investment casting mold. The definition, feature presentation and feature mapping theory were researched. The feature and the geometry structure of turbine blade’s part mold, blank model and cavity mold were analyzed, and the feature mapping technology was prompted. At last, a mold transformation system was developed based on UG. Experiment result shows that with the help of this system, designers can improve design efficiency of investment casting mold of turbine blade.

This paper presents the design and simulation on investment casting mold for metal matrix composite material. The study was investigating the design parameters for the casting mold and simulated the temperature and pressure on the mold. Compressor impeller selected as the product of the study. Among the various types of casting techniques, investment casting process is the most suitable process to produce the compressor impeller. The alternative design of casting mold of investment casting was generated using CAD software. Concept scoring was prepared to select the suitable design for the investment casting process. Material selection of compressor is Aluminum Silicon Carbide. Stainless steel AISI H13 is selected as the material for the mold. The parameter for the mold design is included branch, gating, sprue and runner. The analysis was presented to the mold by using ANSYS simulation tool to determine the temperature and pressure of the mold. In addition, three case studies were presented and compared the static pressure in different velocity and temperature of the mold design. The result showed the runner and the branch size were important to produce the molten metal flow into the mold pattern. As a result, the design of investment casting mold was proposed.

In this study, a novel structure design method based on knowledge template was prompted. The notion and construction methods of knowledge template were introduced. Moreover, the knowledge template based design process was represented. The knowledge templates of investment casting die bases of turbine blade were established and a design system for die base was developed. The system provides designers with a semi-automated approach for the die base design. Finally, several sample applications for investment casting die base of turbine blade were presented for demonstration.

Article use Visual LISP development tools and DCL dialog technology, which implements the standard straight teeth, a two-dimensional cylindrical gear parametric drawing on AutoCAD platform, with easy to operate and improve design efficiency. We achieved that using the dialog box design input parameters, and gear parts of the design calculations, parameters proofreading and all kinds of gear design drawing different structures by programming. The output is fully automated computer-aided design system. The results show that the design of the system significantly improves the efficiency of the part design.

Electrical design in a variety of electrical equipment needs to search, copy and modify constantly, so it is inefficient. Parametric design technology is the most common way to achieve rapid design, but less in the electrical design of the specific application. With the electrical equipment model parameterization and the reuse technology model, develop electrical equipment design software based on CAD secondary development. Use of software, design by three levels of reuse technology on the equipment for quick drawing, editing, statistics, to avoid duplication of work more efficiently, to improve design efficiency and reduce human waste.

DTH (Down-the-hole) Bits are widely used in engineering construction and mining but the design level of DTH Bits needs improving. The kinds of DTH Bits are various in the practical application. Meanwhile, design efficiency is low and management in design information of historical product is insufficient. To solve the problems, key features of the DTH Bits used in different strata are analyzed and SolidWorks secondary development system of DTH Bits is developed with VB.NET. The secondary development system runs in the same process with SolidWorks in the form of a plug-in. ADO technique is used to connect the system and database which stores design information of historical product. It proves that the secondary development system can improve design and management efficiency of DTH Bits.

In this paper, a concept of extended Master Model is presented, mould features are classified and the master model of information hierarchy of mould is built. According to feature mapping theory, mapping categories of mould features are defined, mapping from mould features in various stage to cost feature field is implemented, which lays foundation for building cost information model of mould and implementation of cost oriented mould design.
