The supply chain financing mode became an important factor that drives the development of the small and medium enterprises, through which they can collect more money from banks and improve the competitiveness of the whole supply chain. In conclusion, the way to solve the financing problems of the small and middle enterprises is the key issues that need to be considered by the enterprises which are core parts of the supply chains.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine how cloud computing assimilation reduces supply chain financing (SCF) risks of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This study also investigated the mediating roles of internal and external supply chain integration between cloud computing assimilation and the SCF risks of SMEs, as well as the moderating role of environmental competitiveness. Design/methodology/approach Data was collected from surveys of SMEs located in China. Multiple regression analysis was used to validate the proposed theoretical model and research hypotheses. Findings The findings show that cloud computing assimilation could reduce the SCF risks of SMEs directly. The results also indicate that both internal and external supply chain integration mediate the relationship between cloud computing assimilation and SCF risks. Furthermore, environmental competitiveness inhibits the effects of cloud computing assimilation on SCF risks. Originality/value To our best knowledge, this is the preliminary study to explore the role of cloud computing assimilation in reducing the SCF risks of SMEs. Also, this study attempted to investigate the process by which cloud computing assimilation affects the SCF risks of SMEs.

The purpose of the article is to evaluate the factors affecting supply chain finance and the influence of supply chain finance on supply chain financing performance and SMEs performance in Vietnam. The study was conducted on 856 small and medium enterprises in Vietnam for 3 consecutive months. The data is processed by Smart PLS 3.3.6 software, the results show that credit quality, supply chain integration, information sharing, and information technology all have a statistically significant impact on supply chain finance. Besides, supply chain finance has a statistically significant impact on supply chain financing performance and SMEs performance. Finally, the innovation capability and the market response capability act as full mediators in the relationship between supply chain finance and supply chain financing performance. Based on the research results, we propose solutions and recommendations to help small and medium enterprises better access capital and improve business performance.

Today, the use of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to influence consumers and differentiate product offerings has become an important aspect of overall corporate strategy. The main purpose of this paper is to understand corporate social responsibility in a supply chain setting. This paper identifies dimensions of the supply chain which are important to be considered for making the whole supply chain socially responsible. Drawing upon insights from available literature on CSR and supply chain, this article reports the major findings of an empirical study. The study reported in this paper highlights the viewpoint of small and medium enterprises with regard to CSR in supply chains.

This paper provides a discussion about the need of a continuous contextualisation of knowledge practices in organisations. Also, a proposal of a knowledge representation to contextualize and diagnose supply chain knowledge is presented. The proposed knowledge representation is a codification to incorporate context in a way that some form of diagnosis of supply chain practices can be carried out, which could reveal possible favourable and unfavourable effects of practices in a supply chain. In addition, this paper has been constructed in Excel® as a prototype, with the aim of being used in workplaces to support decisions making in SMEs supply chains. For this investigation, a number of best practices have been analysed. Also, focus groups and individual interviews to operations managers, from global, small and medium enterprises, have been carried out. Subsequently, it has been possible to integrate the proposed coding representation to enable a contextualisation and diagnosis of supply chain knowledge.

Digital technologies have changed the way supply chain operations are structured. In this article, we develop design principles to show determining factors for an Internet-of-Things approach within Supply Chain Management. From the design principles, the article derives a new model for the Industrial Internet of Things supply chains. The focus is on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This research design results in a new process of compounding knowledge from existing supply chain models and adapting the cumulative findings to the concept of supply chains in the Industrial Internet of Things. The paper outlines the design principles for developing cognition in the process of integrating SME’s digital supply chains in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and the Industry 4.0 (I4.0).

In this scenario, Large Enterprises can re-organise their traditional supply chains (generally formed by Small and Medium Enterprises) according to VIrtual Vertical Enterprise concepts and methodology, in order to obtain: (1) better control of subcontractors activities; (2) cost and delivery time reduction; (3) decrease of subcontractors number.

As the market competition became more fiercely and the customers’ needs of diversified products increased, small and medium enterprises (SME) were more and more aware of the importance of getting quick respond of the market. More and more enterprises felt the logistics cost pressure during this business. How to lower down the logistics cost especially the stock cost became crucial for these SME enterprises. Further more, for enterprises whose producing type is many varieties small batches, how to use valid method to decline inventory and waste, is a great hard nut to crack. This article targeted on inventory control of clothing manufacturing enterprises for research, RFID technology was applied in stock management, optimization method was adopted for inventory control based on RFID, optimization control model was built, and the route for declined inventory cost and waste was analyzed. Finally, the application method was verified according emulation.

To date, very few publications have been found that describe how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are adopting knowledge management (KM). The same is true concerning attempts to develop a framework to help them implement it. To redress this, this paper presents the results of four case studies conducted in UK SMEs to examine their KM implementation effort. In addition, a new integrated framework developed by the authors was evaluated to determine its applicability in this business sector. The methodology employed to conduct the studies is described and each of the cases is then presented. The results are analysed and key lessons or findings gathered from the companies are highlighted. Comments received from the companies with respect to the integrated framework were positive and favourable. It is hoped that the information accrued from the case studies, together with the integrated framework, will help to pave the way for SMEs to accomplish KM.

The aim of this study is to determine the influencing factors of Supply Chain Management and digitalization of human resource information practices in the small and medium enterprises of Oman. Digitalization of human resource information is the adoption of electronic means to the human resource activities of Supply Chain Management. In this system, the whole human resource activities are implemented through electronic means with the support of information technology (IT) infrastructure. To measure the Digitalizationof Human Resource Information Practices and the performance level of Supply Chain Management, two adopted constructs from two different studies were used. The study samples were taken from the SMEs of Oman. Almost 180 employees of different provinces responded to the questionnaires translated into vernacular language through google forms and a few hardcopy surveys were distributed to different locations with the support of SMEs and few entrepreneurs. The study found a significant positive relationship between the Performance of SCM and the Digitalization of Human Resource Information of a prominent variable electronic communication and other variables were found with no significant relationship. The finding of the study acts as a significant contributor to the existing literature on SCM as well as human resource management.
