This paper analysis the control principle of the asynchronous motor soft-start with discrete variable frequency technology.A simulation model for the asynchronous motor soft-starter using discrete variable frequency technology is built based on MATLAB SIMULINK/POWER SYSTEM.In start process, positive sequence sub - frequency such as 13、10、7、4 discrete variable frequency is used in the soft-starter to simplified power circuit and its control. While on the power frequency time slice ,a single neuron PID algorithm is used to limit the current. The simulation results verify the asynchronous motor soft-starter with discrete variable frequency technology not only reduces the initial firing current but also has bigger start torque, which has a faster start speed compared with the normal soft starter with current limit starting control technology.

Soft-Starter is a new equipment and it is used to control Squirrel-Cage Induction Motors because of its pefect control effect, compared with the traditional Start method. This paper analysis the superiority of Voltage Ramp and current limit control algorithm.The MATLAB simulation result base on 4.7KW Motor shown that the soft-starter can be used to Reduce the start voltage, limit start Current and Reduce the impact on power. Correctness and validity of algorithms is verified by simulation results.

A large number of harmonic is mainly produced by with the discrete variable frequency soft starter. The harmonic during the motor soft starting is characterized by the high energy consumption and signal interference. Therefore, harmonic analyzing and filtering of motor discrete variable frequency soft starter is presented in this paper to achieve low energy consumption and ensure the motor soft starting stably. The following works have been done in the study: introduce the reason of harmonics appearance, analyze the harmonic, and present the filtering approach. The motor soft starter developed with this filtering approach has been successfully applied to filter out harmonic and to improve the starting performance when the motors draw the heavy-loads. It saves energy, stabilize the voltage of the power supply network.

Aiming at the problems of large starting current and unsmooth starting of asynchronous motor, an electromagnetic voltage-regulated soft start control method based on predictive control is proposed. The model of motor soft starter based on predictive control algorithm is established. The control principle of predictive control algorithm is analyzed. The CARIMA model is used to adjust the parameters of motor starting process. With the help of MATLAB, the motor direct start model, the electromagnetic control soft starter model based on PID control algorithm and predictive control algorithm are simulated. The results show that the starting current waveform of the electromagnetic voltage regulator soft starter based on the predictive control algorithm is relatively flat, and the control algorithm can achieve a smooth start of the motor.

The results of the analysis of transient and technological processes of the irrigation pumping station of the first lift, taking into account the negative starting effects on the synchronous electric drive, are considered. The analysis and review of the ways of regulating the performance of the units of the irrigation pumping station of the first lift are made, and the main difficulties of the existing methods of regulating the pump supply are revealed. Computer simulation of starting modes of high-voltage synchronous electric motors with direct and soft start, where soft starter was used for soft start, was carried out. The simulation took into account the changes in the currents of all phases of the electric motor, the electromagnetic torque, the motor speed, the effective value of the current, as well as the static torque. The introduction of semiconductor soft starters for electric drives of high-power pumping units has been substantiated.

This paper studies the synchronization of brushless excitation frequency soft start system design. On the basis of principle of the synchronized machine brushless excitation frequency soft starter system, the practical applications of brushless motor control system are elaborated. Experimental results in engineering show effectiveness of the design.
