Nowadays, recommendation systems offer a method of facilitating the user’s desire. It is useful for recommending items from a variety of areas such as in the e-commerce, medical, education, tourism, and industry domains. The e-commerce area represents the most active research we found, which assists users in locating the things they want. A recommender system can also provide users with helpful knowledge about things that could be of interest. Sometimes, the user gets bored with recommendations which are similar to their profiles, which leads to the over-specialization problem. Over-specialization is caused by limited content data, under which content-based recommendation algorithms suggest goods directly related to the customer profile rather than new things. In this study, we are particularly interested in recommending surprising, new, and unexpected items that may likely be enjoyed by users and will mitigate this limited content. In order to recommend novel and serendipitous items along with familiar items, we need to introduce additional hacks and note of randomness, which can be achieved using genetic algorithms that brings diversity to recommendations being made. This paper describes a Revolutionary Recommender System using a Genetic Algorithm called RRSGA which improves the fitness functions for recommending optimal results. The proposed approach employs a genetic algorithm to address the over-specialization issue of content-based filtering. The proposed method aims to incorporate genetic algorithms that bring variety to recommendations and efficiently adjust and suggest unpredictable and innovative things to the user. Experiments objectively demonstrate that our technology can recommend additional products that every consumer is likely to appreciate. The results of RRSGA have been compared against recommendation results from the content-based filtering approach. The results indicate the effectiveness of RRSGA and its capacity to make more accurate predictions than alternative approaches.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has aggressed in more than 200 countries and territories since Dec 2019, and 30 million cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 have been reported, including 950,000 deaths. Supportive treatment remains the mainstay of therapy for COVID-19. There are no small-molecule–specific antiviral drugs available to prevent and treat COVID-19 until recently. Herbal medicine can facilitate syndrome differentiation and treatment according to the clinical manifestations of patients and has demonstrated effectiveness in epidemic prevention and control. The National Health Commission (NHC) of China has recommended “three TCM prescriptions and three medicines,” as a group of six effective herbal formulas against COVID-19 in the released official file “Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for COVID-19 Patients: Herbal Medicine for the Priority Treatment of COVID-19.” This study aimed to develop a collaborative filtering approach to signaling drug combinations that are similar to the six herbal formulas as potential therapeutic treatments for treating COVID-19. The results have been evaluated by herbal medicine experts’ domain knowledge.

Detection of bearing faults is a challenging task since the impulsive pattern of bearing faults often fades into the noise. Moreover, tracking the health conditions of  rotating machinery generally requires the characteristic frequencies of the components of interest, which can be a cumbersome constraint for large industrial applications because of the extensive number of machine components. One recent method proposed in literature addresses these difficulties by aiming to increase the sparsity of the envelope spectrum of the vibration signal via blind filtering (Peeters. et al., 2020). As the name indicates, this method requires no prior knowledge about the machine.  Sparsity measures like Hoyer index, l1/l2 norm, and spectral negentropy are optimized in the blind filtering approach using Generalized Rayleigh quotient iteration. Even though the proposed method has demonstrated a promising performance, it has  only been applied to vibration signals of an academic experimental test rig. This paper focuses on the real-world performance of the sparsity-based blind filtering approach on a complex industrial machine. One of the challenges is to ensure the numerical stability and the convergence of the Generalized Rayleigh quotient optimization. Enhancements are thus made by identifying a quasi-optimal filter parameter range within which blind filtering tackles these issues. Finally, filtering is applied to certain frequency ranges in order to prevent the blind filtering optimization from getting skewed by dominant deterministic healthy signal content. The outcome proves that sparsity-based blind filters are effective in tracking bearing faults on real-world rotating machinery without any prior knowledge of characteristic frequencies.

Thermal noise is the most common type of contamination in digital image acquisition operations, and is caused by the temperature condition of the industrial sensor devices used in the process. When it comes to picture improvement, removing noise from the image is one of the most crucial steps. However, in image processing, it is more critical to retain the characteristics of the original picture while eliminating the noise. Thermal noise removal is a challenging problem in image denoising. This article provides a strategy based on a Hybrid Adaptive Median (HAM) filtering approach for removing thermal noise from the image output of an industrial sensor. The demonstration of this proposed approach's ability, is to successfully detect and reduce thermal noise. In addition, this study examines an adaptive hybrid adaptive median filtering approach that has significant computational advantages, making it highly practical. Finally, this research report on experiments shows the high-quality industrial sensor imaging systems that have been successfully implemented in the real world.
