Since recent twenty years, the rapid development of biotechnology has boosted the rapid development of bio-pharmaceutical industry,and bio-pharmaceutical has already stepped into our daily life.Starting from the summary of bio-pharmaceutical industry,the paper makes a SWOT analysis on bio-pharmaceutical industry,making the strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats of bio-pharmaceutical industry clear;and focusing on a deep study on the development routes and all stages strategies of bio-pharmaceutical industry in our country.

Pharmaceutical industry is one of the most important sector in Bangladesh. It is the only industry, which has its own strong manufacturing capabilities to produce the pharmaceuticals product. In this study it is tried to find out what types of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats the pharmaceuticals companies face in Bangladesh. There are about 250 pharmaceuticals firms in Bangladesh. Among them some companies are the large size and more sophisticated. Some companies are small sizes and traditional qualities. A few companies dominate the whole medicine market. So they have to face severe competition in pharmaceuticals market. SOWT (Strength, Opportunity, Weakness, and Threat) analysis of any industry sector investigates the important factors that are possibility of the industry and influencing the companies operating in that sector. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pharmaceutical sector of Bangladesh using the framework of SWOT. This paper brings to light on the SWOT analysis of pharmaceuticals industry in Bangladesh and provided some valuables suggestions to overcome the weaknesses and threats, there are some suggestions to utilize the strengths and opportunities properly. Through this study the researchers try to discuss the affect of various macro-economic factors of strength, opportunity, weakness, and threat aspect on the industry and its related problems and prospects for the future. The development of e-commerce business in Indonesia is very rapid. The rapid development of e-commerce in Indonesia will make Indonesia the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia in 2020. However, there are several obstacles, one of which is the provision of a trusted e-commerce database. Data has an important element in development in developing an e-commerce business in Indonesia. As the National Statistics Organizations, BPS Statistics Indonesia was pushed to collect the e-commerce data. BPS has developed several methods of collection e-commerce data using e-commerce survey and crawling technique in 2018 but still has a weakness. As a comparative study, there are several countries of G-20 that have high development in e-commerce and associate themselves as BRICS countries. With SWOT Analysis and Maturity Assessment, this study wants to analyze strength, weakness, opportunity, and thread, also measure the maturity from each method of collection used. Based on the result, Indonesia has better maturity in technology implemented, but worse regulation and people cooperation.

PurposeThis study aims to explore the challenges and prospects of using e-wallets in Malaysia, and what it means for businesses and customers. Suggested here are strategies to leverage the strengths and opportunities as well as overcome the weaknesses and threats. Suggested here are strategies to leverage the strengths and opportunities as well as overcome the weaknesses and threats.Design/methodology/approachThis study analyses the e-wallet phenomenon using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to assess Malaysian business development. It is supported with findings from the literature and secondary data. The relevant secondary data were collected from Bank Negara Malaysia and the World Bank.FindingsThis study shows that e-wallets in Malaysia have still not achieved their purpose but there is huge potential to do so. The SWOT analysis identified several strengths (e.g. financial incorporation, easy to access, protection and safety, simple for other accounts to connect to, product and consumer service management, quick to implement/administer), weaknesses (e.g. lack of infrastructure and the “tapping” of devices already cornered by the mobile phone market, opportunities (e.g. eliminating fraud, better customer service, promotion/loyalty that can be built into customer experience) and threats (e.g. attacks from viruses, frequent inquiries whether multiple wallets can be used by clients, the concerns of reckless spending behaviour of the e-wallet users).Research limitations/implicationsThis study is crucial for assessing the current situation and the prospects of e-wallets in Malaysia. This study also offers significant insights for policymakers and e-wallet service providers to develop appropriate strategies to enhance e-wallet services in Malaysia.Originality/valueThis paper is the first of its kind to integrate a SWOT analysis and the rapid development of the e-wallet market in Malaysia. Hence, the findings could broaden our knowledge on the fintech industry and enable firms to participate in the e-wallet market.
