The transition to the sixth technological order, characterized by the systemic elements of the information revolution, requires a comprehensive analysis of the aggregate dynamic processes trade operations in the context of the respective commodity groups. Using the traditional methods of the statistical and economic method, in general terms, reduced to the formula: "domestic production + import - export", the relative quantitative indicators of the share of imports and exports of products of the leading high-tech industries of the United States were calculated for specific periods of time in the period 1951–2020, correlated with domestic production for the same period. Thus, an assessment of the impact of the "substitution effect" in the high-tech industry of the United States is given in relation to the volume of exports and imports in the context of certain groups of analyzed industries. The empirical results obtained contributed to the identification of trends in the regulation of American imports of high-tech industry products to protect the domestic market under the influence of the substitution effect in US foreign trade in the period under consideration. The main conclusion is that the priority in the focus of American foreign trade policy in terms of protecting the domestic market of high-tech industrial products, was and remains a flexible, expedient (in terms of substitution and integration vectors) combination of tariff and non-tariff restrictions on imports.

In this study, we proposed the concept of hyper-coopetition based on an investigation of the inter-organizational relationships of chipmakers. Hyper-coopetition is distinguished from traditional coopetition by having companies in heterogeneous industries as participants, whereas traditional coopetition is a relationship between competitors in the same industry. To investigate antecedents and processes of hyper-coopetition, we established the conceptual framework of hyper-coopetition through a literature review. We conducted a case study on leading chipmakers, including Intel, Samsung, and Nvidia, to investigate antecedents and processes of the chipmakers’ hyper-coopetition. By examining hyper-coopetition, we contributed to the relevant academic field by introducing hyper-coopetition, its typology, and a new research agenda. The analysis result also brought managerial implications for companies in a rapidly changing environment.

This study is based on a comprehensive analysis of high-tech production as an economic phenomenon. The article on “Theoretical and practical aspects of high-tech production development” reveals the main approaches to the definition of a high-tech complex, a high-tech sector, a high-tech industry, and high-tech products. The article focuses on the allocation of industries according to the level of manufacturability, and describes the main development trends of the following high-tech sectors of the Russian economy: pharmaceuticals, power engineering, production of medical equipment, civil aviation and information technology sector. The key purpose of the study is to research theoretical and practical aspects of high-tech production development. To achieve the purpose, it is necessary: to consider the main approaches to the definition of high-tech production, to disclose the problem of determining the industries by the level of manufacturability, to describe the development of high-tech sectors in the Russian economy. The scientific novelty of the work lies in a number of unknown and little known facts, as well as in the development of theoretical provisions on the issue of defining high-tech production and selecting industries by the level of technology, and in the analysis of the development of key indicators of some high-tech industries. The research is based on the articles of foreign and Russian authors, various Internet resources, analytical materials prepared by the Higher School of Economics, as well as statistical compilations presented on the website of the Federal State Statistics Service.

The purpose of this article is focusing attention on the relevant problematic issues that exist in the sphere of legal regulation of domestic area of high technologies, as well as finding ways of their effective solution. Noted that the legal regulation of objects and phenomena surrounding the domestic information technology (IT) sphere is quite weak and insufficient compared to other countries. Effectively functioning practices of legal regulation of the sphere of high technologies that exist in developed democracies are analyzed for their compliance with the realities of the domestic legal system. Considerable attention is paid to the characteristics of the current state of functioning of IT law and legislation in democracies. The initial successes that have already been achieved in Ukraine in relation to the IT sphere in the past were analyzed. The perspective directions of further development of IT law, as well as related domestic and international legislation, are considered. It is pointed out that the development of both the domestic high-tech industry and the functioning of IT law and legislation are inextricably linked with the democratization of the country. The methodological basis for writing the article was a set of general scientific and special methods and techniques of scientific knowledge.

Abstract Nanocomposite thin films based on Al-Si alloy with the addition of boron carbide (B4C) particles are widely used in various fields of modern high-tech industry. For their synthesis, the method of laser nanomodification was used, which made it possible to obtain samples with a dendritic structure. The parameters of laser radiation were selected on the basis of preliminary modeling of the temperature field of the system. To describe the ensemble of nanodendrites on the surface, we used modeling of their structure in variable phase field and temperature for the initial stages, as well as the approximation of diffusion-limited aggregation and fractal Brownian motion for subsequent time intervals. The model showed satisfactory adequacy, estimated on the basis of the ratio of fractal dimensions of experimental and model structures. The proposed approach can be useful for predicting the structure of nanomodified aluminum alloys with various additions.
