On the basis of the electronic components business processes and the analysis of the quality data related, a model based on the object entity of the product life cycle is proposed. Object entity as the carrier of the related data this model mergers and reorganizes the related business, meanwhile links the entity through the revolved information of the quality data model thus achieving the integrity of the business in both time and space. This data model as the basis, can effectively realize the integration and sharing of quality data, facilitates the quality data analysis and quality traceability, and improve the capabilities of quality data management for the enterprise.

Tolerance information plays a critical role in many steps of the product life cycle. It is especially important due to the advances in Internet technologies and increasing integration requirements from industry. In this paper, geometric tolerances information in manufacturing process (IMP) is studied, and the layered conformance level of geometric tolerances is established according to ASME Y14.5-1994, STEP and DMIS. An EXPRESS-G data model of geometric tolerance information in IMP is established. The XML language is used to represent and program the geometric tolerances information in IMP.

Product cost estimation (PCE) still draws the attention of researchers and practitioners, even though it has been extensively discussed in the literature for more than 20 years. This is due to its central impact on the company's performance. Nowadays, the adoption of cost estimation methods seems to be limited, despite the multitude of examples and applications available. A possible reason is the multitude of approaches and techniques proposed in the literature, which, instead of representing a guide for enabling possible implementations, actually create confusion and ambiguity on their appropriateness for a particular application. Hence, this paper aims to provide a systematic review of the recent literature in the field of PCE, and intensively investigates the aspects that can enable a more conscious decision on the type of technique to be adopted. This results in the identification of five different perspectives, which can be taken simultaneously into account. By combining the different viewpoints, a new multilayer framework is derived, with a specific focus on the whole product life cycle. The proposed framework can be used as a decision-making tool by both researchers and practitioners. In fact, the former group can benefit from the new structure, as a way to identify new areas of possible research opportunities. The latter group is provided an operative guide for the application in industrial contexts.

This study aims to contribute to the planning process on product management. To do so it presents a integrated framework based on strategic cost management, using the methods target costing, activity-based cost (ABC) based on the product lifecycle. This proposal was structured as it follows: Phase 1: determining Target Cost; Phase 2: determining ABC defrayal to the light of the defrayal based on the product lifecycle. The research was elaborated to the light of specialized literature, from which we extracted the variables to formulate the methodology. After that, to show the feasibility and plausibility of the method we applied a hypothetical case study based on the development process of a product to the light of a course/MBA in Business Management in Institution of Higher Education in Brazil. The results were satisfactory and validated the proposal suggested. The survey findings indicate that the integrated method between ABC, target costing and products lifecycle applied in MBA Business Management is quite satisfactory.   Keywords: Framework, target costing, activity-based cost (ABC), costing based on product life-cycle, product development process (PDP);

Most of the industrial organizations, including SMEs, need to quickly react and adapt to the changing market conditions imposed by globalization, such as new sustainability directives or new type of customers. The fulfillment of these requirements on time is a must so as to remain competitive in the global markets. Since data management information systems are already present in almost all the corpus of industrial enterprises as custom developments or standard PLM solutions, the natural technical evolution that aims to provide an effective answer to these changing market conditions comprises the shifting from a data management perspective towards a process management view. Hence, the challenge is how to manage business processes that build upon existing information systems so as to encourage business agility, efficiency, and interoperability. The proposed approach roots on the Business Process Management (BPM) discipline and leverages process optimization through the systematic modeling and reengineering of business processes accompanied by supporting interoperable and configurable eco-services, which are conceived as sustainability-aware services designed to optimize some aspects of the product life-cycle through eco-constraints management.

Liberalism in international trading opens the opportunity for any country to sell their products to the whole world. One of the activities that cannot be separated from international trading is Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Nigeria is one of many countries which really welcome the concept of FDI. There are Indonesian corporations that have been investing in Nigeria, one of them is PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur. With the Toleram Group from Singapore, the company has built a new corporation together, called De United Foods Industries Ltd (DUFIL). FDI concept and Product Life Cycle (PLC) theory are used in this research, along with the qualitative method and descriptive technique of data analysis. The result shows that PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur (De United Foods Industries Ltd) is a company with horizontal FDI model. The company classified in greenfield FDI category, which developed with merger. According to PLC theory, instant noodle from PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur which has been produced by De United Foods Industries Ltd in Nigeria is currently in the mature step.

This paper reports some aspects of the work being carried out on the NEUTRABAS project under the ESPRIT II European research program. The aim of this project is to specify and implement a neutral product definition database for large marine-related artifacts, covering a large part of the complete product life-cycle. The results of this research program will facilitate the effective exchange of product related data between disparate computer-based information systems, and hence promote a movement towards product life-cycle integration. The scope of the product model being developed as the basis for this integration is described in terms of its spatial and steel structural components, together with the implications for integration with other models of outfitting and engineering systems. The model is shown to encompass the wide range of product-related data which is associated with the various precommissioning stages of the product life-cycle. A suitable database architecture designed to support product data exchange and full life-cycle integration based on this product model is described and discussed.

Supply chain is an alliance of independent business processes, such as supplier, manufacturing, and distribution processes that perform the critical functions in the order fulfillment process. However, the discussions in marketing and logistic literature universally conclude that it would be desirable to determine the life cycle of products in the firm, as they have a great impact on appropriate supply chain design. Designing a supply chain effectively is a complex and challenging task, due to the increasing outsourcing, globalization of businesses, continuous advances in information technology, and product life cycle uncertainty. Indeed, uncertainty is one of the characteristics of the product life cycle. In particular, the strategic design of the supply chain has to take uncertain information into account. This chapter presents a two-phase mathematical programming approach for effective supply chain design with product life cycle uncertainty considerations.

One of the challenges facing organizations today is how to properly manage sustainability. This situation is highly complex as the amount of information relating to projects to be managed increases considerably. Therefore, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems can be the solution for reducing the complexity of this information management, since they connect the different stakeholders of the product life cycle, allowing them to access information from all stages of the project life cycle. However, there are still no tools that manage sustainability in a efficient way. That is why it is proposed an innovative tool, ARTIST, which allows organizations to know the current state of sustainability of the organization, as well as the situation associated with all stakeholders who interact in the project, while enabling the options to study the margins for improvement in the area of sustainability from the perspective of integrating the Triple E. It is a proposal for an agile, robust, flexible and adaptable tool for all organizations developed in the field of industry 4.0 and interconnected management systems following objective 12 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) where work is done so that organizations adopt sustainable practices and incorporate information on sustainability in their life cycle.
