This paper introduces the service-oriented architecture technology, and proposes the architecture model of Out-trajectory Data Processing in distributed environment. According to the demand and features of Ship-borne Out-trajectory Data Processing flow, it describes how to carry out cross-platform service integration by using the Service Bus Middleware, and provides a kind of typical distributed deployment strategy.

Current protocols to agree to Web/Grid service usage do not have the capability to form negotiated agreements, nor do they take into account the legal requirements of the agreement process. This article presents a framework and a domain-independent negotiation protocol for creating legally binding contracts for service usage in a distributed, asynchronous service-oriented architecture. The negotiation protocol, which builds on a simple agreement protocol to form a multiround “symmetric” negotiation protocol, is based on an internationally recognized contract law convention. By basing our protocol on this convention and taking into account the limitations of an asynchronous messaging environment, we can form contracts between autonomous services across national and juridical boundaries, necessary in a loosely coupled, widely geographically distributed environment such as the Grid.

The article describes the mechanism of formation of electronic portfolio and assessment of the student team, discusses the relevance of portfolio's database by employers and proposes the development of a personal account of the employer. It describes the components of the main business process for the collection and use of data and the implementation of the project, indicating the technologies and approaches used in the development of the software product. The inheritance of data processing mechanisms and the server part of the functional on the basis of service oriented architecture from the index-rating system of Ukhta State Technical University is noted, which allows using a significant part of the previously implemented opportunities for data processing and analysis. An example of the implementation of a comparative assessment of student activity based on the data accumulated in the previous version of the system in 7 areas of student activity based on the data of 8000 students for 5 years of the system in one of universities.

The tendency of future communication network is to set up an environment supporting network convergence as well as dynamic service collaboration. The recent Internet of Things (IoT) visions makes provision of User-Centric and active service to common users an important aim. Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) based on Web service technology works well for provision of request/response style passive service. However, services and devices in IoT or mobile environment may dynamically interact and cause a considerable amount of states changes, which calls for an active and more flexible framework to enable interactive service provision. In this paper we propose an Event-driven SOA based service integration framework (EDSIF) for provision of active service. Compared with traditional SOA based service provision method, this approach will facilitate real-time event processing as well as intelligent service coordination. We present the concept model of Event-driven SOA and the key components of EDSIF. We also illustrate the ECA4IoS rules for active service execution and the enhancement work of WSN broker towards an effective EDSIF.

The industry of video games is one of the fastest growing sectors in the worldwide economy. One of the key factors to increase engagement and player retention, was the use of various common game concepts such as leaderboards and achievements. The massive use of this approach and the impressive growth of players led to the concept of gamification as a service, later materialized in Game Backend as a Service (GBaaS). Instead of replicating the implementation of the game features in each version of the game for several platforms, GBaaS adhere to a service oriented architecture providing cross-platform game services that lets you easily integrate popular gaming features such as achievements, leaderboards, remote storage and real-time multiplayer in games. This chapter surveys several GBaaS based on the features they offer and on their openness for the integration with computer programming environments.

Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is a mechanism for achieving interoperability between heterogeneous systems. SOA enables existing legacy systems to expose their functionality as services, without making significant changes to the legacy systems. Migration towards a service-oriented approach (SOA) not only standardizes interaction, but also allows for more flexibility in the existing process. Web services technology is an ideal technology choice for implementing a SOA. Web services can be implemented in any programming language. The functionality of Web services range from simple request-reply to full business process. These services can be newly developed applications or just wrapper program for existing business functions to be network-enabled. The strategy is to form a framework to integrate z/OS assets in distributed environment using SOA approach, to enable optimal business agility and flexibility. Mainframe applications run the business and contain critical business logic that is unique, difficult, and costly to replicate. Enabling existing applications allows reusing critical business assets and leveraging the assets as a service to be invoked in heterogeneous environment.

Enterprise Applications are difficult to implement and maintain because they require a monolith of code to incorporate required business processes. Service-oriented architecture is one solution, but challenges of dependency and software complexity remain. We propose Event-Driven Service-Oriented Architecture, which combines the benefits of component-based software development, event-driven architecture, and SOA.
