The extraction of flavonoids from peony leaves was studied recently. We carried out a research on the optimum technology of extracting flavonoids by single and orthogonal factor experiment. Finally we found the optimum conditions were: the ultrasonic temperature is 60 degrees, the ultrasonic time is 20min, the ultrasonic power is 600w, solid-liquid ratio is 1:25. Under this condition, the yield of flavonoids was 1.47% and the content was 8.34%.

Commercial crude tea saponin as raw material, the effect of ultrasonic technology on tea saponin extraction was investigated. Ethanol was selected as the suitable extraction solvent. The six single factors including ethanol concentration, solid-liquid ratio, ultrasonic time, ultrasonic power, ultrasonic frequency and ultrasonic extraction temperature were studied. The four factors of ethanol concentration, solid-liquid ratio, ultrasonic time, ultrasonic temperature were mainly studied by designing orthogonal experimental. The results show that tea saponin content increases from 48.57% to 90.21% under optimum conditions of ethanol concentration 90% (mL/mL), ultrasonic extraction temperature 40 °C, solid-liquid ratio 1:9, ultrasonic extraction time 40 min. The result indicates that the content of the tea saponin could be effectively improved through the ultrasonic technology.

In this study, effects of ultrasound processing time, ultrasound power and solid liquid ratio of ultrasonic on pumpkin polysaccharide extraction were investigated. The optimum parameters of extracting pumpkin polysaccharides are obtained by orthogonal test. Antioxidant activity were evaluated by using various established invitro systems, including 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazylthe(DPPH•), hydroxyl(•OH) and FRAP system. Results showed that the extraction rate of polysaccharides pumpkin could up to 12.37% which the condition were water as extractant, ultrasonic time is 10min, ultrasonic power is 400w, solid to liquid ratio is 1:20. The polysaccharide raised the total antioxidant capacity in a dose-dependent manner. The results suggested that polysaccharide had direct and potent antioxidant activities.

The paper discusses the role of ultrasonic time, ultrasonic power, solid-liquid ratio and extraction temperature on the extraction yield of coix seed, the results show that: with the increase of extraction time, extraction temperature with increasing rates of coix seed polysaccharides upward trend, coix seed polysaccharides first increased and then decreased with the increase of the amount of solvent, coix seed polysaccharides and first increased and then leveled off with the ultrasonic power increases, coix seed polysaccharides first increased and then decreased. Compared with conventional extraction methods, ultrasonic extraction of polysaccharides coix seed is fast, solvent savings, save time, extraction rate and so on.

Orthogonal test method was applied to optimize the ultrasonic extraction of proanthocyanidin from peanut skin. On the basis of single factor test, the influencing factors of extraction power, temperature, time, solid-liquid ratio, ethanol concentrationultrasonic frequencies were determined by orthogonal test method with five factors and four levels in the ultrasonic frequency of 28 KHz. The results of the orthogonal test showed , the effects of five factors on ultrasonic extraction of proanthocyanidin from peanut skin were listed in the order of importance as: solid-liquid radio > ultrasonic power > time > temperature > ethanol, the optimum extraction conditions were as follows: ultrasonic output power 120W , extraction temperature 35°C, extraction time 5 min, solid-liquid ratio 1:24, ethanol concentration 55%.Under the optimum extraction, the extraction rate of proanthocyanidin was 12.1%.

Using ultrasonic-extraction technology, the condition of extracting the active compounds-flavonoids and rosmarinic acid ofPerillawas studied. The effects of four main factors include ultrasonic power, temperature, time and solid-liquid ratio on the extraction-rate of the flavonoids and the rosmarinic acid ofPerillawere reviewed by single factor experiments, and the flavonoids and the rosmarinic acid was determined by NaNO2-Al (NO3)3-NaOH method and FeSO4method. On the base of single factor experiments, the extraction technique was optimized in the orthogonal test. The result showed that temperature was the most important factor in the influencing factors on the extraction-rate. The subsequence of importance was temperature > time > solid-liquid ratio > ultrasonic. The optimal extraction conditions were: extraction solvent 3%borax, solid-liquid ratio 1:50(w/v), ultrasonic power 300W, time 90min , temperature 75°C. Under the optimum technological conditions, 34.64mg/g of flavonoids and rosmarinic acid fromPerillacould be obtained.
