In this paper, a concrete sulfate corrosion-resistance admixture is developed with anhydrite (CaSO4), super fine slag powder (P800) and anhydrous calcium sulfo-aluminate (C-S-A). It is optimized by means of systematical research on specific surface area, setting time, expansion ratio, compressive strength ratio, corrosion resistance coefficient and expansion coefficient of 20 mixes, which are designed based on the hydration mechanism and performance requirements according to JC/T1011-2006. This new type sulfate corrosion resistance admixture has good performance and completely satisfies the requirements of industry standard JC/T 1011-2006 regarding “Sulfate Corrosion-Resistance Admixture for Concrete”, and has declared Chinese national invention patent (201010256189.2).

A concrete sulfate corrosion-resistance admixture is developed with anhydrous calcium sulfo aluminate (C-S-A), super fine slag powder (P800) and anhydrite (CaSO4) in this paper. Scope of prescription is optimized according to performance requirements of JC/T1011-2006. This sulfate corrosion-resistance admixture has declared Chinese national invention patent (201010256189.2)[1]. Corrosion resistance coefficient is tested after sulfate corrosion-resistance admixture is adjoined into fly ash concrete. The results reveal that sulfate resistance of the concrete is obviously improved by addition of sulfate corrosion-resistance admixture, and the its anti sulfate erosion grade is KS150.

A new type of alkali-free liquid accelerator for shotcrete was prepared. Specifically, the setting time and strength and shrinkage performance of two kinds of Portland cement with the accelerator were fully investigated. Moreover, the accelerating mechanism of alkali-free liquid accelerator and the hydration process of the shotcrete with accelerator were explored. Results show that alkali-free liquid accelerator significantly shortened the setting time of cement paste, where the initial setting time of cement paste with 8 wt% of the accelerator was about 3 min and the final setting time was about 7 min. Compressive strength at 1 day of cement mortar with the accelerator could reach 23.4 MPa, which increased by 36.2% compared to the strength of cement mortar without the accelerator, and the retention rate of 28-day compressive strength reached 110%. In addition, the accelerator still shows a good accelerating effect under low temperature conditions. However, the shrinkage rate of the concrete increased with the amount of the accelerator. 5~8% content of accelerator is recommended for shotcrete in practice. XRD and SEM test results showed that the alkali-free liquid accelerator promoted the formation of ettringite crystals due to the increase of Al3+ and SO42- concentration.

Corrosion resistance and durability are important performance features for grouting materials in underground engineering. The grouts based on ordinary Portland cement are difficult to solve water inrush disasters. To solve these problems, a new type of sulphoaluminate-cement-based Composite Grouting Material (CGM) has been developed. In this research, the chemical corrosion mechanism was analyzed, and the durability and anti-corrosion performance of CGM were studied under different concentrations of sulfate and chloride ions, steel slag contents and water/CGM (W/CGM) ratios. The flexural strength, compressive strength and corrosion resistance coefficient of CGM were measured in dependence of the days. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis was carried out to determine the anti-corrosion characteristic of CGM. The results showed that the corrosion resistance coefficients of CGM are generally larger than 1.0 under different sulfate and chloride ion concentrations. Steel slag prevents sulfate ions from penetrating the hardened stone body, and the anticorrosion performance of CGM was relatively low at high W/CGM ratios.

Corrosion resistance coefficient of mortars incorporating different mineral admixtures were tested according to GB2420, and the expansion ratio of mortar bar immersed in 5% Na2SO4 solution was measured according to ASTM C1012. It is shown that all the mineral admixtures, including ground granulated blast furnace slag (SL) fly ash (FA), natural zeolite (NZ) and metakaolin (MK) were effective in decreasing the 15-week expansion and increasing the corrosion resistance coefficient of the specimens immersed in Na2SO4 solution as well.
