Abstract This paper addresses the supply chain engineering and its application in China’s retailing industry. Based on the approaches of systems engineering, we propose the concept of supply chain engineering, which applies the idea of supply chain management to the engineering practices through the advanced information and management technology, to integrate the supply chain system and optimize its operations. We then illustrate the application of the supply chain engineering in China’s retailing industry. In such practices, we developed the virtual retailing enterprise mode and the FROM-SCM system, and designed the sales assistant etc. Such theory and practices are successfully applied in Meiyijia, which has transformed Meiyijia from a traditional retailer to a modern service enterprise, and the profits are resulted from the service fees rather than the traditional surplus between buying and selling prices. Now Meiyijia has built an ecosystem with the retailer in the core, the headquarter as the service platform. The success of Meiyijia in recent years shows the effectiveness of the supply chain engineering.

In the multi-agent supply chain of manufacturing enterprise, there is the problem that purchasing agent need negotiate with supplier agent about price. Based on analyzing the multi-agent collaborative framework, this paper presents a price-negotiating model, and discusses the negotiating tactics and steps between purchasing agent and supplies agent. And then an example is discussed for validating the negotiating model. This model is useful to optimize the supply chain management of manufacturing enterprise. Manufacturing enterprise and strategic partnerships may share profit and achieve joint gains based on this model.

This chapter introduces a general framework for Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) application in Supply Chain Management (SCM). With the support of emerging and existing technologies related to supply chain implementation, nondestructive evaluation provides an enabling platform to analyze the design, planning, and operational decisions within the upper and downstream ends of the supply chain system. This clarifies supply chain goals, supports making of efficient decisions without constraints, identifies managerial strategies that improve overall supply chain performance, competitive advantage, and profitability. Unfortunately, the desired attention has not been paid to how the numerous nondestructive evaluation technologies can be applied to supply chain management and implementation. This chapter, therefore, considers both technical and business perspectives of this application. It is from these viewpoints that an application framework is proposed. It covers the various nondestructive evaluation methods, operational scenarios for each method, and application issues and challenges within the supply chain.

In the supply chain system, the inventory is the main object of supply chain management, the level of inventory is high or low not only affects the comprehensive cost of a single enterprise, but also restricts the performance of entire supply chain. To realize the difference between inventory management under the supply chain environment and the traditional supply chain management, to establish stock corresponding to uncertain market needs and how to overcome the existing problems is the important issues the enterprise managers must consider when they improve and optimize the supply chain . This article is based on that researching the problem of inventory management under the environment of supply chain, analyzing the challenges it faces, maintaining the good performance of the supply chain under the premise of normal operation of each link. At the sane time,it interprets the connotation of the supply chain and the inventory management under the environment of supply chain, and points out the several kinds of inventory management mode under environment of supply chain enterprises can take.

Cloud computing has been proven to have numerous benefits for organizations, especially in supply chain management. More and more organizations have adopted cloud-based solutions to be their primary sourcing applications. Nevertheless, this technology is not without challenges, and in order to deploy and implement cloud-based solutions successfully with minimal risks organizations need to have practical guidance on this emerging technology. Despite the rapid growth of cloud computing in supply chain areas, the existing literature is still conceptual, inadequate, and mainly focused on the pre-adoption stage of this technology. This research examines the post-adoption stage of cloud-based supply chain solutions from the decision science perspective and intends to provide organizations with practical guidance on how to ensure the efficiency of a cloud-based supply chain system and control risks associated with cloud-based solutions.

Objectives: This paper studies the logistics management of tobacco enterprises under the supply chain system. Using the knowledge and theory of supply chain management and logistics, this paper studies the method of constructing supply chain and promotes the reform of tobacco industry and the development of logistics construction. Methods: This paper makes a systematic and comprehensive research by using JIT method. Based on reality and overall situation, make a comprehensive and systematic strategic plan for the development of tobacco industry. This paper analyzes the current situation of tobacco supply chain management, and puts forward the countermeasures to solve the current situation of tobacco supply chain. Results: Tobacco logistics and supply chain management in China has just started, is still in the exploratory stage, and there are still many imperfections and areas that need to be improved. Although many tobacco enterprises have initially built cigarette logistics centers with Municipal Bureau companies as the main body, the information construction has also reached a certain level. Overall, the integration of resources between industrial and commercial enterprises is far from enough. At present, only some provinces and cities have realized the logistics resource sharing of industrial and commercial enterprises in the same city, and the informatization has also reached a high level. The phenomenon of repeated logistics construction in the whole tobacco industry is still serious. Conclusion: In order to realize the integration of logistics resources in the whole industry and reduce the overall cost, tobacco companies should first strengthen the joint reorganization of the industry and establish large tobacco industry groups. Secondly, efforts should be made to realize the organizational structure adjustment and business process re-engineering of industrial enterprises. Thirdly, on the basis of the existing logistics level, establish a third-party logistics company across administrative regions to realize the informatization of the whole cycle of cigarette distribution..
