Abstract Kosovo is an underdevelopment country that faces challenges such as poverty, large numbers of unemployment people, and slow economic development. Faced with this fact, country is estimated to be rich in considerable natural resources as well as a relatively young population. Therefore, knowledge and assessment of resources is an important prerequisite for their valorization in function of faster economic development. In underdeveloped countries such as Kosovo, there are not enough professional institutions that provide reliable data on available national resources and their comparative advantages. In these circumstances entrepreneurship and economic development are closely related to entrepreneurial courage and the overall perception for resources and market trends. Entrepreneurship is a basic prerequisite for activating resources. This is particularly the case in underdeveloped localities with high degree of unemployment. For this purpose, individual knowledge is very important to undertake activities that would be successfully concluded. In this research an effort will be made to explain the importance of knowing and evaluating local resources for entrepreneurship and local economic development. In particular, the role of civil and business perceptions will be explained and interpreted with proper statistical methods in order to bring professional and scientific conclusions.

This paper is based on the premise that, urbanisation could be effective only if decentralisation policy is at the centre of development initiatives. In this way the paper argues, local authorities could utilize local resources to ignite local economic development (LED) through for instance trade activities and investments.LED initiatives aim at empowering local stakeholders to utilise business enterprises, labour, capital and other local resources effectively to maximise local benefits in order to contribute to poverty reduction and the uplifting of citizens life conditions. The paper is divided into four major parts. The first part gives a background of the notion of decentralisation, urbanisation and local economic development. The second part provides an overview of the review of the related literature while the third part gives an account on how the above are inter-related. The fourth part provides the challenges faced by urbanisation in achieving local economic development and part five is presented as conclusion and recommendations.

Current tourism-led tertiary industry achieved remarkable development and achievements. In order to make better use of the natural geological resources, local governments adopt local characteristics as a guide to invest in tourist attraction construction to promote local economic development. However, due to the lack of scientific and technical conditions, tourist attraction construction is only confined to the planning and design of major landscape regions, rather than taking into account the query needs of tourists during the tour. Under this background, this thesis first of all makes an introduction to geographic navigation system function, and then proposes the function design of tourist attraction geographic navigation system and application of GPS technology to tourist attraction navigation, so as to assist the further study.

This research extends bribery research toward entrepreneurial theory and practice by examining how bribery impacts new venture disbanding in China. Existing research suggests that bribery may enhance firms’ competitive advantage; however, building off of resource-based view and taking into consideration the institutional context in China, the current study proposes that firm bribery activity hurts new ventures by increasing the hazard of venture disbanding. Further, guided by resource dependence theory, this study examines how local economic development and organizing activity moderate the relation between bribery and disbanding. In particular, it is proposed that when local economic development is suffering, or when firms are not engaging in appropriate organizing activities, bribery will lead to higher chance of new venture disbanding. Data from Chinese entrepreneurs support these hypotheses.
