Using Exchange Attenuation to Control Non-Disentanglement Quantum Information Transport in Phase Damping Channel

It is effective to constitute a hybrid qubit system by taking advantages of different types of qubits to overcome the effects of decoherence and achieve quantum information transport. We find that energy relaxation exists in the process of information exchange bewteen the hybrid qubits. Combining this kind of energy relaxation with the decoherence effects from external environment, quantum information transport of non-disentangled effect can be achieved in phase damping channel if the exchange decay rate and decoherence time satisfy certain constraint relations.

This chapter provides an overview of the antecedents and consequences of gossip in work groups. First, the chapter reviews the different motives for gossip in work groups (i.e., bonding, entertainment, emotional venting, information exchange, maintenance of group norms/social order, and interpersonal aggression) and links each motive to psychological theory. Second, the chapter reviews the different types of influence that gossip can have on various indicators of group effectiveness. Reflecting on the motives underlying gossip in work groups, as well as on its outcomes, it argues that future research should start integrating the diverse insights provided by earlier research on both gossip motives and outcomes, and it provides a number of suggestions for doing so.

The article is devoted to the research of the institutional foundations of interaction between agricultural advisory services and amalgamated hromadas (AH). The goal of the article is to generalize the institutional framework for cooperation between agricultural advisory services and AH. The institutional components of the state regulation of agricultural advisory services are determined. Also the main subjects among Central executive authorities for solving these issues are defined. The results of questionnaire survey to determine of aspects of attitude of the community leadership to the solution of their problem and reciprocity with advisory services are presented. Three groups of AH actual problems have been determined. In the context of realization of institution provisions is substantiated the order of advisory services for solving of these problems. The results of the research of self-government bodies readiness to participate in the financing of the agricultural advisory activity are represented. The order of solving of the priority tasks for formation of the agricultural advisory system in rural hromadas is grounded. The priority tasks are include: 1) establishment of system communications between advisory services and AH; 2) preparation of mechanisms (models) for involving of local communities in agricultural advisory activity. Rural communities can count on different types of state support on the base of cooperation with agricultural advisory. It seems expedient for the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine to initiate the elaboration of mechanisms for state stimulation of community cooperation in the advisory sphere. The priority measures for convergence of the system of agricultural advisory and AH have been identified. It connect with coordination of activity for information exchange between executive authorities, self-government communities and subjects of agricultural advisory. This is an objective necessity and will permit to obtain a synergistic effect: increasing the ability of rural amalgamated hromadas to solve their own problems independently, improving the living standards of the rural population. An extremely relevant topic is launching of pilot projects for the development of advisory services in AH, including the use of mechanisms of inter-municipal cooperation. International technical assistance projects should be more actively involved in this work. Prospects for further research are conclude in elaboration of the specific mechanisms of cooperation between the subjects of advisory services with the AH leadership in solving of existing problems.

The theory of Quantum Control is starting to lay bridges with the field of Quantum Information and Quantum Computation. Using key ideas of laser control of the dynamics by means of phase manipulation and adiabatic passage, we review laser schemes that allow entanglement preparation in a two-qubit system. The schemes are based on sequences that use four time-delayed pulses, with or without concerted decay, in or off resonance with the intermediate levels of the qubit space. We show how to control the fidelity and phase of the entanglement, as well as the sensitivity of the preparation to the different pulse parameters. In general the schemes provide an improvement in robustness and in the finesse of the control to phase, with respect to previously proposed schemes based on sequences of $\pi$ pulses.

In a realistic situation, the secret sharing of classical or quantum information will involve the transmission of this information through noisy channels. We consider a three qubit pure state. This state becomes a mixed-state when the qubits are distributed over noisy channels. We focus on a specific noisy channel, the phase-damping channel. We propose a protocol for secret sharing of classical information with this and related noisy channels. This protocol can also be thought of as cooperative superdense coding. We also discuss other noisy channels to examine the possibility of secret sharing of classical information.

While foundations contribute in significant ways to the United States’ social, economic, and political life, they are experiencing increasing demands placed upon them by their own sector and need to respond to the major changes in their external environment. In order to create breakthrough solutions to long-standing problems, foundations have to become more innovative and seek to experiment and find new approaches. Unfortunately, innovation discourse within foundations has received little attention. This paper fills the gap in the literature as it describes the results of a study that explored different types of innovations implemented in foundations. More specifically, staff members of 17 US foundations that are known for supporting innovation in nonprofit organizations, were asked to describe programmatic and administrative innovations implemented in their own foundations. The results showed that foundations that support innovation are in fact innovative themselves. They implemented numerous innovations in programmatic and administrative, financial, and structural areas. This paper provides a rich description of a broad range of innovations implemented within each of those areas. The contribution of this study and insights are significant at this particular time when foundations’ roles and impact on social change are questioned. The results can enrich our discussion of where foundations can go from here in terms of becoming innovative themselves in order to be able to support and enhance innovation in the nonprofit sector.

In the new era of computers, everyone relies on the internet for basic day-to-day activities to sophisticated and secret tasks. The cyber threats are increasing, not only theft and manipulation of someone's information, but also forcing the victim to deny other requests. A DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack, which is one of the serious issues in today's cyber world needs to be detected and their advance towards the server should be blocked. In the article, the authors are focusing mainly on preventive measures of different types of DDoS attacks using multiple IPtables rules and Windows firewall advance security settings configuration, which would be feasibly free on any PC. The IPtables when appropriately selected and implemented can establish a relatively secure barrier for the system and the external environment.

Many-qubit entanglement is crucial for quantum information processing although its exploitation is hindered by the detrimental effects of the environment surrounding the many-qubit system. It is thus of importance to study the dynamics of general multipartite non-classical correlation, including but not restricted to entanglement, under noise. We did this study for four-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinga (GHZ) state under most common noises in an experiment and found that non-classical correlation is more robust than entanglement except when it is imposed to dephasing channel. Quantum discord presents a sudden transition in its dynamics for Pauli-X and Pauli-Y noises as well as Bell-diagonal states interacting with dephasing reservoirs and it decays monotonically for Pauli-Z and isotropic noises.
