This paper introduces the process of developing web application of farm management information system (FMIS) for smallholder farmers in Malaysia by using rapid application development (RAD) prototyping methodology in information system research design. FMIS is important ICT solution to assist smallholder farmer to be more competitive in agriculture. The web application requirement determined through extraction process using physical data-driven design system from Malaysia Good Agriculture Practise (MyGAP) physical forms. Additionally, the functions and features of the system were determined through several questionnaires which were distributed to 209 smallholder farmers located in Taman Kekal Pengeluaran Makanan (TKPM) in Selangor. Selangor agricultural area together with smallholders farmers were chosen as respondents because Selangor is the highest internet penetration state in Malaysia. Subsequently, the design and analysis of FMIS are constructed by us including the database design, data flow design, system flow design and software development which was validated by two other experienced system analysts. The software development process were using PHP web development tool called Scriptcase version 8 which were taking less than 2 months to be completed. Furthermore, we also made a comparative study of an existing system available in the market to give additional competitive value to the new development of FMIS in Malaysia. The final developed FMIS is accessible through the official MyAgris website.

Ilmu Tajwid adalah suatu cabang pengetahuan untuk mempelajari cara-cara pembacaan Al-Qur’an. Al-Qur’an merupakan kitab suci umat beragama Islam.

Recent application development in the wireless sensor networks (WSNs) area makes arise problems regarding data aggregation and effective methods to collect data. For addressing these problems, effective procedures are required. A multi-sink sensor network application has been characterized by many-to-many communication, where multiple sources report their data to multiple sinks. This article presents recent techniques for distributed multi-sink environments. The reviewed proposals are classified according to the purpose of the application, such as routing, monitoring of a specific target, data aggregation applications, and others. Finally, we present a discussion on the analysed works.

A major design challenge in wireless sensor network application development is to provide appropriate middleware service protocols to control the energy consumption according to specific application scenarios. In common application scenarios such as in monitoring or surveillance systems, it is usually necessary to extend the system monitoring area as large as possible to cover the maximal area. The two issues of power conservation and maximizing the coverage area have to be considered together with both the sensors’ communication connectivity and their power management strategy. In this chapter, the authors proposed novel enhanced sensor scheduling protocols to address the application scenario of typical surveillance systems. Their protocols take into consideration of both power conservation and coverage ratio to search for the balance between the different requirements. They proposed both centralized and de-centralized sensor scheduling versions, and compared the performance of different algorithms using several metrics. The results provide evidence of the advantages of our proposed protocols comparing with existing sensor scheduling protocols.

High-performance reconfigurable computers (HPRCs) provide a mix of standard processors and FPGAs to collectively accelerate applications. This introduces new design challenges, such as the need for portable programming models across HPRCs and system-level verification tools. To address the need for cosimulating a complete heterogeneous application using both software and hardware in an HPRC, we have created a tool called the Message-passing Simulation Framework (MSF). We have used it to simulate and develop an interface enabling an MPI-based approach to exchange data between X86 processors and hardware engines inside FPGAs. The MSF can also be used as an application development tool that enables multiple FPGAs in simulation to exchange messages amongst themselves and with X86 processors. As an example, we simulate a LINPACK benchmark hardware core using an Intel-FSB-Xilinx-FPGA platform to quickly prototype the hardware, to test the communications. and to verify the benchmark results.
