On the basis of the experimental data, a method and mechanism for modifying magnesia binders with iron ore concentrate has been proposed. It consists in form of a material reinforced fine-crystalline structure with elongated magnesium oxychloride crystals, which improves its physical and mechanical characteristics. The components of iron ore concentrate and magnesia binder, having improved sorption properties, significantly accelerates the formation of such a structure.

The results of the mechanical characteristics determining the briquettes during the roll briquetting of the raw mixtures are presented. The fine fractions briquetting process of iron ore concentrate and ferrosilicon manganese with the liquid glass as a binder was investigated. The mechanical strength briquettes data for low and high stresses of the mixtures briquetting are obtained. According to the results of the briquettes test for dropping and crushing, the minimum amount values of binder in the mixtures are obtained. They provide a sufficient level of the briquette mechanical properties. The automated technological line for roll briquetting of raw mixtures with a binder is presented.

There was suggested a method of obtaining a complex adsorbent with magnetic properties for the oil spill clean-up from the water surface by means of controlled magnetic field. As magnetic filler a finely-dispersed iron-ore concentrate in the form of magnetite, obtained by wet magnetic separation of crushed iron ore, was suggested. As an adsorbing component the disintegrating electric-furnace steelmaking slag, obtained by dry air-cooling method, was selected. The mass ratio of components slag:magnetite is 1(1,5÷2,0). For cleaning up emergency oil spills with the suggested magnetic adsorbent a facility, which is installed on a twin-hulled oil recovery vessel, was designed. The vessel contains a rectangular case between the vessel hulls with inlet and outlet for the treated water, the bottom of which is a permanently moving belt. Above the belt, at the end point of it there is an oil-gathering drum with magnetic system. The adsorbent is poured to oil-products layer from a hopper, provided with drum feeder. Due to the increased bulk weight the adsorbent sinks rapidly into the oil layer on the water surface. If the large non-floating flocculi are formed, they sink and sedimentate on the moving belt and are moved to the oil-gathering drum. The saturated adsorbent is removed from the drum surface with a scraper, connected with a gutter, with contains a rotating auger.

The problem of increasing the bearing capacity of the base is an relevant problem in modern geotechnical construction. When significant loads are transmitted to the base, the use of traditional technologies is not always justified. Often there is an urgent need to use non-standard ways to strengthen the bases. In many cases, the geotechnical situation is aggravated by the presence of weak underlying layers with unstable physical and mechanical characteristics in engineering-geological sections. When strengthening such bases with the help of traditional piles, the latter can get negative friction, which significantly reduces their bearing capacity on the ground, sometimes reaching zero values. This may lead to additional precipitations of the objects being constructed and constructed in the zone of geotechnical influence. The use of ERT piles in most cases successfully solves many complex geotechnical problems.

The paper considers possibilities of using a hybrid fabric made of high-modulus carbon yarn brand ZhGV and high-strength aramid yarns brand Rusar-NT for polymer composites reinforcement. The results of studies of the physical and mechanical characteristics of hybrid composite material and values of the implementation of the strength and elasticity carbon fibers and aramid module for composite material are presented.

The review of the main physical and mechanical characteristics of steel and nonmetallic composite reinforcements is presented in the article. Also there are complex studying, analysis and synthesis of available information. Much attention is paid to recommendations for designing building constructions of different functions with nonmetallic composite reinforcements. Scopes of nonmetallic composite reinforcements in the construction industry in Russia and abroad are considered.Information about main producer and the official distributor of composite reinforcements is provided in the article. This company is the official distributor in the Northwest of the Russian Federation. Their production is successfully used on many objects under construction in Russia. Materials of the article are based on the real photographic materials provided by personal archive of the company.
