In the work, on the basis of the data of the analysis of theoretical works and the laboratory studies carried out, the prediction of the values of corrosion rates in the circulating systems of coke plants was carried out using the Langelier and Ryznar stability indixes. The laws governing changes in the thermal stability of water as a function of temperature and water quality indicators (pH, alkalinity, total salinity, calcium ion content) have been established. Analysis of the obtained data showed that there is a clear dependence of the scale-corrosion properties of water on temperature and its chemical composition. A stable and effective supplying water composition for the circulating water supply system of the Kharkiv Coke Plant has been established.

Abstract The formation of the deep oil and gas bearing horizons hydrogeological conditions in the Middle Ob region and the West Siberian megabasin as a whole contains many questions and is a subject of discussion. This is due to numerous hydrogeodynamic and hydrogeochemical anomalies that do not have an unambiguous explanation. The hydrogeological conditions feature of the area under consideration is inversion hydrogeochemical zonation in the Lower Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic sediments, as well as the presence of low-mineralized formation waters of hydrocarbonate-sodium composition. The change in the genetic type of waters, the mineralization decrease, the calcium ion content decrease and an increase in the hydrocarbonate ion amount in the Mesozoic hydrogeological basin, is associated with the transformation of mineral and organic matter in sedimentary rocks during their immersion, occurring at the elision stage of the basin development.

To understand the phase composition and improve the magnetic performances of Ce2Fe14B-type alloys, the ribbons of Ce16Fe95-xCoxB8(x=0-4.0) were prepared by melt-spinning at a quench wheel velocity of 40 m/s. The phase composition and magnetic properties of Ce16Fe95-xCoxB8(x=0-4.0) alloys were investigated. XRD results indicated that the main phase existed in the as-spun ribbons is Ce2Fe14B. The amorphous formation ability and thermal stability of as-spun ribbons were enhanced by trace cobalt addition. Co-doped samples had higher Curie temperature compared with bare Ce2Fe14B, which signified that Co atoms could substitute for Fe directly into Ce2Fe14B phase. The corrosion potential of alloys from-1089mV (vs. SCE) to-1077mV (vs. SCE) which indicated that the Co-doped provided better corrosion protection properties for the Ce-Fe-B magnet compared with bare substrate.

Microbial-induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) technology is a new green reinforcing technology in soil stabilization. Targeting on the problem that seepage is the main factor of causing the instability of a tailings dam, a comparative experiment is conducted, which includes the MICP technology on reinforcing tailings with or without the effect of a seepage field. The results of the comparative experiment are as follow: the mercury penetration test indicates that, under the function of a seepage field, the total pore in the tailing is relatively decreased; SEM shows that under the function of a seepage field, the intergranular pore increases; the direct shear test shows that under the function of a seepage field, the tailings’ shear strength decreases; the determination of calcium ion content shows that the distribution of calcium carbonate in the tailings under the action of a seepage field is more uneven.

Hydrogel matrices have been obtained from pectins of Silene vulgaris (SVC), Tanacetum vulgare (TVC) and Lemna minor (LMC) callus cultures, and from apple pectin (AU701). They differed in gel strength, calcium ion content and surface morphology. During the incubation under simulated gastric conditions (pH 1.25), the gel strength and calcium content decreased. The degradation degree of hydrogels grew in the range TVC < SVC < LMC < AU701. The degradation degree of hydrogels from the SVC, LMC, and TVC pectins gradually increased over 4 hours, while hydrogels from the AU701 pectin were destroyed within 2 hours. The gels prepared from pectins with low methyl esterification, low branching and high linearity underwent less degradation. The TVC pectin gels had the highest strength and were most stable at pH 1.25. The data obtained can be used to produce hydrogel matrices with desired physicochemical and functional properties. callus culture, pectin polysaccharides, hydrogels, gastric medium
