To increase the manufacture efficiency of electroplated diamond tools, a nickel plating solution containing ammonium sulphate and sodium formate was investigated. The effects of concentration of ammonium sulphate, sodium formate and pH value on throwing power, covering power, ability to resist Cu2+ contamination and deposit microhardness were studied. Surface topography of deposits was also observed by SEM. Compared to watts bath, the plating solution studied is advantageous in terms of the performance of plating solution, deposit hardness and diamond bit behavior. Ammonium sulphate can refine deposit crystal grains and result in crystal form change.

Abstract FAGERSTA D-950 is a high-speed steel that combines economic considerations in a properly balanced chemical analysis. An optimum carbon-vanadium ratio provides a high attainable hardness along with good mechanical properties. Its wide hardening range and excellent response to secondary hardening is rather unique and can offer some advantages in heat treatment. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-307. Producer or source: Fagersta Steels Inc..

Article deals with construction of hammer for cane shredder. Function of hammer in shredder consists in crushing sugarcane stalks for further processing in sugar production. Hammer loading and other calculations were made. Four weld deposit materials were suggested for protection of hammer against wear and dynamic loading. All samples with weld deposit were subjected to microstructure evaluation, chemical analysis, high speed impact testing and tribological PIN-on-DISC test for estimation of wear resistance. One weld deposit material was recommended as a result of these tests.
