Viscosity-temperature effect is an important factor for journal bearing calculation, but many scholars ignored the effect of viscosity-temperature, which may produce some error. The simulation of journal bearing oil film flow field is done using CFD, and the viscosity-temperature and cavitation effect have been consider. The results shows that the capacity and temperature rise of the oil film will be overrated when using the constant viscosity of oil. The vapor distribution and static characteristics of the journal bearing have been calculate at last.

In view of the difficulty of traditional hydrocyclones to meet the requirements of fine classification, a double-overflow three-product (internal overflow, external overflow and underflow) hydrocyclone was designed in this study. Numerical simulation and experimental research methods were used to investigate the effects of double-overflow flow field characteristics and structural parameters (i.e., internal vortex finder diameter and insertion depth) on separation performance. The research results showed that the larger the diameter of the internal vortex finder, the greater the overflow yield and the larger the cut size. The finest internal overflow product can be obtained when the internal vortex finder is 30 mm longer than the external vortex finder. The separation efficiency is highest when the internal vortex finder is 30 mm shorter than the external vortex finder.

Gas-liquid two-phase flows on the wall like liquid film flows, which are the so-called wetted wall flows, are observed in many industrial processes such as absorption, desorption, distillation and others. For the optimum design of packed columns widely used in those kind of processes, the accurate predictions of the details on the wetted wall flow behavior in packing elements are important, especially in order to enhance the mass transfer between the gas and liquid and to prevent flooding and channeling of the liquid flow. The present study focused on the effects of the change of liquid flow rate and the wall surface texture treatments on the characteristics of wetted wall flows which have the drastic flow transition between the film flow and rivulet flow. In this paper, the three-dimensional gas-liquid two-phase flow simulation by using the volume of fluid (VOF) model is applied into wetted wall flows. Firstly, as one of new interesting findings in this paper, present results showed that the hysteresis of the flow transition between the film flow and rivulet flow arose against the increasing or decreasing stages of the liquid flow rate. It was supposed that this transition phenomenon depends on the history of flow pattern as the change of curvature of interphase surface which leads to the surface tension. Additionally, the applicability and accuracy of the present numerical simulation were validated by using the existing experimental and theoretical studies with smooth wall surface. Secondary, referring to the texture geometry used in an industrial packing element, the present simulations showed that surface texture treatments added on the wall can improve the prevention of liquid channeling and can increase the wetted area.

Large eddy simulation (LES) was made to solve the flow around two simplified CRH2 high speed trains passing by each other at the same speed base on the finite volume method and dynamic layering mesh method and three dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. Wind tunnel experimental method of resting train with relative flowing air and dynamic mesh method of moving train were compared. The results of numerical simulation show that the flow field structure around train is completely different between wind tunnel experiment and factual running. Two opposite moving couple of point source and point sink constitute the whole flow field structure during the high speed trains passing by each other. All of streamlines originate from point source (nose) and finish with the closer point sink (tail). The flow field structure around train is similar with different vehicle speed.
