Intellectual Capital is essential in every economical activity. The aim of this study how intellectual capital impact on financial performance in Sri Lankan financial institution. To achieve objective of this research banking institution has been selected from Colombo Stock Exchange financial directory for the period from 2016 to 2020. Random sampling technique were used to analysis the data. MVIAC model used for the measurement of independent variable in this study. This model is a composite sum of two indicators these are Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE) - indicator of VA efficiency of capital employed and Intellectual Capital Efficiency (ICE) – indicator of value-added efficiency ofcompany’s Intellectual Capital base. Intellectual Capital Efficiency is composed of (a) Human Capital Efficiency (HCE) – indicator of value-added efficiency of human capital; and (b) Structural Capital Efficiency (SCE) – indicator of value-added efficiency of structural capital (c) Rational Capital Efficiency (RCE). Finding represent that intellectual capital has significant impact on financial performance of Sri Lankan financial institution, specially banking industry. SCE and CEE has negative impact while RCE impact positively on financial performance.

The performance of banks has been widely researched using accounting ratios, Tobin�s Q and market returns and less emphasis has been given to productivity measures. The productivity growth of banks is captured through Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI). The study then investigates the impact of intellectual capital on the productivity of banks in Pakistan. Value-added The intellectual Coefficient (VAIC) approach is employed to examine the intellectual capital of banks. Data is obtained from annual reports of 20 banks listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange for 10 years (2007-2016). The panel corrected standard error approach is used for estimating the panel regression model. The findings provide evidence that the VAIC, human capital efficiency (HCE) and structural capital efficiency (SCE) has a positive impact on productivity growth (MPI). On the other hand, capital employed efficiency (CEE) has no significant impact on productivity growth. The VAIC approach may be useful for the banks and policymakers in a knowledge economy to integrate the intellectual capital in the decision-making process. Our results also suggest that banks in Pakistan shall increase spending on intellectual capital particularly on human capital and structural capital to elevate the intellectual capital of banks and subsequently get benefits in terms of increased productivity Keywords: Intellectual capital; Value added intellectual coefficient (VAIC); Malmquist productivity Index; Pakistan banking sector

The objective of this study are to analyze the impact of intellectual capital (HumanCapital, Structure Capital and Physical Capital) on company’s financial performance Return on Assets (ROA) dan Return On Equity (ROE). This research used banking company data that listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) 2011-2012. The model that used to measure intellectual capital was Pulic model agregatly-using Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC™) or separately-using Human Capital Efficiency (HCE), Structure Capital Efficiency (SCE), and Physical Capital/ Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE). The result show: (1) Human Capital Efficiency (HCE) not significant  impact on ROA, (2) Human Capital Efficiency (HCE) not significant impact on ROE, (3) Structure Capital Efficiency (SCE) not significant impact on ROA, (4) Structure Capital Efficiency (SCE) negative impact on ROE (5) Physical Capital/Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE) has a positive significant impact on ROA, (6) Physical Capital/Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE) has a positive significant impact on ROE

Since the financial sector reforms took place in the last two decades, Banks in Tanzania have continued to play the major role in reshaping the economy of the nation. With the emergence of knowledge based economy many firm have changed their way of doing business instead of relying more on physical capital they have shifted to intellectual capital. This is no exception for the banks operating in developing counties Tanzania included. Many studies have been done in the area of intellectual capital and its contribution to the value of the firm. This study sets out to extend the evidence by investigating the intellectual capital of banks operating in Tanzania for the period of four years from 2010 to 2013. Annual reports, especially the profit and loss accounts and balance sheets of the selected banks have been used to obtain the data. The study uses Value Added Intellectual Capital model (VAICTM) in determining intellectual capital and its three major components like Human Capital Efficiency (HCE) Structural capital efficiency (SCE) and Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE). The results revealed that Intellectual capital has a positive relationship with financial performance of banks operating in Tanzania and also when the VAICTM was divided into its three components it was discovered that the financial performance is positively related to Human capital efficiency and Capital employed efficiency but is negatively related to Structural capital efficiency.

The study contributes to the existing literature on intellectual capital (IC) performance and profitability by extending evidence from Pakistan. The study examines the impact of IC performance on the profitability of Pakistani financial institutions. It further examines how corporate governance, bank specific, industry specific, and country specific indicators effect Pakistani banks’ profitability. The result reports both the linear and non-linear impact of IC performance on profitability, which affirms an inverted U–shaped relationship. Among the three value added intellectual coefficient (VAIC) components, capital employed efficiency (CEE), and human capital efficiency (HCE) are found to have a significantly positive and structural capital efficiency (SCE) is found to have a significantly negative impact on bank profitability. The study notes a positive impact on profitability of factors like board independence, directors’ compensation, and higher capitalization. It reports a negative impact on profitability of factors like board size, board meetings, credit risk, industry concentration and economic growth. The results also indicate low profitability of banks during the period of government transition. The study provides insights into the important profitability drives and suggests that the impact of investment in IC on profitability is limited to an extent. The findings of this study are likely to be useful for policy makers, management, and academics.

The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the relationship between intellectual capital (IC) measured by the value-added intellectual coefficient (VAIC) and firms’ performance (FP) in the Saudi context. Data are drawn from a sample of 25 Saudi firms listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) for the period 2015-2018. Using the VAIC model, the multiple linear regression models were constructed to examine the relationship between intellectual capital (IC) and firms’ performance (measured in terms of financial and market performance). The findings indicate that there is a positive association between overall intellectual capital efficiency as well as each of its three components (human capital efficiency, structural capital efficiency, capital employed efficiency) and the firms’ financial performance. Additionally, there is a positive association between human capital efficiency(HCE), structural capital efficiency (SCE), and the firms’ market performance. Overall, the findings suggest that human capital efficiency (HCE) has a significant and positive impact on firms’ financial and market performance in Saudi Arabia. The VAIC method may be a useful tool for managers and investors in their decision process. This is the first study about the impact of intellectual capital on firms’ performance in four industry groups in Saudi Arabia using the VAIC model.

The current study is aimed at analyzing the impact of intellectual capital on the performance of Sharia-compliant banks in Saudi Arabia for the period 2013–2018. The intellectual capital efficiency has been measured by applying a widely-used proxy to intellectual capital, i.e., Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC). A multiple linear regression method, based on panel data using the pooled Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), was exerted. Regression equations were obtained to determine the impact of VAIC and its components (Human Capital Efficiency (HCE), Structural Capital Efficiency (SCE), and Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE)) on the financial performance of banks, designated as Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). The study has found out that VAIC has a statistically significant impact on the financial performance of Sharia-compliant banks in Saudi Arabia. But VAIC components fail to have a significant impact on ROE. However, these components significantly affect ROA. The study concludes that Sharia-compliant banks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia should pay particular attention to Intellectual Capital (IC) in general and Human Capital (HC), Structural Capital (SC), and Employed Capital (EC) in particular to increase Return on Assets and financial performance as a whole.

The value of the company's resources can be measured using Intellectual Capital. A company can measure the value added by the company through the company's resources by using Intellectual Capital. This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of independent variables Human Capital Efficiency (HCE), Structural Capital Efficiency (SCE) and Capital Employed Efficiency (CEE) on the dependent variable, Return on Assets (ROA). Population in this study are mining sector companies in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research sample used a purposive sampling method to obtain 41 mining sector companies in the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2016-2017 that met the research criteria. Data that has been collected will be analyzed using multiple linear regression methods and classical assumption tests. The study found that HCE and SCE had no effect on ROA, whereas CEE had a positive effect on ROA. This shows the factors that influence the financial performance of mining sector companies capital employee of the company. The manager of the mining sector company is expected to be able to increase the use of human capital and structural capital in the company's operations to increase its influence on the company's financial performance. Having observed the rate at which dissimilarity occurs between market and book value, and management ignorance concerning the impact intellectual capital disclosure has on companies’ values spurred the interest to probe the association between the efficiency of value-added intellectual coefficient (VAIC) and market-based financial performance of listed Nigerian conglomerate companies. To accomplish the purpose of this study, secondary data were employed and extracted from annual audited reports of listed conglomerate companies in Nigeria from the period of 2010–2018. The data obtained were subjected to static panel data regression analysis technique. The random-effects model was adopted because the empirical result from Breusch and Pagan Lagrangian multiplier (BP-LM) and Hausman tests chose it over the fixed-effects model to produce better results. This study revealed that the value-added efficiency of capital employed (VACA), value-added efficiency of human capital (VAHU), and value-added efficiency of structural capital (STVA) are the drivers of intellectual capital in the conglomerate sector. This study concluded that elements of intellectual capital have a strong power on market-based financial performance. This study recommends that information on intellectual capital components should be reported in ways they deem fit by developing a model of intellectual capital disclosure that complies with the International Accounting Standard Board (IASB)

This study also analyzes how much financial performancechanges occur as an effect of the efficiency of the use of capital employees (CEE), the efficiencyof using Structural Capital (SCE), and the partial efficiency of using Human Capital (HCE).Research was conducted on conventional banking in Indonesia for the period 2013 - 2017. Theresearch data was obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Thisstudy found that VAIC had a significant positive effect on ROA, and from the three IC components itturned out that the CEE component had the greatest influence on ROA

<p class="Style1"><em>This study aims to ident6 and analyze the effect of intellectual capital as one of the company's intangible assets to market value and financial performance<sup>.</sup>of the company-manufacturing companies using the Value Added Intellectual Capital (VAIC <sup>m</sup>). The analysis method used is multiple panels because the structure of the data used in this research is the data panel. The results of the hypothesis theory shows that the intellectual capital has significant effect on the market value and performance of the company. The three components of intellectual capital, as the physical capital efficiency, human capital and structural capital efficiency, have a positive effect on firm value and performance of companies that dproksi by ROA, ATO, ROE and OI / S. So do the results of statistical tests, except for the efficiency of the human capital and structural capital efficiency ROE against Of / S. The results show that intellectual capital is a factor that is very important and significant effect on the quality of the company which in turn directly affects firm value andfinancial performance of the company.</em></p>
