The concepts of expectation, anomaly, and unexpectedness that Philip J. Deloria developed in Indians in Unexpected Places (2004) have shaped a wide range of interdisciplinary research projects. In the process, those terms have changed the ways it is possible to think about American Indian representation, cosmopolitanism, and agency. This article revisits my own work in this area and provides a short survey of related scholarship in order to reassess the concept of unexpectedness in the present moment and to consider the ways my deployment of it might change in order to better meet the needs of my students. To begin a process of engaging intergenerational perspectives on this subject, the article concludes with an interview with Dr. Jacob E. Perea, dean emeritus of the Graduate College of Education at San Francisco State University and a veteran of the 1969 student strikes that founded the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University.

Times have changed and teachers have evolved. New technologies have opened up the classroom to the outside world. Teachers who were seen with textbooks and blackboard are now using varied technological tools to empower learners to publish works and engage learners with live audience in real contexts. In this digital era an ever-expanding array of powerful software has been made available. The flipped classroom is a shift from passive to active learning to focus on higher order thinking skills such as analysis, synthesis and evaluation. This model of teaching combines pedagogy and learning technologies. Significant learning happens through facilitating active learning through engaged learners. In this approach learning materials are provided through text, video, audio and multimedia. Students take responsibility of their learning. They work together applying course concepts with guidance from the instructor. This increased interaction helps to create a learning community that encourages them to build knowledge inside and outside the classroom.

This study title Effect of fixed facilitator model on NCE Technology Education Students’Attitude and Academic Performance in Niger State, Nigeria. The study used quasiexperimental design. The total population was 942, while the sample size was 216educational technology from two colleges of Education in Niger State. The test instrumentdeveloped by the researcher for the study was the Student‘s Performance AssessmentInstrument (SPAI) and Technology Education Student Attitude Questionnaire (TESAQ)which contained 50 questions. The statistic used were t-test independent sample cumulativemean and the finding of the study standard deviation. The findings of the study revealed thatNCE students performed better when taught with fixed facilitator model compared to theircounter parts taught with lecture method. Based on the results obtained the researcherrecommended that: the instructors of Technology Education should endeavor to use fixedfacilitator model in teaching Technology Education in college of education.

本論では、教室で実施される客観テストに使用される問題の作成に必要な3つのステップを紹介する。具体的には、1. カリキュラム全体のゴールや学習行動目標の決定と構成概念の構築を含むテスト準備、2. テスト細目表の作成、3. 問題作成である。評価は授業と密接につながっており、授業は学習行動目標が反映されていなければならない。したがって、学習行動目標なしにテスト作成はできない。さらに、構成概念や授業で学習したユニットやトピックをバランスよく測定するにはテスト細目表が非常に便利である。テスト細目表とは、学習行動目標とトピック等の内容を二方向に1つの表にまとめたものである。最後に、テスト問題を作成するにあたって言語やフォーマット関連等の様々な注意点を紹介する。 This paper introduces three important steps for writing items in objective tests used in classroom-contexts; namely, preparing for the test, which includes writing course goals and objectives and defining the construct, making a table of specifications, and writing items. Because assessment is deeply intertwined with instruction, which reflects pre-determined course goals and objectives, tests cannot be developed without instructional goals and objectives. Furthermore, in order to assess constructs and units/topics covered in the class in a balanced manner, a table of specifications, which is a two-way chart that lists both the instructional objectives and test content, is an important tool. Finally, several tips for developing items are introduced.
