PurposeQuality in the construction industry is an important issue yet ignored during the initial stages of the life cycle of a project, that is, the design and construction stage. The contribution of stakeholders, especially the architects is generally suspended though it has huge significance in terms of cost and time related to quality. This research endeavors to examine the issues related to the design and construction stages of the project from architects' purview, to understand the relative importance of these issues in the Indian construction industry.Design/methodology/approachThe study of qualitative data conducted formed a basis for online quantitative data collection that was further analyzed with the help of cross-tabulation and multiple correspondence analysis methods.FindingsThe study concludes that the budget of a project is a corresponding factor related to quality concern for architects. The study also established that the quality issues corresponding to high budgets are closely related to the construction stage and are identified as preparation of checklist, and bidding process of hiring the contractor on the lowest bid.Research limitations/implicationsThe study is limited to analyzing the perspective of architects; however, other stakeholders of the construction industry may represent a different opinion.Practical implicationsThis research emphasizes the importance of the client's role, and need for integration and coordination among stakeholders in the construction industry for effective quality control and management.Originality/valueThe research presents an exhaustive literature review on quality issues and its importance with respect to cost implications, standard practices, sustainability and the life cycle of the project.

The cost management for construction enterprises is an important link of whole process engineering cost control in project construction. This article elaborates the details and procedures of the construction enterprises’ cost management in the construction stage. In the paper, it will be divided into three steps which are the stage of preparing, implementation and completion of project, and construction enterprises will separately use the methods of pre-control, control in process and afterwards control in each step for the cost management.

Jembatan Lemah Ireng 1 pada ruas jalan Tol Semarang-Bawen terbuat dari beton prategang dengan panjang total 879 m. Pada masa konstruksi dua perbedaan kondisi teknik terhadap rencana, yakni perubahan material pasir dan perubahan perpindahan traveler. Keduanya diduga sebagai penyebab perbedaan elevasi desain dengan elevasi aktual sehingga dilakukan levelling aspal dengan tebal bervariasi. Jembatan ini didesain untuk memenuhi masa layan 100 tahun namun berdasarkan kondisi aktual, diperlukan peninjauan terhadap perilaku dan kuat layan jembatan hingga umur rencana. Dengan pengaruh variasi pembebanan jangka panjang (rangkak susut) dan kondisi perubahan teknis akibat penambahan aspal, penelitian rangkak susut ini perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui perilaku lendutan pada gelagar boks jembatan hingga umur rencana. Beberapa tahapan pembebanan yang dilakukan adalah menerapkan beban levelling aspal, dan beban rangkak dan susut dengan menggunakan variasi durasi jangka panjang dengan interval 5, 10 , 15, 20, 40, 60, 80 dan 100 tahun. Analisis dilakukan secara linear statik serta memanfaatkan fasilitas Construction Stage Analysis untuk efek time-dependent pada software Midas Civil 2011. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan hanya meninjau aksi tetap. Perilaku rangkak susut jembatan cukup signifikan di 5 tahun pertama setelah konstruksi selesai. Lendutan maksimum rangkak susut dan total berada di bentang terpanjang (P4-P5)  masing-masing sebesar 17,53 dan 25,71 cm. Lendutan yang terjadi hingga umur rencana 100 tahun masih dalam batas izin, namun tetap perlu pengawasan yang terencana. Dampak minimum rangkak susut terhadap total lendutan pada jembatan Lemah Ireng 1 sebesar 45%. Hal ini menunjukkan rangkak susut terhadap defleksi total hingga umur rencana merupakan efek jangka panjang yang relatif besar.

The introduction of information and digital technologies that support and support all technological processes in the field is an urgent need for the development and implementation of such technology. An organisationally complex and financially intensive project is necessary because of the wide variety of economic entities that differ in the size of production, forms of ownership and socio-economic conditions of production. Automated information control system for mobile units agricultural enterprise provides those-Niko-economic performance, optimum capacity utilization through the use of timely and reliable information on technology. Machine and tractor aggregates are appertained as control objects with variable structure, which is explained by possibility of the system formation from tractor or field machines mobile units with various purposes: tillable, cultivatable, sowing, harvesting and etc. This MTA feature was determined creation of digital control systems of two groups of automatic control and management of the basic energy and operational parameters: tractors, machines and vehicles as part of MTA. To the first group are appertained the automatic control system of tractor motor component loading, motion speed, frictional sliding. To the second group – automatic regulation system of operating depth, seed rate, treatment of liquid combined fertilizers and crop protection agents, filling and driving of various MTA. Novelty of researches consists in methodology of the organization of the centralized control and management of various technological processes at carrying out field works.

This article aims to develop a hardware-software system for access control and management based on the hardware platforms Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi. The developed software and hardware system is designed to collect data and store them in the database. The presented complex can be carried and used anywhere, which explains its high mobility.
