Abstract MS Tunis, Dār al-kutub al-waṭaniyya, 7116, is the only extant manuscript containing a complete copy of the Isḥāq/Ṯābit version of the Almagest. Paul Kunitzsch has underlined the close similarities between the marginal notes in the Tunis manuscript and those in Gerard of Cremona’s Latin translation of the Almagest, so that Kunitzsch has concluded that Gerard of Cremona had a manuscript close to the Tunis manuscript before him during the revision of his translation of the Almagest. A note in MS Tunis, Dār al-kutub al-waṭaniyya, 7116, points out that this manuscript was copied from a model owned by al-Arawšī, a bibliophile living in Valencia famous for the size of his library, a significant part of which was looted by al-Maʾmūn b. Ḏī l-Nūn and sent to Toledo, arguably shortly before Ṣāʿid al-Andalusī wrote his Ṭabaqāt al-umam. Based on MS Tunis, Dār al-kutub al-waṭaniyya, 7116, the present contribution explores the significance of al-Arawšī’s looted library as an important link between Umayyad Cordoba and Toledo. It also calls attention to the highly unusual paper of MS Tunis, Dār al-kutub al-waṭaniyya, 7116, made of woven fibers, maybe flax.

Abstract The twelfth-century Tibetan scholar Gyamarwa Jangchupdrak (rgya dmar ba byang chub grags) is an important link in the Madhyamaka tradition that stemmed from Ngok Loden Shérap (rngog blo ldan shes rab, 1059–1109). His recently recovered Analysis of the Essence of Madhyamaka offers significant insight into the diverse positions of numerous scholars who took part in the discussion before and around his time, but who are only identified in interlinear notes. In this paper I discuss the identity of these thinkers and the contribution of this text-cum-marginalia to the mapping of early Tibetan Madhyamaka scholars and ideas.

Li Xianglan, or Ri Koran in Japanese, was a screen sensation and popular culture icon during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Her story of success, however, was overshadowed by her hidden identity as Yamaguchi Yoshiko, a Manchurian-born Japanese promoting Japanese imperialist ideology through the guise of her on-screen Chinese personae. The National Policy Company Manchurian Film Association (Man'ei for short) was established by the Kwantung Army to accelerate the dissemination of Japanese imperialist propaganda. The choice of Ri Koran as the face of Man'ei underlines the significance of her controversial and ambiguous allure, which enabled her to navigate, or “border cross,” the complex waters of wartime politics and popular culture during the Sino-Japanese conflict. Through a detailed analysis of one of the Continental Trilogy of films, China Nights (1940), this thesis illustrates how Ri Koran was crafted into a living embodiment of “Hakko Ichiu”, the guiding ideological principle of The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. I investigate the manifestation of “Hakko Ichiu” (Gozoku Kyowa in the Manchurian context) though analysis of particular scenes in the film as well as its use of music, historically known as Continental Melodies. Drawing from existing scholarship by both historians and film scholars, this thesis establishes an important link between these two previously separate scholarly discourses on Ri Koran.

The results of the previous studies have shown that the use of nutrient complexes with vitamin and mineral compositions in rehabilitation schemes for patients who have undergone viral infections, including COVID-19, is an important link in rehabilitation measures and post COVID-19. The article pathogenetically substantiates the use of biologically active food supplements containing vitamins A, D3, E, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, folic acid, zinc, vanadium, catechins, proanthocyanidins, flavonoids and glycyrrhizic acid.

Abstract Based on bank level data from the euro area, I investigate the role of non-performing loans (NPLs) for lending rates on newly granted loans. The focus is on an effect caused by the stock of NPLs that extends beyond losses that banks have already incorporated into their reported capital positions. The paper assesses the channels through which such an effect occurs. The results indicate that a higher stock of NPLs is associated with higher lending rates. This relation is driven by net NPLs, which constitute the part of NPLs that is not covered by loan loss reserves. Although the stock of NPLs affects banks’ idiosyncratic funding costs as well, the latter do not seem to constitute an important link between the stock of net NPLs and lending behaviour. This is because the relation between idiosyncratic funding costs and lending rates turns out to be rather weak. Furthermore, NPLs do not strongly affect the banks’ interest rate pass-through.

Abstract As an important link of emergency logistics, emergency material distribution has been widely concerned and applied in the development of today’s society. From the consideration of the fairness and efficiency of material distribution, there is a kind of negative and negative relationship between them. As a lever, information updating can be used to solve the problems of fairness and efficiency in the distribution of emergency supplies. Based on fuzzy objective programming, the classification decision model of emergency materials is discussed in this paper.

Aristophanes is a key piece for the Greek musical lexicon. The plenty of testimonies that he gives, his technical appreciations and the creation of new musical terms make him an important link in the scope of the ancient music. His interest in the detail is made evident in the description concerning songs and, especially, musical instruments.

The community with a shared future for mankind is taken from one of the theoretical sources, which is the innovative development of global history theory in contemporary times, which is Marx’s world history theory. A community with a shared future for humanity, on the other hand, is not the end shape of world history, but it is an important link in its growth. World history, on the other hand, being the theoretical source of a community with a shared future for mankind, includes logical stipulations on such a society. Clarifying the relationship between a community with a common future for mankind and global history, as well as accurately grasping the community’s transitional position in world history, is beneficial to better encouraging the development of a community with a shared future for mankind.
