Malignant mucosal melanoma is very rare entity. It comprises about 1% of all malignant melanoma and exhibit more aggressive behaviour than that of skin melanomas. Mucosal melanoma arises mainly from the mucous membranes of head and neck, the female genital organs or the anorectal and the urinary tracts.  Laryngeal malignant melanoma constitutes 3.8% to 7.4% of all cases of malignant mucosal melanoma of head and neck. In this article we report a case of primary malignant mucosal melanoma of larynx in 27 years old male who was treated with radical surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy in BPKM Cancer Hospital, Chitwan.

Incarcerated prolapse in association with bladder calculi is a rare occurrence. Table sugar and salt, which are both hygroscopic agents, have been used to reduce incarcerated bowel prolapse. Table sugar and salt was used in the following case of incarcerated procidencia with vescical calculi. Cystotomy with bladder stone removal was done by abdominal route. Total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingoopherectomy was done with pelvic floor repair and vault suspension.

A posztoperatív pajzsmirigyműködés normális maradt.

Introduction. The effectiveness of the Asian regimen of adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer in the European population remains unclear. The aim of our study was a retrospective assessment of adjuvant chemotherapy (XELOX regimen) after radical surgery (R0) on overall survival. Methods. Database of pts with resectable gastric cancer with stage >pT3 and/or pN+ and M0, who were operated (R0) at single oncological institution during 2007-2017 was reviewed. In univariate and multivariate analyzes were included demographic characteristics, type of tumor according to Lauren, stage, type of treatment and others. Results. 396 pts were identified and 286 were available for analysis.106 (37%) pts received at least one cycle of adjuvant chemotherapy. In univariate analysis, 5OS rate was 64% [95% Cl, 52-80] и 56% [95% Cl, 48-64; p=0,21] in patients received adjuvant chemotherapy and only surgical treatment. After stratifying patients depending on the regional lymph nodes metastasis, 5OS rate in pts with pN1-3 was 69% [95% CI, 57-85] vs 47% [95% CI, 39-58; p = 0,01], respectively...

Abstract Background Leech infestation in the nose or nasopharyngeal region is a rare occurrence. The most common known cause is drinking water from natural water sources like ponds and rivers. Its hidden location of attachment in the nasopharynx and its uncommon occurrence make it easy to miss during diagnosis. Case presentation We present a case of a 61-year-old male patient with recurrent unilateral epistaxis without any apparent cause. He was diagnosed with leech infestation in the nasopharynx on endoscopic examination. This article reports the management of nasopharyngeal leech infestation and safety measures for this animate foreign body retrieval. Conclusion A vigilant approach, thorough history, and examination are a must. Though leeches are simple to remove most of the time, certain necessary precaution should be kept in mind for better management and prevention of further complications.
