Embodied meaning: A systemic functional perspective on paralanguage

An engaged and perceptive contemplation of the Qur'an forms one of the most important bases for the cultural and social advancement of Muslims in all walks of life, and the absence of such study is one of the reasons behind the general cultural attenuation in the modern world. Reflection is one of the means of the construction and formation of a civilised society. The applied faculty of intellect creates an environment which allows reflective and considered thought to be developed from a functional perspective for the general well-being of society. Meanwhile the effective neglect of such study leads to the proliferation of superstition, dissent and social conflict. Indeed it can even be argued that it diminishes the significance of the laws and conventions which serve as the backbone of society. This paper reveals a number of factors which can impede the achievement of such an engaged study of the text: thus, for instance, thoughtless obedience to societal conventions; shortcomings in educational systems and syllabi; and a failure to encompass the significance of the Arabic language. Furthermore this paper presents several effective suggestions for nurturing students' potential, encouraging an environment which allows freedom of thought, and its refinement.

Background: For decades, Praziquantel has been the undisputed drug of choice for all schistosome infections, but rising concerns due to the unelucidated mechanism of action of the drug and unavoidable reports of emerging drug resistant strains has necessitated the need for alternative treatment drug. Moreover, current apprehension has been reinforced by total dependence on the drug for treatment hence, the search for novel and effective anti-schistosomal drugs. Uses: This study made use of bioinformatic tools to determine the structural binding of the Universal G4LZI3 stress protein (USP) in complex with ten polyphenol compounds, thereby highlighting the effectiveness of these recently identified ‘lead’ molecules in the design of novel therapeutics targeted against schistosomiasis. Upregulation of the G4LZI3 USP throughout the schistosome multifaceted developmental cycle sparks interest in its potential role as a druggable target. The integration of in silico tools provides an atomistic perspective into the binding of potential inhibitors to target proteins. Conclusion: This study therefore, implemented the use of molecular dynamic (MD) simulations to provide functional and structural insight into key conformational changes upon binding of G4ZLI3 to these key phenolic compounds. Post-MD analyses revealed unique structural and conformational changes in the G4LZI3 protein in complex with curcumin and catechin respectively. These systems exhibited the highest binding energies, while the major interacting residues conserved in all the complexes provides a route map for structure-based drug design of novel compounds with enhanced inhibitory potency against the G4LZI3 protein. This study suggests an alternative approach for the development of anti-schistosomal drugs using natural compounds.

Identifying geographical spatial conflicts and optimizing development patterns are important prerequisites for eliminating the conflicts of geographical spatial conflict. The paper takes the Wuhan Metropolitan Area as an example. Using grid-scale data, we construct a multi-functional suitability evaluation index system for geographical space, starting from three dimensions: ecological protection, agricultural production and urban construction. The multi-index comprehensive evaluation method is used to measure the geographical spatial suitability level and identify the characteristics of geographical spatial conflict patterns. Three-dimensional Rubik's cube model is used to divide the space conflict types and optimize the partition. We found that the areas with suitable ecological protection functions and more suitable areas are mainly distributed near the waters and the Dabie Mountains and Mufu Mountains with relatively high altitude in Wuhan Metropolitan Area. Suitable areas for agricultural production functions are concentrated in the Jianghan Plain. Suitable areas for urban construction functions are concentrated around urban areas, established towns, and major transportation routes. Regions with high intensity of land and space conflicts are mainly located in the central and northwestern parts of the Wuhan Metropolitan Area. Regions with low levels of conflict are concentrated in the west, northeast, and southeast regions of the Wuhan Metropolitan Area. The degree of geographical spatial conflict in Wuhan Metropolitan Area can be divided into three primary zones and 12 secondary zones, which are intense conflict zone, general conflict zone, and weak conflict zone. Based on multi-functional perspective, identifying and analyzing the types of geographical spatial conflict will help locate the development direction of different conflict areas and provide theoretical and technical support for the optimization of geographical space.

Biomarker discovery would be an important tool in advancing and utilizing the concept of precision and personalized medicine in the clinic. Discovery of novel variants in local population provides confident targets for developing biomarkers for personalized medicine. We identified the need to generate high-quality sequencing data from local colorectal cancer patients and understand the pattern of occurrence of variants. In this report, we used archived samples from Saudi Arabia and used the AmpliSeq comprehensive cancer panel to identify novel somatic variants. We report a comprehensive analysis of next-generation sequencing results with a coverage of >300X. We identified 466 novel variants which were previously unreported in COSMIC and ICGC databases. We analyzed the genes associated with these variants in terms of their frequency of occurrence, probable pathogenicity, and clinicopathological features. Among pathogenic somatic variants, 174 were identified for the first time in the large intestine. APC, RET, and EGFR genes were most frequently mutated. A higher number of variants were identified in the left colon. Occurrence of variants in ERBB2 was significantly correlated with those of EGFR and ATR genes. Network analyses of the identified genes provide functional perspective of the identified genes and suggest affected pathways and probable biomarker candidates. This report lays the ground work for biomarker discovery and identification of driver gene mutations in local population.
