Background: There are several diseases which arise in gall bladder and one of them is gall stones (cholelithiasis). The prevalence rate is difficult to work out because calculous disease is often asymptomatic. Cholelithiasis has become one among the foremost common diseases of the biliary tract. approximately 80 percent of gallstones contain cholesterol and therefore the remaining 20 percent are pigment stones, which consist mainly of calcium bilirubinate. Case Report: A 35-year male patient approached complaints of heaviness of abdomen, mild intermittent abdomen pain, nausea and with ultrasonography report which was suggestive of cholelithiasis of 4.7mm. Conclusion: The patient was diagnosed as Pittashmari and treated with ayurvedic medicine. With the help of Ayurvedic treatment protocol, the patient was free from 4.7mm cholelithiasis within 2 months of treatment and also improvement was observed in symptoms like the heaviness of the abdomen, pain in the abdomen, and nausea.

Abstract Background Plaque Psoriasis is very embarrassing condition of skin as it produces itchy rashes and scaly lesions which may not respond well to the treatment. It can be correlated with Kitibhakushta which is one among the 18 types of Kushta (skin diseases). Several corticosteroids for skin applications are used now a day’s which gives only temporary relief. Case presentation A 36 years old moderate built male patient complains of blackish skin rashes with itching, pain and scaling all over the body for three months. Based on the symptoms, Dosha (Biological humors) involved were assessed as Kapha (binding factors) and Vata (vital force of life) and suggestive of Kitibhakushta. Diagnosis of the Plaque psoriasis was further confirmed by biopsy. Classical Kushta treatment was adopted here. As Poorvakarma (pre-operative procedures), Rukshana (Dehydrating therapy) was done and then Snehapana (intake of medicated ghee) was administered. Then classical Vamana (emetic therapy) and Virechana (purgative therapy) were performed. This took almost one month. After Samsarjana (special diet) patient was administered Manibhadragula as Shodhana Rasayana for a period of one month. Results At the end of Manibhadragula intake, remarkable changes were observed in all the symptoms. There were significant changes seen in PASI, DLQI and photographs taken before and after treatment. Conclusions Here the special mode of administration of Manibhadragula as mentioned in Ashtanga Hridaya helps for Shodhana and the Shodhana itself has Rasayana action. Drugs also have Rasayana property. This made the authors to propose a new concept called Shodhana Rasayana. Classical treatment by considering the condition of Roga (disease) and Rogi (patient) helps for management of Kushta.

Background. Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is a rare autoimmune blistering skin disease in the elderly and it is manifested by cutaneous blisters on the skin lesions. The objective was to emphasize the rare case of BP. Methods. A case report of BP in a 58-year-old male patient admitted to a dermatology ward is presented. Results. A 58-year-old male patient with complaints of fluid-filled skin lesions, was examined initially over the trunk, gradually progressed involving B/L upper and lower extremities. Even though the patient was treated with the recommended therapy of corticosteroid (Dexamethasone) along with adjuvant drugs, new skin lesions continued to develop, and the patient’s condition worsened. The Prednisolone was started in place of Dexamethasone on the fifth day of treatment at its higher dose (50mg/day), the Prednisolone proved its efficacy to combat the extensive condition of BP. Conclusions. Bullous pemphigoid is a distressing blistering skin disease. Untreated disease is often fatal because of the susceptibility to infection and fluid-electrolyte disturbances. The mortality of patients with bullous pemphigoid has been significantly reduced with the advent of new therapies and treatment modalities. The treatment with systemic and topical corticosteroids forms the mainstay of treatment along with other adjuvant drugs. In the present case study, the use of Prednisolone has proven its efficacy in the extensive disease state of BP and improved the patient’s quality of life.

All skin disease under the sunshade of the Kustha, in other word it can be listed as “Ayurvedic dermatology” in Ayurveda. It is not a vis-à-vis correlation but one can cover up all dermatological manifestations under 18 subtypes of Kustha. All Kustha are Tridoshaja, hence Vicharchika can be explained in similar manner. Vicharchika have greater correlation with eczema/dermatitis in modern science. Eczema is a condition where patches of skin become inflamed, itchy, red, cracked and rough. A case of 67 year old male patient, presented with Kandu, Daha, Srava, Vedana, Vaivarnya, Vrana etc lakshanas of Vicharchika on his Vama Hasta (Left hand) with reoccurrence, since last 2 years, patient was tired of a lot of medicines, visited to Gurukul Campus, U.A.U, Haridwar for further treatment. Epidermolysis bullosa is an uncommon skin disease which manifests itself at birth or in early infancy. It is characterized by blister formation occurring spontaneously or after friction or slight trauma.1 Involvement of the skin and mucous membranes is the chief clinical feature in this disease. Various systems of the body are affected either primarily or secondary to bullae and scarring of their mucous membranes. These include the conjunctiva of the eye, the mouth, the larynx, the esophagus, and the lung secondary to dysphagic pneumonitis.2 Herein is reported the first case of genitourinary tract involvement found in this disease. In Urticaria Vata and Kapha are two doshas that are primarily vitiated and being mixed with pitta (Pittena Saha Sambhooya) spreads internally and Externally (Bahir Aantah Visarpah) and results in to ‘Shittapitta-Udarda-Ko- tha’1. Due to Pitta dosha they create redness, swelling on the skin and moderate to severe itching on the skin. Ayurveda Herbo minerals preparation cures urticaria by balancing Tridoshas in the body. Shittapitta manifests due to exposure to various poisonous materials (allergens), cold environment and intake of Asatmya Ahar Vihar. In modern science, it is compared with urticaria. Hives (urticaria) are red, itchy welts that occur when the skin meets allergen releases histamine and other chemicals. The welts vary in size, appear and then disappear repeatedly as the reaction runs its course. The condition is considered chronic hives if the welts appear for more than six weeks and recur frequently over months or years. Episodes of urticaria may relapse for days, weeks, months or years. In Ayur- veda Herbo-minerals preparation effectively treat Shittapitta and restore healthy skin by balancing Tridosha and Sapta dhatu in the body. Keywords Urticaria, Shittapitta, Dosha, Tridosha, hives

The thyroid gland controls the metabolism in the human body. In primary hypothyroidism, the thyroid is being stimulated properly but it isn’t able to produce enough thyroid hormones for the body to function properly. This means that the thyroid itself is the source of the problem. In this research is presented a case of 39 year old male patient diagnosed with primary hypothyroidism. Before coming to the clinic the patient was feeling fatigue, had loss of energy, loss of hair, was gaining weight and other typical symptoms for hypothyroidism were present. The patient is treated with acupuncture treatment in a clinic for Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, by a doctor specialist in acupuncture. 5 treatments are made from 26th of December to 06th of February. Before the treatment the results were showing low fT4 levels and high TSH. After 5 made treatments, a control blood test analysis was made and the results show normal fT4 levels and decreased TSH levels. The patient will continue to do the treatments until the TSH levels are normal. The patient’s condition will be followed up and the upcoming results will be updated in the paper.
