Tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have existed for a long time and can be traced back to five key factors: security interest considerations, cross-border ties and connectivity, geopolitical dynamics, national sovereignty concerns, and regional and international relations. These forces will have an influence on the long-term stability prospects in Afghanistan and the surrounding area if they work together. A tight eye will be kept on the battlefield, given the possibility of escalation following the withdrawal of the US and foreign forces. As the relationship between Afghanistan and Pakistan deteriorates, it is possible that any remaining hopes for a negotiated settlement would be jeopardised. Once the fighting has been brought to a halt or a new administration has been established, bilateral relations will have an influence on the security, political, and economic dynamics of the region throughout the medium to long term. Having a strong relationship with Pakistan can help to promote stability and progress. However, because of the hatred on both sides, which has been heightened by the conflict, the inverse consequence is more likely. The most promising path forward for Afghanistan and Pakistan in terms of expanding their cross-border connections for the benefit of regional peace and the well-being of their populations is to acknowledge and attempt to resolve one another's security and sovereignty concerns in a peaceful and constructive manner through dialogue.

With the global outbreak of COVID-19, the demand for testing rapidly increased and quickly exceeded the testing capacities of many laboratories. Clinical tests which receive CE (Conformité Européenne) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorisations cannot always be tested thoroughly in a real-world environment. Here we demonstrate the long-term stability of nasopharyngeal swab specimens for SARS-CoV-2 molecular testing across three assays recently approved by the US FDA under Emergency Use Authorization. This study demonstrates that nasopharyngeal swab specimens can be stored under refrigeration or even ambient conditions for 21 days without clinically impacting the results of the real-time reverse transcriptase-PCR testing.

Ecological civilization construction is related to not only peoples well-being, but also the long term plan of a countrys development and revitalization. This research applied ant colony clustering algorithm to study the feasibility and key factors of ecological civilization promotion in the college students It is the first time that quantitative method was introduced into the human consciousness research. The results show that college students have known the situation of resources and environmental problems well, which is a advantage for the promotion of ecological civilization concept. However, the role that colleges play in ecological civilization promotion has not performed fully. And above two items are the key factors to promote ecological civilization promotion.

This article analyses developments in Hungarian–Slovakian bilateral relations since the new Slovak government took office in 2012 and the countries’ governments developed friendly relations. Analysis shows it is too early to discuss a turning point in bilateral relations. Underlying problems can erupt into conflict. An overview of serious issues shows they are almost exclusively related to minority rights. Improvement cannot be expected without eliminating the sources of minorities’ dissatisfaction. Analysis of meetings, especially of the Slovakian–Hungarian Joint Commission for the Issues of Minorities, shows that despite the parties’ intentions to improve their relationship they were unable to solve issues requiring policy change. To some extent, the approach to preventing conflicts is part of the obstacle to harmonious Slovakian–Hungarian relations. Not all conflicts are the same: those that result in solving contentious issues are necessary to achieve long-term stability. The bilateral approach’s usefulness should be evaluated considering this differentiation.

Since 1990, negotiated settlements have become the preferred means for settling civil wars. Historically, however, these types of settlements have proven largely ineffective: civil wars ended by negotiated settlement are more likely to recur than those ending in victory by one side or the other. A theoretical and statistical analysis of how civil wars end reveals that the type of ending influences the prospects for longer-term outcomes. An examination of all civil war endings since 1940 finds that rebel victories are more likely to secure the peace than are negotiated settlements. A statistical analysis of civil wars from 1940 to 2002 and the case of Uganda illustrate why rebel victories result in more stable outcomes. Expanding scholarly and policy analysis of civil war termination types beyond the current default of negotiated settlement to include victories provides a much larger set of cases and variables to draw upon to enhance understanding of the conditions most likely to support long-term stability, democracy, and prosperity.

The work environment is constantly changing. It is necessary to adapt effectively in order to have an increased productivity. Terms such as leadership, mindset, long-term goals, critical or analytical mind are the key factors that are deciding the fate of a certain company. In our country, it is mainly young people who are aware of the positive consequences of practicing emotional intelligence. But how easy is it to practice these qualities in a country like Albania? Recently, various trainings are being held for the development of individual performance, but does the Albanian society really know what it means to have an individual performance? One of the basic principles of Adlerian psychology is closely related to the principles of EQ: Thinking of the common good. How can this happen when everyone is supposed to think for themselves? The paper is based on the interpretation of the main tests of Emotional Intelligence by comparing them with the data from a questionnaire that is addressed to 100 employees or people who have at least worked 1 time with contractual agreement. Main tests used are those based on Daniel Goleman’s EQ Framework, specifically “360 degree” instrument. Keywords: Emotional intelligence, HR practices, Leadership, Humanity, Happiness.

The coronavirus situation is causing widespread concern and economic hardship for society, consumers and businesses worldwide. As for entire world, COVD-19 is the most serious challenge to financial institutions in long time. Banks are called upon to manage this new phase with urgency and aptness, to help deflect a worldwide recession. Until recently, majority of banks were focused on empowering both the psychical and digital distribution models. The “new normal” calls for reassessing of priorities and pushes new distribution model where psychical and digital are combined and act as one, with interconnected capabilities. This paper highlights importance of long-term positioning in post covid world, as market forces and customer behavior potentially change coming out of this crisis. In order to manage revenue and customer expectations, new customer-centric and digital based ecosystem should be established, leveraging on the latest technologies, aiming at increasing remote sales and market penetration. Having that in mind, article aims to shed light on key factors important for retail banking success in this “new future”.

Abstract Objective: To test the relationship between positional changes of the proximal segments during surgery and the positional rebound of the mandible during the postsurgical period of orthodontic treatment. Materials and Methods: The sample included records for 34 patients who had received sagittal split surgery for the correction of mandibular prognathism. Data were collected from standardized cephalometric radiographs taken immediately prior to surgery (T2), immediately following surgery (T3), and following the completion of orthodontic treatment (T4). Linear and angular changes in the orientation of the posterior border of the ascending ramus between time points T2, T3, and T4 were measured relative to superimposition on the anterior cranial base. In addition, linear changes in the position of pogonion between T3 and T4 were measured. Results: The magnitude of linear displacement of the posterior border of the proximal segment during surgery (T2 to T3) was statistically significantly correlated (r = .61) with the magnitude of linear displacement of pogonion during the postsurgical phase of orthodontic treatment (T3 to T4). There was a strong relationship between the magnitude of angular (r = .67) displacement of the posterior border of the proximal segments during surgery (T2 to T3) and the magnitude of angular rebound of the posterior border of the proximal segments that occurred during the postsurgical phase of orthodontic treatment (T3 to T4). Conclusions: When rigid fixation procedures alter the position of the proximal segments during sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible, the proximal segments tend to go back toward their presurgical positions following surgery.
